Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Actually, this i my first time to build guide for you guys ^^ and I play League of Legend not in American server but the Asian server -_-, but....nvm. I really want to create Xerath build, since Xerath is one of my favorite champion of all freakin time, Xerath is a very strong long-ranged champion, which need a couple of tricks and combos to deal tons of damage to your opponent. Xerath can dominate like hell in the early game if done correctly and pretty good farmer in this game ^^, Xerath also can dominate the team fight since he can blast the enemies from far distance. Xerath should be in solo mid in all time.
In the ancient civilization of Shurima, the mage called Xerath practiced magic with undying passion. He believed that with enough magical power, he could gaze into the heart of Runeterra to know the secrets of history and the universe beyond. Such magic was beyond the limitations of a mortal body, but Xerath obsessively pursued a path to infinite power nonetheless. With every breakthrough he grew more and more powerful, yet not without consequence. Xerath's increasing arcane abilities wrought havoc on his physical form. Desperate, he undertook a dangerous ritual to transcend his dying body. The outcome would be immortality or self-destruction. Violent magic unleashed during the ritual caused devastation throughout Shurima, but when the dust settled, Xerath emerged as an ascended being of pure arcane energy.
Free of flesh and bone, Xerath held nearly infinite power at his command. However, in the wake of his chaotic ritual, the mages of Shurima feared his careless disregard for life would bring ruin to the kingdom. After a terrible struggle they subdued Xerath, but they could not destroy his ascended form. Instead they trapped him within an enchanted sarcophagus and sealed him in an underground tomb. Eons passed, civilizations rose and fell, and Xerath's imprisonment was lost to memory. For centuries, Xerath's vast power tore away at the sarcophagus and weakened its spell. Finally, he willed forth a burst of magic that shattered his prison, but its core remained, containing Xerath and his power within its broken pieces. Seeking to rid himself of this burden, he was drawn to the magic of Valoran's nexuses and found he could absorb their power. Yet the nexuses had gatekeepers: petty mages known as summoners. Xerath knew his key to true freedom from his prison lay in gaining their trust, and he offered his power to the League of Legends.
'I have no need for vengeance. Time has brought ruin to the mages of Shurima and I alone remain.' Xerath, the Magus Ascendant
Why Choose Xerath?
Cos Xerath is one of the most disturbing champion for you enemies, and he has a lot of advantages when you use them :
PROS ^_^ :
-Very strong in early game if done correctly.
-Can kill the target from long range.
-Get bonus armor from his passive make him quite tanky in late game.
-Can help your team to win in team fight in long range. (They can't reach you)
CONS -_- :
-Hard to win 1 on 1 when your ulti is on cooldown.
-Require expensive item to dominate the game.
-Locus of power has a long cooldown in early game, make your target escape.
Farming and Spell Combo
When an enemies minion waves come,, just use Locus of Power and immediately use Arcanopulse in straight line, then another Arcanopules if they still alive and you simply get gold LoL.
This is my deathly spell combo for Xerath :
[W] : First, use this skill to increase your range and increase your magic penetration.
[E] : Next, use this skill to hit your target and leave mark on it.
[R] : Use this skill only ONCE and stun them.
[Q] : Then, use this skill immediately when your target is stunned.
[R] : Finish them off with remaining 2 Arcane Barrage.
Warning ! : If you are silence when you haven't use Mage Chain and you are in Locus mode, immediately cancel the combo and out from the Locus mode until you are not silenced anymore and start from Locus mode.
: I take 0.95 armor penetration for Greater Mark of Insight to pierce my opponents with Xerath spell combo.
: I take 0.1 AP per level for Greater Seal of Force so you get AP when you leveling up.
: I take 0.17 AP per level for Greater Glyph of Force, you will get AP when you leveling up.
: I take + 5 AP for Greater Quintessence of Potency so you will get high AP from start.
For masteries, I use 9 in Offense, nothing in Defense, and 21 in Utility. This set of masteries can help ya to dominate in the early game and VICTORY in the end. Zzzzzz Read for yourself -_-
This is the list of core item to kick their butt :
Doran's Ring : This item should be taken at first, since you got health, mana regen, and 15 ability power, and also bonus armor with Xerath passive "Ascendant Form". You can take this item again just in case.
Sorcerer's Shoes : This item is not only gives you movement speed, but it is also to penetrate your target.
Rabadon's Deathcap : This item is the most important AP item for Xerath. Grap this immediately to help Xerath dominate even stronger.
Rylai's Crystal Scepter : This item is cool, it slow the enemies when you cast an ability on them, making you easier to stun after using Mage Chains.
Archangels Staff : This item also useful, since it gives you permanent mana everytime you cast a abilities, you will need a lot of clicking to kill the target, so is WOW.
Morello's Evil Tome : This item is crucial for Xerath, it will make you kill them even easier, since it gives you AP and cool down reduction.
Void Staff : This item is also support you in dominating the game since it gives you AP and 40 % magic penetration, you can grab this item earlier when they starting to build magic resist item.
Here is the list of item that you may wanna take in case of emergency :
Elixir of brilliance : You may wanna buy this item in case you can't kill the target or in other words, Hard.
Rod of ages : This item also quite good in early game, since it gives you bonus mana when leveling up and increase status permanently each minute passed.
Will of the ancient : This item also good enough if most of your team is using AP to fight, it not only gives you, but it also gives your allies an additional AP.
Zhonya's Hourglass : This item is good when you use it in perfect time, it help you to survive and disturb your enemies. Since you will be untargetable for 2 seconds, your team will take care the rest. SO, this item is very useful in team fight.
Forzen Heart : This item gives Xerath a lot of mana and make Xerath quite tanky, although this item is not really recommended.
The two of most important spell that Xerath should take is :
: To slow your opponent and easier to take them with your spell combo.
: To chase your opponent or flee from them when necessary, one of my favorite spell though -_-.
These are the spells that you should think TWICE before you bring them :
: To faster your movement speed, not really useful though.
: Heal you and your nearby allies when necessary good in early game but a bit useless in late game.
: Teleport you to nearby minion or turret, etc. but this spell is not recommended.
: Can gradually damage your opponent as a true damage, but you can kill them fast with your spell combo.
: Help you to gain mana when your mana is about to reach zero, is useful in early game, but useless in late game. (Trust Me -_-)
: Revive your champion , mmm a bit useless for me since your Xerath shouldn't die THAT easily.
Finally, these are the spell that you SHOULDN'T take :
: Place weird things to increase your DAMAGE, Zzzz cmon man.
: Leave this to tank champion.
: Go to hell la Zzzz
