Hello Mobafire and welcome to my 8th build.

Maybe you know me from my other Gragas build which is an AP build, which is still very strong in my eyes. :) Check it out!. But I thought, hey what if my team has no tank and I'm playing Gragas? Tanking Gragas is also very strong you see, you really don't die because you have that Drunken Rage skill. So, this build is for guys who want to tank with Gragas and also want a little AP (about 150).

Pros about a tanking Gragas:
- You get so little damage
- Still nice support for the team with your slow and ultimate, and still doing damage!
- Not very expensive items

Cons:
- It needs some skill at throwing barrels
- Not as much damage as AP Gragas

Pre-match:
If you have a jungler, you really should take the 1 vs 2, you can handle it easily. If there is no jungler, mid is also an option. Mid Gragas is epic Gragas, barrels are so annoying you see.
Ok, about my runes. With this build you are still doing some damage, that's why I still prefer Marks of insight for some magic penetration. Some armor and mr in seals and glyphs will reduce the damage (especially early game) and health quintessences is really nice early game and it helps your passive a bit.
For my masteries I go 9/21/0. More AP and magic penetration and tanky stuff and even in the defense tree you see you get 4% (eventually) more AP.

Early game:
You see, I start with a Ruby Crystal again, just like in my AP Gragas build. I go for a Rod of Ages again for early game harassing. You will have much AP early game for a tanking build so I think it's a nice start. Of course, without boots you can't do much so I go for Mercrury Treads most of times. If you want to do more damage, Sorceress Shoes are also a good option, but since this is a tank build, MT is perfect for him!

Mid game:
After these 2 items, it's time for tanking stuff. It kinda depends on what damage your enemy does. If they do more physical damage than magic damage, first go for a Randuin's Omen. Otherwise buy a Banshees Veil. I still prefer Banshees Veil more than Randuin's Omen because the spellshield is pretty good I think. You can also buy a Heart of Gold first, then Banshees Veil and then complete your Randuin's Omen, so you get a little gold from your HoG, whatever you want, it's your choice!

Late game:
When you have these 2 items, you are really tanky if you cast Drunken Rage. And again there are 2 things you can do now. If they deal much physical damage, buy Guardian Angel first, but if you want to do more damage, nice aura and some magic resistance, buy Abyssal Scepter! It are both awesome items. It's your pick.

Summoner Spells:
I prefer ghost and exhaust, the same as in my AP build. Exhaust for more crowd control and ghost for chasing enemies or helping teammates quicker.
Other suggestions are cleanse and maybe teleport, although I don't really like teleport because it has a long cooldown.

Any questions? Ask them! Thx for reading. :)
