Hi, and welcome to my 2nd guide. Once again, I'd like to apologize for my terrible english, I'm french. SO, first of all, for all those who have a bad opinion about french players... I do agreewith you. Most of us are rude people, and we don't thing about teamplay.

This build hopefully does. Kog maw is one of my favourite champs, and there is a very simple reason to this : you don't need to take part in the teamfight, and you will be the perfet retreat way for your teammates.

Runes

Main rune set

Greater Mark of Insight
You will need this. Any offensive AP champ needs it.

Greater Seal of Force
Best choice here, since you won't need more mana regen.

Your main Rune. If you follow this build, you will need HUGE amounts of mana. I mean, most of my games, if I want to play well, no matter how much I spam my R, I always have mana. Because of these runes.

For those who still don't have all their runes, pure AP can replace MPen. But you should pick Mpen runes ASAP.

These are the standard masteries for heavy AP champs. It perfectly fits with you since you got some extra mana regen and HUGE damages. It also gives you some more moving speed, to chase fleeing champs.

Skill Sequence

This is the most common skilling sequence for your champs. Void Ooze will let you farm and harass, just focus on it until lvl 6.

Your kit (abilities) and how to use it

Caustic Spittle

You won't need this earlt, it really comes handy when you start teamfights. When the enemy AD carry has been slain, just spit once on the tank, and watch it melt.

Tips and tricks:
  • It can be used to last hit !

    Bio-Arcane Barrage

    End Game bread and butter. You cant melt almost anything with this, either Tank or squishy. The range is amazing once maxed out, use it to destroy turrets safely


    Void Ooze

    (Active): Kog'Maw launches a peculiar ooze which deals magic damage to all enemies it passes through and leaves a trail for 4 seconds which slows enemies who stand on it.


    Tips and tricks:
    • I love it so much. Nice damages, and very useful to land your R. Don't underestimate its range, and the slowing ability.

    • When you reach lvl 6, try to land a perfect Void Ooze, immediatly followed by a few Living Artilleries. You can easily land 3 of them, which means a free kill on most of the mid champs (Veigar, Lux, Annie...).

    Living Artillery

    Kog'Maw fires a living artillery shell at a great distance dealing damage and revealing targets for 4 seconds. (150% bonus damage to champions).

    * Cost: 40 Mana (each subsequent Living Artillery in the next 6 seconds costs 40 additional mana, capping at 200 per cast)

    Tips and tricks:
    • Oh man, this is amazing. As soon as you reach lvl 6, use it WISELY. Your build isn't finished yet, so it would just be a waste of mana. And you don't want to waste your mana.

    • Once you get the chalice, the tear and, if you can get Blue buff by any chance, you will have 202 mana regen/5 sec. Yeah, taht's pretty much. Which means you can almost SPAM your R, and even if you don't land it well, your enemies will be focused on YOU, which means they won't see your mates, coming to take lives.

    Icathian Surprise

    The one and only terrorist in Valoran.

    Tips and tricks:
      Don't run like a dog chasing a car. Focus on your enemy movements, most of them will try to juke you. Also, try to focus someone who already wasted his flash.

Items

Recommended build 1 sequence:
Start of with the Doran's ring. It gives you a nice extra HP, AP and MANA REGEN. Use it to spam your E until you reach lvl 6. Try to land perfect E, hitting all the minions and the ennemy champ. You can stay in lane for a pretty amazing time, for your range is amzing, they won't try to hit you. DON'T YOU overextend. Once you got enough gold, B and get both boots and meki pendant. Rush to lvl 6, and time for some fun. Since AP kog is not an usual champ, they won't expect you to harass. Mehehehe. Use the ERRR combo, get the kill (using Ghost and flash if necessary), and time to get some fun.

Don't B until you got engough gold to get sorc shoes AND the Chalice. One amazing thing is that, even if you get ganled, you can easily get a double kill if you land your E in a clever way. I'll add some pics later on to show the perfect landings.

The ONE and ONLY thing you should keep in mind is that ANY enemy touched by your Void Ooze is a PRIMARY target. Truth to be told, you can kill almost any champion with ERRR.

Get the Tear of the Goddess, and forget about your mana, you won't need to think about it anymore. Just make sure that you don't stay stuck on 5 R stacks (1000 mana in 10 seconds in a nice waste)

Follow up with the standard AP offensive item, introducing RABADON'S DEATHCAP, the face melter.

At this point, you got several options. If the game is running well, pick up standard build, taht is to say Malady And Wit's end. It will allow you to melt anyone in teamfight, when you activate your W. If you want to keep on dealing heanvy AP damages, Will of the ancients and Void Staff whould do the trick. If you're getting owned, get some physical armor insted of MR. Why? Because most of the AP casters are ranged ones, and YOU have the biggest range. If you get chased down, just get in a bush, immediatly land a Void Ooze to slow them down, and spam your R until they get forced to retreat. If they kill you, they should be damaged enough to die with your Icathian Surprise.

End game is the funniest part. With the standard build, you can land some R, then get into the teamfight and spit on the survivors.

Rules you should always remember


Even when you are about to die, last thing you should do is use a last R. It makes the difference between 2 enemies running away with a few HP, and a double kill given by Icathian Surprise.
Always aim in front of the fleeing enemies. Even if you have the greatest range ever, the AoE ain't that great.
Try not to KS. If your allies are doing well, don't mess their attack with a single Ksing R. They would get mad at you, and most of the time, that means you're doomed.
