Welcome to my first Build. I think this build works very well AGAINST A CASTER HEAVY TEAM. It is not totally finished yet but I am working on it. I am sorry my English isn't very well. But I try to explain my way of playing Galio as good as I can. I think it is great to play Galio with Ability Power and Magic Resist because of his passive Ability.

Long before the League's regulation of such magic, mages experimented with the creation of artificial life. Now forbidden, instilling golems with reason was once not so uncommon a practice amongst the more expert of craftsmen. One such visionary was the Demacian artificer, Durand. Peerless at crafting sentient beings, Durand's constructs served as tireless guardians for the border towns of his beloved city-state, affording them protection from their Noxian neighbors. For his own defense, however, Durand kept his magnum opus: Galio. This mighty construct - forged in the image of a gargoyle - kept him safe on his journeys, allowing him to perform his important work without fear of reprisal from those hostile to his homeland. That is, until dealing with his taxing sentinels finally roused the ire of the Noxian High Command.

As Durand crossed the Howling Marsh with his masterwork in tow, he was set upon by Noxian assassins in force. Outnumbered and overwhelmed, Galio looked on in horror as the murderers cut down his charge, executing him swiftly before vanishing back into the mists. Stripped of his reason for being, Galio despaired. For years he remained in solitude, standing vigil over the bones of the master he had failed to protect... a literal monument to his own everlasting shame. Then, one nondescript day, a sad but determined yordle girl carrying a mighty Demacian crown stopped in the shadow of a great statue to rest. Hidden in plain sight from his unsuspecting visitor, Galio studied the forlorn yordle. She looked as though she too shouldered a tremendous burden. As quietly and as stoically as she had arrived, she departed in the direction of Demacia. This encounter lit a spark in Galio's eye. Remembering the cause that his master had died defending, Galio arose from his silent purgatory and followed in the wake of this brave creature. He had a new reason to live: to join the League of Legends and fight for the will of Demacia.

Galio fires a concussive blast from his eyes, slowing and dealing damage to enemies caught near the impact point.
Galio fires a concussive blast from his eyes, dealing 60/115/170/225/280 (+0.6) magic damage to enemies near the impact location, and reducing their movement speed by 24/28/32/36/40% for 2.5 seconds.

Galio shields an ally Champion, increasing their Armor and Magic Resistance, and restoring Galio's health each time that Champion suffers damage.
Galio shields a friendly champion for 4 seconds, increasing their Armor and Magic Resistance by 30/45/60/75/90. Each time the unit suffers damage, Galio is healed for 20/32/44/56/68 (+0.3). (-20% healing for each consecutive hit)

Righteous Gust:
Galio claps his wings, unleashing a gust of concussive wind that damages enemies and leaves a directional draft in its wake that increases ally movement speed.
Galio unleashes a gust of concussive wind that deals 70/115/160/205/250 (+0.8) magic damage to all enemies in its path. A directional draft remains for 5 seconds, increasing the movement speed of allies passing through it by 20/24/28/32/36%.

Idol of Durand:
Galio assumes the form of a statue, taunting nearby enemies and storing concussive energy as they attack him. Galio then bursts from his statue shell, releasing the stored energy to damage surrounding foes.
Galio channels for 2 seconds, taunting nearby foes and blocking 30% of incoming damage.

After channeling, Galio deals 220/330/440 (+0.85) magic damage to surrounding enemies, plus an additional 10% damage for each attack he suffered while channeling. Max 80% bonus damage.

I use Clarity because Galio is a Mana-intesive Champion. So you can often use his Abilities and stay longer on lane.

With Flash you can jump into a group of enemies and use his Ultimate. This can be a great opener for a teamfight.

Begin the game by buying Meki Pendant, a Health Potion and a Mana Potion. You need a lot of Mana with Galio and Mana Regen helps you to stay longer on lane.

Once you reach 605 gold, return to base and turn your Meki Pendant into Tear of the Goddess. The Tear is great to raise your max. Mana. And if you buy Archangel's Staff it also helps to increase your Spell Damage.

I think Mercury's Treads with Magic Resist are better than Sorcerer's Shoes with Magic Penetration because they reduces the duration of stuns, slows, taunts, fears, snares, sleeps, and immobilizes by 35%.

As next item I buy Abyssal Scepter because it brings Ability Power and Magic Resist. Additionally the Magic Resist of nearby enemies is reduced by 20.

Lich Bane is the second item that brings Ability Power and Magic Resist. There are no other items except for this two who bring both. Also the 7% Movement Speed are a nice bonus so you can escape fast when u use Righteous Gust in direction of your escape. Additionally it increases your mana.

I buy Rylai's Crystal Scepter cause it brings you a lot of health and Ability Power and dealing spell damage slows the target's movement speed by 35% for 2 seconds (15% for multi-target spells). That can be usefull to ****** the escape of an enemy and nearly all of the damage Galio deals he deals with his spells. Additionally you can slow your enemy with Resolute Smite.

Now you turn your Tear of Goddess into a Archangel's Staff. Thats why its usefull to increase you mana with Lich Bane. Because now 3% of your Max Mana is converted to Ability Power.

At last item buy Force of Nature for more Magic Resist. It raise your Ability Power and gives you +40 Health Regen per 5 sec to stay longer in teamfights at the end of the game.

You can't play in each game with the same items. You have to look which Champions are in the other team and buy the best items against this team. Of course there are not just Champions which deals Magical Damage. You have to look at their items. There are Champions which can played both ways. Magical or Physical Damage. Or like Katharina on both together.

Instead of Force of Nature at the end you can buy Guardian Angel or Aegis of the Legion for Magic Resist and Armor. Aegis of the Legion helps your Team in teamfight with its Aura.

You have to farm a lot with Galio. But this is relatively easy with Righteous Gust and Resolute Smite. But have a look at your mana. This spells at early game reduces your mana very fast. You should keep a rest of it all time to save your teammate on your lane.

When you have bought the Tear of Goddess it will be easier and easier to farm. Because with each spell you use you inncrease your max mana.

At the mid and end game it is very easy to farm a lot with Righteous Gust and Resolute Smite and you have enough mana to use them all the time.

It is great to open a teamfight with Flash and Idol of Durand.

But let your teammates know it when you do that. Because its useless if you jump into a group of enemies and nobody helps you. Your Ultimate isn't strong enough to kill them all. But you can reduce their life significantly and its easier now for your teammates to kill them.

Don't hope for a lot of kills. Most of the time you get a lot of assists.

Use Bullwark all the time on your teammates to protect them and heal yourself.
