It's a preety nice guide.
I don't konw if someone mentioned it (because I don't have the power to scroll all the comments)
But can you give a small section in the items for "Starting items"
Because I ususaly am no sure what should I get on the start, if it should be something like a doran (the suggested items), or an item that might help me at the start, or even something to build into later.
For example, when I get Ezreal, I usualy pick a Sheen and some pots stright on, because all I do at the start is spaming my Q to puke, and I need that extra mana as well. The pots help me sustain most of the damage as well.
So can you please add that, I'd love to see suggestions for starting items in general per role.

Lol thanks to this, I finally know that when poro comes out of the bushes, that means the enemies are in there xDDD

Great guide, enjoyed and learned a lot while reading this. I would like to add some information about the strategies of respawning time on this map, since you can start a tf near your enemies nexus and lose it without consecuences since your entire team would respawn until your enemy could reach your nexus or last turrets. Thanks :)

Very nice intro guide to ARAM. However your tiers need some serious work, several low listed champions are absolutely terrifying if built right. (For example Tank-AP Taric, Tank-AP Warwick, Karma, AP Poppy.)

Great guide sir, I also didn't know that trick with poros.

I want to confirm what xXKUR0S4K1Xx was saying. you replied to his comments with this"In general, winrates can be an indication of how strong a champion is, but they don't show everything. ARAM is random, which means you can get a champion you've never played and drop its winrate, get a great champion with a bad team or get a bad champion with a great team."

The first sentence I agree with it is possible that a champ that's played by pros a lot, bought often and then shelved by lower level players could potentially lower that champs stats. However, the second sentence is completely illegitimate, if you have over all the games censused and the draws are all random then statistically such factors would equal out and the results would be quantifiable. Plus then there is the subjective of in game play. The only exception would be during free week, which you could just ignore that data.

Blitz is not that good, sure if you got that annie always running into the mid bush when you know blitz is right on the other side waiting for the grab then yes you lose but its unlikely you will have such a brainless tard in a game, even then it sometimes works out. What usually happens is blitz pulls in about 3 kills before the team wises up and stays behind creep waves, you wait him out, poke, let your tanks tank up and in the end game you got someone that does no dmg, barely any cc, and can't tank for ****, what's likely is he pulls a another tank in that cc's the whole team and then just slaughters them. Is he intimidating, yes, is he annoying, yes, is he unstoppable to be in two tier 1 tiers, certainly not.

Next I want to mention is taric, who is in the top 10 highest win rate champs on lolking. He's got a stun, a heal that as long as he can hit minions is really short CD, an armor aura/aoe dmg, dmg aura/aoe dmg spell. He's awesome and is tier two for sure, if not tier 1. Also, I really wouldn't count nidalee as a support in aram at all, I've seen that just about never, sure she can heal but that's usually second to her spears and her traps would always be skilled last. Same with soraka, I wouldn't count her as a mage, her not taking heal first sounds like super fail.

xXKUR0S4K1Xx is right ashe is tier 2. Her Aoe is some of the longest ranged nearly undodgeable there is, she keeps low healthies way behind their turret unable to CS. And her ult is amazing in teamfights, high dmg, high CC. Her win rate is 56% unlike corki who sucks is 50-51%(44% during free week). He might be better AP than he is AD but that shouldn't put him in the AD tier then at all. His ranges are just too short to matter and his ult does insignificant damage AD. You said there are AD champs better, well corki aint one of them, fix please.

I think warwick is one of those unstoppable tank characters with a frozen and spirit visage but the lolking stats don't back me up(47-48%). Prob because his early is pretty bad and if his team gets rocked in the process of beefing up I could see it, though I didn't look up other tank stats which could be in a similar range. Though it is one of those things that could be people always going damage when they actually need to play their role they were made for.

I think alistar also makes a better support then tier 4 as his heals can almost out sustain any aoe poke but his stats are also 45-47%.

It seems like some champs you gave double 1st tier for roles they only play secondary and others poor scores. Like nidalee can't escape from chucking high dmg spears and having half ***ed heals, imo that doesn't make her a support. Alistar can't really escape having good aoe heals and tankiness with his ult. Also, support builds tend to be tanky, so in two ways he is always strongly both. whereas nidalee can only ever have half ***ed heals.

Good guide for somebody who wants to get into ARAM a bunch. Although with your team composition recommendation, I've found that 2 tanks, 1 support, 1 ap, 1 adc seems to auto win anytime I random up with it rather than the standard 5v5 build. Due to the fact that you have double the initiate where you can crush the other team in to submission because you can keep fighting and keep making them go into bad fights, when they can't. Also it's much harder for bruisers to get fed like they're suppose to, which makes them weaker. You also have a second peeler for your dps since they will be focus'd harder once the enemy knows who has the kills. Tanks/initiators = OP in ARAM every time. It'd be cool to add that it's the tanks job to start a fight because there have been many a time where tanks like to stand behind everyone else at full health waiting for key moments when they should just be starting the ruckus each time the dps is ready and let the deeps handle the cc more over.

Voted up.

I'm a fairly new player, and i was a tad scared of tryin' ARAM because i knew i'll feel all the hate not knowin' what to do :)

This guide let me feel at ease, and hopefully ahead of some random rambo guy, so i'll give it a try today ;)

On a side note... brave of you of keeping an "hero scoreboard", you know.. those are the best way to feel the hate, and surfin' the comments, you have your hands full of it :)
Everyone has their favourite, and everyone has a champ who can use better than the rest.. so, ultimately, anyone will say something and the opposite of it.
I had a game on dominion with people jumpin' up with "noob and *add various stuff*" because i took tristana.. who apparently is NOT for dominion.. and ended up 25/1/8, first on caps and points.. so in the end, i'm just a "do what you're good at" guy.. but i admire your bravery and what you're tryin' to do.

Don't get discouraged and keep up the good work!

Some pointers on the tierlist:

Ap Carry:
- Yi is average. It's the popular belief that he is damn op but that is not actually true. It's just that he really sticks out. If he has a good team he will easily get fed (by "stealing" kills from his teammates which makes it look like he is carrying even when he is not). Lolking says ~50% winrate which I would agree on.

- Heimerdinger is one of the strongest champs in aram due to his skills complementing him on a lane. Lolking says ~ 67% winrate.

- Mordekaiser is definitely not tier 5 but more like tier 3-2. He is bad at poking but at the same time a beast in teamfights. Lolking says ~ 50-55% winrate.

Ad Carries:

- Ashe is actually really good and should be placed in upper tier 2 instead of bottom tier 3. Good slow on 2 abilities good poke with w and really good ultimate. Lolking says around 56% winrate.

Tanks/Bruisers/Melees:

- Blitz is only average. He really excells early by grabbing kills but falls off just as bad later
Lolking says 50% winrate.

- Olaf is actually worse in Aram than he is in normals. He is a great duelist but can't do much in Teamfights which is what aram is based around. Lolking says 41% winrate.

- I actually lolkinged Nauti expecting to see a really high winrate but it's surprisingly only 50%. Maybe his early game is just too bad but I don't really have a great explanation for this.

I also wanna mention that I didn't lolking every champ and made an opinion off of that but rather took noteworthy champs which I thought were placed badly and lolkinged them for confirmation (except for heimer where I already knew the stats becuase I lolkinged him once already).
The champs I haven't mentioned are either placed well or I don't know enough about them.

As for items: I really think gp10 items are pretty bad on this map as your natural gold generation is really high.

Agree on Summoner spells except maybe exhaust which can have alot of uses, especially since the opposing team often has 1 really fed champ.

Didn't know anything about Poros so thx for the information (^.^)

Please excuse spelling and grammar errors. I really don't wanna proof-read this thing and I'm not a native speaker anyway

Hi there! Here are my opinions.

Master Yi: AP Yi doesn't exist anymore but I think he was extremely strong for multiple reasons. He had pretty much all of the qualities you need in ARAM. He was the best low-level pusher, could poke, could get multikills easily on low health enemies and had infinite sustain with some mana regen. He was not overrated and was one of the strongest champions in ARAM. The new Master Yi is similar, but to a lesser extent.

Heimerdinger: Yes he's very strong, that's why he is tier 2. He can poke and push very well. However, his teamfighting is far below average.

Mordekaiser: Yes, I think I will move him up.

Ashe: She will move up a few spots but stay in tier 3. She's good, but other AD carries are good too.

Blitzcrank: I believe he is so strong early you can win the game before it gets to late-game. A grab is almost 100% a kill. If your team reacts well enough you can completely snowball your team and win quickly.

Olaf: I'm not sure about him. I think I'll wait for his remake and then place him again.

Nautilus: I think he's team-dependant. By grabbing someone, you're putting yourself at risk too. So if your team can't help you or deal damage, you will lose a lot of health. That said, I do think he's very strong most of the time. Orb of Winter and Guardian's Horn help him a lot.

In general, winrates can be an indication of how strong a champion is, but they don't show everything. ARAM is random, which means you can get a champion you've never played and drop its winrate, get a great champion with a bad team or get a bad champion with a great team.

Excellent guide Nusaik, covered pretty much anything you need to know for a game of ARAM. I enjoyed the 'extra' information, such as the history of 'The Howling Abyss' right at the beginning. As others have said, adding a topic describing specific gameplay/spawn items/tips & tricks/etc., would be a great addition. Furthermore a grammar/spelling check would make the guide a bit more pleasant to read. Good job, cheers!

Thanks! Glad you liked it and have some suggestions. There's a lot more that can be added to the guide, but it will take time.

This is a very good and useful guide but I think you are missing out an in my opion pretty important thing.
In ARAM Oracles are pretty useless as they will be gone when dying (what can happen a lot in arams). That's why, if you want to Counter stealth mechanics there are the "anti-stealth" items.
The Hextech Sweeper that is pretty good on most champions that scale with AP and The Lightbringer/ Grez's Spectral Lantern for AD Carries and bruisers.
When facing a Champion that will use stealth or stealthed traps a lot like for example Teemo, Shaco and Twitch this items will be incredibly useful by revealing nearby stealthed enemies and traps and providing you with an active that reveals a pretty large area for a few seconds (awesome to check brushes).

Hi,
nice guide. It helps me a lot and after 600 games i want mention some points.
Some things i would change are:
General Strategy
-I miss one very important thing that i saw so often. Focus minions when u fight under your Tower. Statikk Shiv can cleanup waves pretty easy if waveclear is bad.
-Plz talk to team before REROLL it is good if the champ is someones main champ.
-Behavoir: Dont flame if someone make strange builds. Like AD Lulu, Tank Teemo, AP Sona. Often it has some reasons because of missing a role in team composition.

Building
- The Warmogs armor Icon at Tank section makes me confusing because it does not exist in ARAM
Items
- I would put Will of the Ancient to AURA ITEMS
- i would put more focus in this section as in Champion list section.
- Items i would mention because they are very good or counter strong champs:
o Morellonomicon (Mundo, Zac, Vlad, Volibear, AD Liesteal)
o Grez's Spectral Lantern, Lightbringer, HextechSweeper (Check bushes, Teemo, Shaco, Twitch, Kha'Zix, Wukong)
o Kitae's Bloodrazor
o Entropy
o Mana Manipulator (cheap and helps the whole team)

Summoner Spells
- Promote not exists, Surge not existing in ARAM

Plz keep writing and improving your guide to improve ARAM fight qualitiy.
First time i write something in english. If something is not clear, feel free for asking.

Alright time to start tackling some of your comments.

Youngs wrote:

+1. I've always wondered what the Meta for ARAM is, and it's nice to finally have a guide on MOBAFire for it. This is very detailed and looks good aesthetically. I think you should add Emblem of Valor to your list of sustain items. It's very good on ARAM because sustain is very important on ARAM and your teammates will always be in range for the passive. When I play a tank on ARAM I buy both Runic Bulwark and Emblem of Valor to stack the health regen passives. If your teammates have 17 extra Health Regen it's very easy to out-sustain the enemy team. Also you should mention Guardian's Horn in the items section. Since it's not on Summoner's Rift , most people don't know whether or not it's a viable. It could be like Ionic Spark for all I know.

RIP Runic Bulwark :(

Yes emblem of valor is a good item to get but honestly I think it's pretty obvious. I can't include every single item in this guide. It will just become meaningless information, cluttering up the guide. You're right about Guardian's Horn of course, I will include this one.

Melchee wrote:

Ah, ok. Didn't knew that. :0
...

I agree with what you say about emblem of valor, Guardian's Horn, suiciding and team comps. I've added your points to the guide.

RIP AP Yi :(

Nidalee: AP is the way to go in my opinion. Her poke and sustain is superior with AP. However, if your team needs it, you have plenty of other build options like you said.

Poke/GP: It all depends on who has the most. If you have a lot of poke champions to back it up, even melee champions can 'poke', as long as it's hard for the enemy to counter-attack. Someone like GP can adapt their build to this. If you can poke, you can go for crit, if you can't, go for tankiness.

Irelia: Yep it's true, although I don't think you can get 90% tenacity with her (there is/was a bug with this in 3.10). Tenacity stacks multiplicitavely, not additively (hope I spelt those words correctly). This means getting 50% tenacity twice will give you 75% tenacity instead of 100% for example.

Building: Yea, all I can really say is, everything depends on your team, the enemy team and how the game is going. This is why it's so difficult to make complete builds for LoL champions, there are always exceptions.

Kayton wrote:

This is all good except for the tiers. Why would you put Karma as a tier 5??? As an AP caster, I always get the most kills on my team and rarely die because of my OP shield with a movement speed getaway. My Q is a great spam poke. It makes up for it's bad AP ratio and range with a low cooldown. It's already OP but then you spam Mantra, keep autoattacking and kill people!!

Should be tier 1! Bought her once I saw the update. Heard they even increased the blast ratio of Q..

Making the tier lists is pretty difficult, especially since pretty much all mages are very strong. Tier 5 doesn't mean 'bad', it means 'there are stronger champions'. Also, I haven't played with/against Karma much. I will take another look though.

Alright I'm tired now, more replies soon...

Hey everyone. I see there are a lot of (very long) comments. I just wanted to say I'm busy being on vacation and stuff so I probably won't respond for a while but I will get back to every one of you ASAP.

Thanks :)
