Ignite is often used as a "first blood" skill. It is very useful if your opponents has large health pools and fast health regen like Dr. Mundo, Garen etc.... Possible pairs: Ignite and Flash, Ignite and Ghost or Ignite and Exhaust.
This spell is very useful for chasing opponents or evading enemy ganks. Possible Pairs: Flash and Ignite, Flash and Exhaust or Flash and Ghost.
An alternative to flash. Also used for chasing opponents or evading enemy ganks. Possible Pairs: Ghost and Ignite, Ghost and Flash or Ghost and Exhaust
A nice spell to close or widen gaps like flash and has a very nice slow and reduce attack speed buff. Possible Pairs: Exhaust and Ignite, Exhaust and Ghost or Exhaust and Flash
Abilities and Skill Combo
Xin Zhao's basic attacks, including those enhanced by Three Talon Strike and Audacious Charge, will reduce the target's armor by 15% for 3 seconds.
NOTE: Xin Zhao's passive stacks with runes and items with Armor Penetration.
Three Talon Strike
Xin Zhao prepares to unleash a fearsome combo, causing his next 3 standard attacks to deal his attack damage + 15 / 30 / 45 / 60 / 75 (+1.2 per attack damage)to enemy targets, with the final attack knocking his opponent into the air. Each strike while active reduces the cooldown of his other skills by one second.
NOTE: This is Xin Zhao's main damage source. You must max this skill first.
Passive: Xin Zhao passively heals himself every third basic attack by 25 / 31 / 37 / 43 / 50 (+70% of ability power).
Active: Xin Zhao unleashes a battle cry, granting him 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 % attack speed for 5 seconds.
NOTE: 1 point in this is skill is enough to sustain Xin Zhao during laning phase. It has a good attack speed boost and heals you every 3rd attack. You must max this skill second.
Xin Zhao charges and challenges an enemy. The charge deals 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230 (+60% of ability power) magic damage to all nearby enemies and slows them for 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45% for 2 seconds.
NOTE: This skill is a very nice gap closer. It deals AOE damage and slows surrounding enemies. You max this skill last.
Xin Zhao unleashes a sweep around him that dealing 125 / 225 / 325 (+ 1.0 per bonus attack damage) physical damage to all nearby enemies equal to a base amount plus 15% their current health and knocks them back. Xin Zhao gains 15 / 20 / 25 bonus armor and magic resistance for 6 seconds for each champion hit.
If a challenged target is hit by the sweep, it is unaffected by the knockback.
NOTE: His Ultimate is a very good initiator in teamfights if used correctly. When opponents come closer use his ultimate to knock them back giving your team a head start to damage them.
In duels or team fights always use this skill combo
NOTE: Always use Battle Cry before Three Talon Strike because Three Talon Strike lowers the cooldown of all skills by 3 seconds, therefore you can land your Three Talon Strike faster and can use your Battle Cry sooner.
When playing as Xin Zhao you must target the AP/AD Carries or the squishy targets first so that they will be unable to join the teamfight.
is the best choice for Xin Zhao

Marks:Greater Mark of Attack Damage , this rune is one of the most common runes used by AD champions. It gives 0.95 AD which is very much useful during the early game phase.
Seals:Greater Seal of Armor , he needs a little armor to withstand the damage of other AD champions.
Glyphs:Greater Glyph of Critical Damage , the critical strike has amazing synergy with items like Infinity Edge, Phantom Dancer etc...
Quints:Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage I use this Quint because it gives 2.25 attack damage. It is very useful for AD champions like Xin. Get 2 of this Quint
Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed Use this Quint to fill up your last Quintessence slot. This is very useful for Xin since it stacks with his second skill Battle Cry
My 21/9/0 masteries gives attack damage and enough defense to sustain in a badass lane.
I usually go with the top.
In every game, you must at least get 100 minion kills because, even if you have fed your opponent and you have a higher minion kills than your opponent, then you will have a chance of becoming stronger than your opponents. Use your Ravenous Hydra's passive (Cleave) to farm creeps even faster.

Ratings and Comments
Before dislking the guide, please comment why you do not like this sexy guide. I know I have some grammar mistakes in this guide because I live in a country in which is English is not my mother language.
But then I am sexy and edited the guide for your convenience :) The trolls in this guide are my work :D
Personal Opinions (not a note from Faiyazj).
I prefer you to use the Main Build because Xin Zhao FYI is not a tankish champion, he is a semi-tank, so for all the noobs out there who says you should make him tank, just reply that Xin Zhao is a semi-tanked champion. I usually go with the top lane, but if you think you are a mismatch to the opposing team's top laners, switch to bot, in this way, you can avoid being such an idiotic feeder. If both top and bot lanes are mismatch to you, try changing teammates, also please take note that the performance of Xin Zhao as a laner can be affected by the performance of his teammates or the one he is laned with.
