Introduction

.:STILL IN THE MAKING. KEEP CHECKING FOR MORE INFO AND UPDATES:.

First off this is a guide to dominate mid and punish those squishy/tanky enemies. After playing Malzahar for a long time ive started experimenting with my own builds and i found this one to be the best. It allows you to survive a lot longer but still KO people in one rotation; W R E Q (ignite or DFG if need). This build also gives you a big mana pool oppose to the other builds i have experimented with, which allows you to stay in the battle and keep up the farm or harass with your spells. I myself use this build a lot for Mid lane both in blind and ranked games. it also is good if you are going to be that jerk and solo top lol.

Call of the Void

is best used for harassing in lane and lane control. Even if you do not damage the enemy you are creating a "wall" and making them move to a different position. This is helpful because you do not want your enemy to get into a comfortable position to where they can control you or even kill you. Keep them moving at all times and keep their toes. Also great for late game silence's you should know how the enemy or enemies will open up or start a team fight. I like to back up, make them come to me, when I feel they are going to commit to their attack drop your Q between you and them and they will walk into it and thus taking damage and allowing you to control the situation. In team fights when everyone is clumped up dropping one of these on top of everyone will help a lot not only with the AOE damage but silencing the enemy team and allowing your team to get off some abilities.

Null Zone

is never really used for harass but can be used for lane and choke points. It does not do very much damage unless your enemy is cc'ed on top of it. BUT it is one of your main damage out putting abilities. This goes great with your Nether Grasp. place this below your enemy and then use your Nether Grasp and watch them drop like a rock. Null zone can also be used for very low hp runners. If you are chasing somebody at say 40 hp if you place this BEFORE THEM so they can walk through it, the whole diameter, you should be able to secure the kill. Note that this is a % of max hp ability meaning that it works great for tanks. if you are in a team fight and you drop this down in the middle not only will you be damaging everyone but the tanks will take the most damage. But remember only use your Nether Grasp if you can drop a null zone under them for maximum damage.

Malefic Visions

is your main source of damage and your main tool for farming. This is the ability you want to max out first so you can keep your damage up and also your farm. Once you have this ability at lvl 3 you should be able to start clearing out minion waves. What i like to do is Q the caster minions then put up my E on the melee ones just auto attack the one with the d.o.t. on it and watch it just pass from minion to minion. By dropping a Q on the caster minions it helps make sure that the low lvl damage from your E will kill them. This ability can also be used for great harass. Try to get this on your enemy every chance you get. Once you get it on them its just doing all the work itself, you then can back off and watch them take damage. One time use of this will not kill a full hp enemy but after a few and some other abilities it all adds up and will either get you a kill or force a recall.

Nether Grasp

is your bead and butter. Nether Grasp is where Malzahar is at his peak in damage because if you can get a Null zone under your enemy while sucking the soul from them they are probably going to die and thats good for you. Like i said to get maximum damage from this use your null zone under the target and watch them drop. Your Nether Grasp is not nearly as effective without the damage from the Null Zone. But if it is an emergency and you need some quick cc to buy yourself some time for team mates to get to you feel free to use it. You can use it on low or high ground targets and even some that are on the other side of a wall. This works great if you can get your team to fight where dragon is and you can sit on the high ground and ult someone from the top and take no damage but it is risky because if the fight moves you have to float all the way around. Just know that even though it is your ultimate dont be afraid to use it for emergencies.

Items and why you need them.

Sorcerer's Shoes

- Malzahar is pretty slow as it is so boots are kind of a must for his build. The magic penetration you will make all your magic damage abilities hit harder against higher magic resist enemies. And seeing as Malz is all magic damage, other than his voidling, these boot help A LOT.

Rabadon's Deathcap

- Great amount of AP and its passive helps boost all other items AP by a little bit. Must have.

Rod of Age's

- Item description: +450 Health +525 Mana +60 Ability Power Passive: Your champion gains 18 Health, 20 Mana, and 2 Ability Power every minute (up to 10 times). UNIQUE Passive: On leveling up, restores 250 Health and 200 Mana over 8 seconds

Both passives come in handy because you get more hp and mana per minuet and the hp and mana regen upon leveling up helps a ton in lane at lower level, helps keep you in lane that much longer to get some farm in or defend.

Archangle's Staff

- Item Description: +400 Mana +25 Mana Regen per 5 seconds +45 Ability Power Passive: Grants Ability Power equal to 3% of your maximum Mana. UNIQUE Passive: Each time you use an ability, your maximum Mana increases by 4 (3 second cooldown). Bonus caps at +1000 Mana. Does not stack with Tear of the Goddess or Manamune.

This item helps a lot to keep you in lane or the fight longer. By increasing your mana pool and gives you a ton of mana regen. Also by increasing your mana pool you get that little boost in AP because of its passive.

Void Staff

- Just like your boots this item makes you hit harder with the increase in magic penetration.

Deathfire Grasp

- This item is not a must but allows you to put out more damage. The cooldown reduction helps you put out more damage and dot up everyone in team fights. Its passive also is a joy to have as a last resort to killing an enemy just put the dot from your dfg and this is help you pick up a kill on a runner or an enemy that just killed you. If you really want to go all out and just blow everything put your Malefic Visions, Ignite and DFG dot on one target and they will lose a lot of hp over time that is if they dont end up dying from all this damage. This item can be replaced if you so choose. (if i do not use this item i usually switch it out with an Abyssal Scepter just to be a jerk lol.)
