Hiya , this guide will show you how i personally play Nocturne.This build is mainly for 3v3's while i use a slightly different build in 5v5's , Which i will explain later in the guide.

Greater Mark of Desolation Greater Quintessence of Desolation


Greater Mark of Desolation x 9 - These are pretty standard for any AD

Greater Seal of Attack Damage x 9 - Early game boost , u can change this with Armor runes if u prefer to be more on the defensive.

Greater Glyph of Attack Speed x 9 - love these , nice boost to your Atk Speed.

Greater Quintessence of Desolation x 3 - Same as Marks.

Alternatives :

Greater Seal of Armor x9 - if u want to be somewhat more resistent to AD opponents

Greater Glyph of Magic Resist x9 - Same as armor seals but against casters

Seals and glyphs are pretty much the only runes i would say u can change , changing the armor pen is pretty much a mistake imo , they are THAT good.

Not much to say here , The Masteries that I have chosen here are mostly standard DPS masteries . Feel free to change these as you like , but i prefer 21/0/9.

: This passive allows you to have much more sustainability in lane and with lifesteal items , it just gets better.

Q : This ability will boost your AD and movement speed and is awesome to help you farm , and also harass your enemy team (dont spam this ability too much early game because of mana problems) REMEMBER to use it while pushing towers to get that extra AD

W : This spellshield is useful in so many situations , it can save you from a Karthus's Requiem or a Nunu & Willump's Absolute Zero and so much other spells when timed right. Learn to time it right , it WILL save you

E : This is Nocturne's CC/fear. Awesome to use while Tryndamere uses his ult or while chasing/escaping.

R : Altough the range on this awesome ganking ability was drastically reduced , it still is the best ganking ability in my opinion and also gives that bonus dash damage while restricting the enemy's vision.

Sequence : A common question is why i rank up my E before my W for the attack speed.The answer is this : i dont feel like that attack speed is needed because we already have our blue runes for that and so prefer the extra duration on the fear instead , but u can also rank W before E if you want..if thats what u think suits you best.

Ok , the item build is situational so the items that are shown above arent right 100% of the time : If your farming well and getting kills and got enough gold for a straight away instead of a , then go for it. Also , when it comes to upgrading your , if you have enough for rather than , then go for it instead while still getting some lifesteal ( or Emblem of Valour if u want more) but still in my opinion the is a must on nocturne in 3v3 , while not as much on 5's.

5v5 - In 5v5's i tend to get an early and may not get a . Rest is pretty much the same while getting situational items according to their team.
P.S : That Frozen Mallet can be changed with anything like Madred's Bloodrazor , Infinity Edge or Guardian Angel for more defensive stats.

Situational items :

: When u need both Armor and MR , this thing also gives you an extra life every 5 mins (with 750hp) , what do u want more?

: Is that tank on your opponents side tanky as hell cause of massive hp? fear not , this is the counter.

: this item is obviously made to counter that annoying guy called jax , use its active so he cant dodge you for 8 seconds plus increased armor pen.

: for when your opponent's are getting armor , on top of giving you that armor reduce on every hit , it gives you AD and Attack speed! all that our Nocturne needs.

Btw , Buy Elixirs (Red and Green) when u feel like u have gold to spare. Also , buy wards before elixirs with spare gold ,its everyone's job in normal games apparently , since u rarely get supports.

: It wins you a 1v1 while losing you one if your lane opponent has it.

: For escaping through walls or catching up for that last hit on your opponent

Nocturne is one of those champions that with good farming skill , youll get ahead of items and just reap through your opponents , last hit last hit and LAST HIT
This game is all about farming well in my opinion. Sure if you have a chance for a kill u go for it , but if that option is not available , go push that lane or if u cant even do that ..go jungle a bit while getting some buffs while staying alert for ganks. I generally end long enough 3v3's with around 250 cs.

These are a few results with my build , remember that as long as u know how to farm and turn the game around , u can make a huge comeback so rly , dont give up if the game isnt 100% lost.
