Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
I don't think I need to explain his abilities, you can all read the thumbnails.
Otherwise, thanks for checking out my build, this isn't too in-depth but it give a general idea on my play style with Brand and how to control him.
Pros / Cons
-Applying Brand's combo's correctly gives him a huge damage output
-Can use his abilities in different sequences during different situations
-Brand is extremely useful in a team fight due to his AoE (especially with his ultimate)
-Extremely squishy early game (not as squishy late game but still fairly squishy
-Can be difficult to understand at first but becomes very natural much sooner that 'normal'
-Sometimes can be difficult to land his skill shots
-CC = gg (pretty common with almost any character but Brand gets focused pretty frequently)
LAST HIT, LAST HIT, LAST HIT
Throw in a few harass shots with Conflagration(E)
As soon as you hit level 6 make sure you have enough mana to unleash Brand's combo:
E > Q > W > R(if needed)
Q and W can be switched around, if you can land his W without the stun, go for it, the stun just helps with making sure the enemy gets the most damage done possible to them (obviously).
Brand is also an amazing farmer, you can clear waves of mobs with the W > E combo at this point.
Team fights should just entail you staying back and spamming W > E and then R when the enemy team is grouped up.
Single target fights should be:
E > W > Q
E > Q > W combo.
At this point farming is almost a joke, you can clear out mobs with just your W skill.
Meki Pendant: Mana regen is great. Just stay back and kill mobs at the start and endlessly harass until you need to go back (run out of pots).
Health Pots: Squishy. Remember?
Tear of the Goddess: Generally all around good mage item, gives mana.
Hextech Revolver: Spell vamp allows you to stay on the field longer.
Sorcerer's Shoes: Magic Pen.
Archangel's Staff: 3% extra AP. Awesome.
Giant's Belt: I get this first out of the scepter build because the HP is pretty needed with Brand.
Rylai's Crystal Scepter: HP is great, AP is good, Slow is amazing.
Void Staff: Magic Pen.
Will of the Ancient's: More AP and more spell vamp. Sick.
Zhonya's Hourglass: I generally dont like to depend on 'use' items although I understand how effective they can be. The hourglass is a mage's best friend (as long as you have decently low cooldowns). You can blast people with Brand's combo, pop the hourglass, as soon as its over, unleash the combo again.
Brand is pretty awesome. He's the first mage champion I've truly enjoyed playing consistently. Also, I definitely think he's penta-kill worthy. With the amount of AoE damage he can dish out, he makes for a very scary addition to any team comp.
All-in-all, give him a try, he's fun.
I know this description and rundown of Brand isn't as fancy or flashy as the most builds on mobafire, but it's a decent build in my opinion. It's also my first build, and I'm too lazy to make everything pretty.
