I usually go top (as I said, because I prefer 2v2 as there are more enemies to kill :p) with Cass so I have golem proximity. Before I blue pill to get first items, I usually tell my lane partner to solo while I get the golem. You get it pretty fast (Cass can be played as a jungler too) and without losing much HP at all. Even if you go mid you can do it, after forcing your opponent go B. That is more than enough to prevent mana starvation. @Weakness, I'm glad it helped you!
