Introduction to Diana

***BUG*** - This guide's "cheat sheet" is wrong, since it is not counting full ability power bonuses (She will have about 580 ability power, not 457.52), and the Lich Bane's bonus movement speed is not being counted too (Should be 421 movement speed, not 390.)

Diana is one of my favorite champions in the league, with the ability to jungle, gank, farm, and deal a ton of damage with her combos, I use this build to run the fields of justice with ease.

Diana Pros:
(+). . . Good farming capability with her Q.
(+). . . Great at jungling, no smite needed!
(+). . . Higher HP than most AP champions.
(+). . . High ap influenced skills and passive.
(+). . . First champion with the "curved skillshot", which is a bit harder to predict.
(+). . . short cooldowns.

Diana Cons:
(-). . . Eats mana very fast in the beginning (forcing you to buy mana potions or getting blue in beginning).
(-/+). . . Melee AP, which is both good and bad, good being because her passive grants part of her ability power to her basic attacks on every 3rd hit.
(-). . . If missed out on farming, Diana can be easily matched and killed.
(-). . . Has the "Global Taunt" (Everyone will focus you just because you are Diana) effect on most players.

Strategy and Tactics with Diana

Now let's talk about tactics with this build:



Starting with a Rylai's really gives Diana a headstart on both health and ap, and she can slow enemy champions will her abilities, which really helps with landing her combos without missing.

Follow the leveling part of this guide, maxing Diana's Q and W are the most important things for poking champions and farming. Putting 1 point to her E allow Diana to pull and slow turret divers, OR help out in early game ganks. Moonfall is very useful for ganking, do not go without at least 1 point.

Diana's combos make her very strong, dealing a massive amount of damage over and over with her low cooldowns and ultimate. For the most effective combo, use Diana's Q on an enemy champion, dash with her R (giving her a no cooldown bonus), press W to land her orbs and deal damage to nearby enemies + gain a shield if they focus, then use her E to pull all enemies and land another Q, repeating the process and dealing massive AoE damage.

With this guide, Diana can effectively take on tanks too. Her high spell vamp and magic penetration grant her the ability to smash up enemy tanks. Along with the Abyssal Scepter, Diana can easily slice through enemy forces.

For jungling, you can land your Q in a camp, damaging all units, then dash to them with your R, pulling them in with E, and finishing them with another W and possibly another Q/her passive AoE attack.

Diana doesn't really have a way of evading enemies, but there is 1 way you can possibly escape a gank or fight. During jungling you can be behind the monster camp and attack them with the Q and jump with an R to escape a fight. If you don't do this, another thing you can rely on is Flash, which is effective but useless until you get it back.

Diana may not do so great if you do not have all your spells ready. Mainly, make sure your Crescent Strike, Pale Cascade, and Lunar Rush are all ready before entering the jungle.

A tank who has strong abilities, such as Jayce, Dr. Mundo, or Volibear, can lane with Diana and make the game an easy win. Why? Because Diana is strong, but she can still be killed by another Diana or a disabler. Poking with a tank on your side will usually prevent a disabler from screwing up your farming.

Lastly, Along with Rylai's, Lich Bane and HT Gunblade, Diana CAN turret dive at levels 13+ (after maxing Pale Cascade), easily snatch a kill and escape.

*You do not have to get Hextech Gunblade, instead you can get Rod of Ages or Zhonya's Hourglass for more tank + ap, OR another Rabadon's Cap for 700 AP.*
