Intro: Ok, so this is just a guide to how I have gone about playing Kennen since the newest patch. I used to use Heat's AS/AD Kennen, but since they've changed his ult, I figured why not just go ability power for kicks.
The skill set is just a guide. For those who have played Kennen, you know that his spell sequence changes depending on the current situation; so I have just given a basic staggered version to go by.
Items: As for the item build, fairly self explanitory. Void staff gives you 40% magic penetration in addition to the runes of magic pen, rylai's is a great harasser early game when combined with shuriken. Some people have argued against my choice of using Guinsoo's Rageblade, but i've found it really useful, especially if an enemy team underestimates the time in which a kennen can destroy a tower (which has happened quite frequently, i've been able to doze a tower from full and get away before they arrive in lane). Lich Bane gives an extra little bit of movespeed (puts you to like 405 or something) to help you run around a little more efficiently, as well as having the extra 100% of your ability power in damage on your next attack (also very useful). And now for the most questionable item - why Warmog's?! answer? if you have ever played kennen, or against a kennen, you know to target him as soon as he enters the fight, because his AoE ult is not something you want around for long. Full team stun? Awsome for my team, horrible for enemies. So to fix this issue of dying so easily once I step in, I end up having around 3.8k health (more than some dps heros that late). This not only gives me time to throw off my ult and stun as many people as possible, but I also have a fairly large chance of surviving and throwing off ~500 damage thundering shurikens into the fray to hurt (and stun!) some folks.
Summoner spells: I have seen a few Kennen's use Flash/Ignite to some degree of success; but I find Ghost/Ignite is common enough on all heros that it is a very good set-up. The ignite mixed with your stunning capability early game can be (and proven to be) a very efficient first blood spell.
