Introduction
there is a few specialty builds for champions with special abilities; for example, Akali, Warwick, Lee Sin, and Hecarim, and will all be covered as separate builds in this guide.
I will provide a core build only, what you get after that is completely up to you and the situation.

*just because it is listed does not mean it is the meta, or is the only build they can use, but most of the champions listed this is their meta build

-Not a lot of ability power from the start so you must focus on farming |
21 on offensive tree is for extra damage and 9 in utility is for movement speed and longer blue buff duration
- Greater Quintessence of Ability Power: helps a lot with early game damage for not getting ability power until after catalyst
- Greater Mark of Magic Penetration: magic penetration is the most universal mark you can get, works well with many champions
- Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist: more magic resist to help you win in the laning phase, why I choose per level is because AP carries damage scale with levels, so you will need more mr late game.
- Greater Seal of Scaling Mana Regeneration:mana regen is a must for ap carries, but since you get rod of ages you wont have too many mana problems, so Greater Seal of Armor is also a great choice to help with getting ganked or even just auto attacks from the enemy.
Flash:easily the strongest summoner spell, helps with positioning greatly, an AP Carry's priority |

Ignite:helps a great deal with finishing off foes before they kill you or if they get out of range |

Teleport:in some situations, a teleport is needed to help another lane getting ganked, or to get back into your lane so you dont lose farm. |

:provides great lane sustain and movement
- catalyst the protector:every time you level up your health and mana will be slightly refreshed, helping you stay in lane longer, and you can farm using your skills better because you dont have to worry as much about mana.

:a very strong item that provides you with a great deal of mana hp and ability power, a must have for AP Carrys with mana.

:with enchanted movement 2 boots you can gank other lanes and move around the map much quicker, the magic penetration also helps with burst damage

:by now you should have a couple of kills and even greater farm (since you could farm with skills since you got rod of ages) and a large rod builss into a deathcap, your strongest damage item.
- :the strongest ability power item in the game, stacks well with the higha bility power from rod of ages and any other item you decide to get afterwards

-squishy, but that is a given when choosing an ad carry. -playing an ad carry provides you will be targeted most of the time. so great positioning is needed |

- greater mark of desolation:armor penetration helps with damage, especially against people like taric or graves, that have natural armor.
- Greater Glyph of Scaling Mana Regeneration:mana regeneration provides more harass and lane sustain [greater glyph of shielding]] is also a great choice, helps a lot with the support usually having magic damage and ganks.
- Greater Seal of Armor:armor helps with everything in a fight, out of a fight, and being harassed.

Ignite:helps a great deal with finishing off foes before they kill you or if they get out of range, also helps if they have a summoner heal or a support that can heal to reduce healing. |

Heal:if they dont have any healing reduction (including ignite) this spell is a great choice for fights and you can lure someone under a turret when you have low hp and use heal when you are about to die to get a good kill. |

:mobility is a must to escape or chase, and having potions is a good idea for lane sustain Doran's Blade is also a good item if you have a strong healer as a support, such as Soraka, Taric, and Sona

:saving up for an early bf sword can get you even farther ahead in farm because its easier to last hit and can get you some kills

:more attack speed means more dps to kill the enemy, also provides more movement speed

:extremely high attack damage, and a chance to do a critical hit, that now does 50% more damage than before. Bloodthirster is another choice, because some find Infinity Edge as a gamble item.

:if you didnt get Bloodthirster get this and eventually make a bloodthisrter, this really helps with staying away from base as long as possible.
- :zeal provides movement speed, crit rate, and attack speed, you can turn this into a trinity force or a phantom dancer
