Early Game:

This guide works well for either laning solo or with another champ. The most important thing to remember with lux is that you are squishy and need to stay as far back as possible. Your auto attack range isn't the greatest but the range on your LS (lucent singularity) is absolutely amazing. Using this you can zone very effectively and keep enemy champions back.

If laning mid its best to stay back at the turret in the begining. It is hard for you to get a gank until you have your LB (light binding) LS and FF (finales funkeln) all up. When this happens you can do the 1-2-3 combo.

If laning with a partner buy as fast as possible (as you should always be doing) and run to the bushes. Let your laning partner enter first, that way if there are enemy players waiting you can use LB to try and save. If you make it first just wait and try to gank with LB, early money is always a good thing.

When the minions start coming use LS to farm, tossing the ball directly in between the melee minions and the ranged minions will hit all of them at the same time for decent damage. Then use your auto attack to pop the light balls on the heads of the ranged minions. You should be able to one shot them. Leave the melee minions for your laning partner, its better if both of you have money. While finishing off the group of minions remember to harass with LS, remember it takes time for the ball to travel but you can blow it up instantly by hitting E again.

Keep LB on cooldown as much as possible. Some people like to harass with it but I can't tell you how much better it is to use as a save and gank ability. Only use this ability if you can get the kill or save a life.

After you have 605 gold go back to base, buy a tear of the godess and tele back to your lane. Use clarity when you're low on mana. The tear will keep you harassing longer and harder than before.

MID GAME:

At level 6-14 you should be getting mad kills with the 1-2-3 combo.

1-2-3 combo: Shoot your LS at the enemy champ, if it gets close enough to them immediately use your LB to keep them in place, right click while hitting E. This will blow up the ball, pop the light on their head and reapply a new one, then hit your FF. If they aren't dead yet one more right click or another LS will do it. This is your primary killing combo and if done right you will be able to blast through enemy champs.

Keep your eyes out for easy ganks and use your teleports to get around. You want stacks on your soulstealer as soon as possible. Also, make sure that you BUY THE SOULDSHROUD. It gives you reduced cooldown health and mana regen. With it you live longer, harass harder, and lane longer. It also helps out your friends (remember, you are a support champ so support your team and don't go off alone).

END GAME:

If you've done your part right by level 14 or so you should be sporting a cool 300 AP. After you buy your hat this will jump to close to 700. Beyond that you really don't need any more AP and should be farming minions and ganking other champs like a boss. Simply play smart, don't dive, and keep your stacks. Remember you can use your lazer to harass and not just kill as its cooldown is only a little over 40 seconds with this build.
