Katarina Super easy matchup. Ult when she ults. Stay away from her dropped daggers. And since katarina cant wardjump no more she doesent really have a way of getting away as long has you fight her while her minions are far away.

Introduction

Welcome to my zed guide. My name is William but im refered to as Lobban. I play on EUNE currently but planning to switch to EUW. Im currently silver but i pretty recently started playing zed. At the end of season 6 i took myself from silver 5 to silver 1 super fast with zed. He is so much fun to play. And now you might be thinking. Why should i take a guide from a silver player seriously. Well, i got to 100k mastery points fast, i made some sick outplays throuout my zed playtime. And belive it or not my cousin is a diamond zed main. He tought me some outplays. He even called me platworthie after 70k mastery points. You dont have to take my word for it, but i would recommend any newbie zed player to atleast try my guide. I promise that you will get a better understanding on zed.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
+Good mobility
+Easy to oneshot squishy targets
+Strong early/mid game
+High damage combo with prety low cd
+Really good for oneshotting the adc, even in late zed can always oneshot the adc.
+Best champion for winning low-elo games.
+Zed is just incredibly fun to play. His laning phase is always intresting!


Cons:
-Extreamly weak late game
-Easy to shut down with hard CC

Combos

Standard poke combo: W+E+Q <- Notes: Keep in mind to ALWAYS use W+E+Q and never W+Q+E, since its easier to hit you're Q when the target is slowed.
R+E+Q or R+W+Q+E <- Notes: Use R+E+Q if you dont have the time do put down a W in example a teamfight.

Spells

In this section i will be talking a bit more intact about zed's abilities. I will do my best to explain them properly!Q: Zed throws out a straight skillshot slicing through objects. First target hit will take increased damage.
W: Zed creates a clone of himself that can procc with his abilities. Example, you throw out a shadow that zed can use to cast his abilities.
E: Zed slices a small Area of effect dealing damage to any nearby enemies. Also if zed's E is used on his W the AoE from E slows any target hit.
R: Zed marks a target, after a few seconds the mark will pop dealing damage based on how much damage zed inflicted on the target after the target got death marked.

I use these. These runes work against almost any mid lane opponent, ap or ad.

Farming

Try to always lasthit while minions are at 30-40% hp in early game. Also keep in mind that you can only use your passive on the same target once then its on a 10 sec cooldown, but only on the same target. For example you see 5 targets with under 50% max hp. you hit all five of them pretty quick, then you cant procc your passive again for 10 seconds. Thats the best i can summiraise this section.

Masteries

These are the ones i use currently

These can be improved but who your opponent is. But these are standard zed masteries.
For example you can go fury against meelee enemies, feast against hard lane opponents. Vampirism is a must have on zed, it just fits on zed's kit. The spell vamp is super good for his combo, and life steal on a meelee is never bad! I prefer battle trance on zed when i W+E+Q+W, it increases the damage alot and if you can get in the basic with fresh blood and zed's passive its insane how much damage you can do. Wanderer is good for roaming so that i recommend for everyone. Assasin is just obvious, zed is the most assasin like champion in the game so why wouldn't you have a mastery that's called assasin! Merciless is good with your passive and your ult. I always take dangerous game over greenfathers gift. As zed you are going to make some risky tower dives. Mostly at 6, so its really good to get some hp after the kill and maybe survive the enemy ignite or a turret shot etc. Precision is a mastery that you can change if it fits the enemy. Against heavy ap mid laners with alot of poke you need cdr so in that case i would go intelligence. And now we are at the most commonly used mastery in the game, Thunderlords decree! This is the perfect zed mastery, you do so insaly much dmg with a W+E+Q if you procc thunderlords. If you also jump to your clone to do a basic you can almost instantly kill someone without ultimate.

Creep Killing



Zed is an amazing creep killer. This is mainly because his full combo entices easy wave of farming, ++=$ Profit. Another reason why is such an awesome wave-clearer is because of , this extraordinary passive allows easy shred of minions's health below around half. Really healpful and neat passive which I believe is one of the best in the game because of its regularity of use.

ganks are hard to pull off unless the enemy laner is REALLY overextended. At best you can land one , is your only form of crowd control, and the only way to hit it is with which has a decent range but not decent enough to pull off ganks.

Team Work

Zed has a hard time working with teamates. Zed's whole kit is just screaming lone wolf. The only way of teamwork zed has is within zeds W+E which slows the enemies hit in a AoE effect
