Nasus
Guide Top

All you need to know!

Early on, Nasus' laning is atrocious! Fortunately, his passive gives him pretty decent sustain and wither allows him to escape ganks with only taking minor damage (hopefully)! Once you hit around lvl 9, instead of getting poked down, a well placed Spirit Fire joined with a Wither and a couple Siphoning Strikes will turn your lane around by allowing you to output tremendous amounts of early damage.

Thanks to Teleport, you can continually farm your lane while being able to jump into a team fight if one occurs. Between farming the lane and clearing jungle camps, if your jungler isn't clearing them out, you should be upping your stacks pretty quickly and getting quite a large sum of gold as well.

I've noticed that I tend to be pretty bad at stacking my q's early on. I try to have 100 around 10 minutes. Whether I am losing lane or winning, unless I am getting destroyed even under my tower, I try to have 300 stacks by 20 minutes. The cooldown from early game items help with this so much, so get them as soon as you can. This will be easy to do with Teleport.

Abilities

Nasus is all about the q. Without the stacking q, Nasus is nothing! Level that up first so you can get more damage on it which will help you last hit minions. Wither is one of the best slows in the game. In later levels, if you time them right and used in conjunction with your q, no one will be able to escape your wrath! I used to level up e before w for the damage but learned that was a bad idea. You will go out of mana so fast and that will impede you from stacking your q's. So just remember the skill order of R>Q>W>E and level them up in that order and you'll be fine.

Item Breakdown

Other good items that work on Nasus in different scenarios:

Ruined blade for lifesteal
Frozen for health and chase potential.

Hydras for clearing and lifesteal (Messes up your cs though but more gold)

Zephyr has a bit of everything Nasus needs

GA if you keep getting focused in teamfights.

Frozen heart will finish up the glacial shroud and it has good mana, cooldown, and armor, everything Nasus needs.

Banshee's veil if an ap champ is getting too fed.

Maw if an ap champ is getting fed and they're squishy.

Masteries

I pretty much always use these masteries on Nasus. He needs the tankiness and the CD. The extra attack damage helps with the q's.

Runes

In my opinion, no matter what champ you play, you should use the armor seals. Some people prefer the scaling magic resist glyph's but late game, your stacks will be high enough you passive will heal you enough that that little amount of MR wont matter. Armor pen and attack damage help with your q but you can change them up to some of each if you really want, as long you have some amount of both, you'll be good.

Spells

Pretty much always take Teleport and Ghost. Flash is OK if you need an "OH ****!" button. Ignite is also good for kill potential but Teleport will help you with your stacks which I think is more important that getting kills. The kills will come in time!
