Introduction
Hai Guize! Wafflewarrior here to give you a little insight on Cassiopeia. Cassiopeia is a character that i picked up a couple months ago. If i knew how fun she was I would have bought her sooner. However, due to many feeding Cassiopeia's i was a little hesitant on whether she was worth the ip or not. BUT DON'T FRET! She is!

Ideal Runes
- Magic Penetration Marks and Quints help increase the damage output of your early game by a landslide.
- The Mana Regen Seals are hopefully self explainable since you are playing Cassiopeia.
- The extra ability power from Quints and Glpyhs at early game makes it easier for you to farm using your skills and lets you grab an easy first blood.
Alternative Runes
Marks
Greater Mark of Magic Penetration-These are pretty much the only marks to use on any Ability Power Champion. I do not suggest you use anything else.
Seals
Greater Seal of Armor-These are probably the best runes of its class. It will add some survivability to our build.
greater seal of vitality-The late game HP you will receive will help a lot, so these are also a good choice.
greater seal of replenishment-These are the flat mana regen seals. Overall, Greater Seal of Scaling Mana Regeneration is the best bang for the buck and has better performance.
Glyphs
Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power-Excellent runes and can be used. However, i really like the extra early game AP without having to buy a Doran's Ring.
Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction- Since we do not buy any CDR items, these runes are very good. So they are a good alternative.
Quintessences
Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed- Movement speed is always a good plus.
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power- Taking all three of these quints is also a very good idea. The downside is its expensiveness.
So this is the old mastery tree that I have used! With Cassiopeia's passive I don't really worry about mana regen so this offensive mastery tree is perfect. However i have recently changed the mastery tree. You might not have noticed, but compare this one to the one in the cheatsheet.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
Explanations:
The reason i do not take spell vamp in the mastery tree is because the spell vamp is pretty unnoticeable.
I made a little tweak to the mastery tree thanks to a suggestion from PsiGuard. Instead of putting 3 into Expanded Mind , I put it into Good Hands . Would you rather have 216 more mana at end game or would you rather have 10% off of your death timer? It might seem like a difficult choice. I assure you, it isn't. Having 216 mana is having an extra 3 noxious blasts. That is nothing compared to going back to lane faster, or respawning quickly to defend after a teamfight goes bad.
I think this list is pretty self explanatory! It's an upside-down pyramid.
You want Flash and Ignite ideally. However, if you are having a hard time landing your skill shots Exhaust might be right for you! Ghost combined with your Noxious Blast gives you super chasing abilities and a getaway.
Noxious Blast - Cassiopeia blasts an area with a delayed high damage poison, granting her increased Movement Speed if she hits a champion.
Cassiopeia blasts an area with a delayed high damaging poison, dealing 75/115/155/195/235 (+0.9) magic damage over 3 seconds and granting her 15/17.5/20/22.5/25% Movement Speed for 3 seconds if she hits a champion.
Cost
35/45/55/65/75 Mana
Range
850
This skill is what makes Cassiopeia such a good laner. This spell has great range and a very low mana cost. The fact that you are able to spam this skill to harass or farm makes it favorable to max first. The extra speed boost you get when you hit a champion is so potent when chasing or running away from the enemy. Note: Use this skill to check bushes, you will get a speed boost if you hit an enemy in the bush.
Miasma - Cassiopeia releases a cloud of poison, lightly damaging and slowing any enemy that happens to pass through it.
Cassiopeia releases a growing cloud of poison that lasts for 7 seconds. Any enemy that passes through it is poisoned for 2 seconds, dealing 25/35/45/55/65 (+0.15) magic damage each second and slowing them by 15/20/25/30/35%. Continual exposure renews this poison.
Cost
70/80/90/100/110 Mana
Range
850
Miasma is Cassiopeia's least damaging spell. It is more of a utility spell. The slow from Miasma coupled with the speed from Noxious Blast is what makes Cassiopeia so incredibly deadly. There are a variety of ways to use this spell:
- Your main combo (DUH)
- To farm (Q+E= entire wave of caster minions dead)
- To zone (you can push people away from their minions with this spell, so you are able to zone without putting yourself in harm.
Twin Fang - Cassiopeia lets loose a damaging attack at her target. If the target is poisoned the cooldown of this spell is refreshed.
Cassiopeia deals 60/95/130/165/200 (+0.55) magic damage to her target. If the target is poisoned then Twin Fang's cooldown is reduced to 0.5 seconds.
Cost
50/60/70/80/90 Mana
Range
700
Twin Fang is Cassiopeia's constant damage. Make sure you hit Noxious Blast or Miasma before using it. Do not try to spam this skill during your laning phase or you will run out of mana very quickly. Make sure you focus the "Top Priority Enemy" with this spell.
Petrifying Gaze - Cassiopeia releases a swirl of magical energy from her eyes, stunning any enemies in front of her that are facing her and slowing any others with their back turned.
Cassiopeia deals 200/325/450 (+0.6) magic damage to all enemies in front of her. Enemies facing her are stunned for 2 seconds while enemies facing away are slowed by 60%.
Cost
120/160/200 Mana
Range
750
This is one of the best ultimates in the game. Petrifying Gaze scares the **** out of your enemy. You can play some serious mind games with this skill because the enemy team won't know when you are planning to use it. I will go more in-depth on how to use this skill in a later chapter
Deadly Cadence(Passive) - After casting a spell any subsequent spellcasts will cost 10% less for 5 seconds. This ability stacks up to 5 times.
This is one of those passives that you don't really notice and is taken for granted. It helps you a lot during laning phase, allowing you to abuse your Noxious Blast or your Twin Fang.
Starting Items
-
+ 3x
(Good against Champs with skill shot harass. ie. Karthus, another Cassiopeia, Morgana, Ezreal)
-
+ 2x
(Good against champs that YOU can harass.)
- + (If you got the 9/0/21 mastery (Good if you are confident in your ability to push the other team's mid out of lane.)
Mid-Game Goals
or +
Depending on how your early game goes you want to either have a Rod of Ages or a Rylai's Crystal Scepter. Rod of Ages is unreal in how good it is for your laning phase. It allows you to spam skills without the feeling that mana is a crutch. Rylai's Crystal Scepter is good if you know how to conserve your mana or if you're jungler can constantly give you blue buff. Rabadon's Deathcap requires no explanation.(i hope)
End Game Goals / Finished Build
This build focuses on an easy laning phase which requires you to just farm. You pick up Will of the Ancients pretty late into the game because you have catalyst the protector to keep you sustained early game. This build snowballs into late game very well and requires good positioning.
This build requires you to play smarter. You do not have the mana boost from Rod of Ages so you cannot constantly spam. Early game will be a little more difficult, but you will be able to get to your core items a lot faster. You can buy a Hextech Revolver before you finish your Rylai's Crystal Scepter if you feel that you need more survivability. This build is geared more for organized teams where you know you will be able to get your hand's on blue for a majority of the game. This is also the build you want to take if your team is lacking CC.
Bad Early Game??
Doran Ring A lot of people underestimate the triple Doran's Ring. It gives you health, AP, and the ability to spam.
philosopher's stone Philosopher's stone This gives you some lane stay power and gold per 5.
sight wardWards Buy Wards Noob!
Getting focused?
Quicksilver Sash Highly underrated item that has saved me countless times.
Need End Game Survivability?
Banshee's Veil Similar to Quicksilver Sash but also gives health and mana.
Abyssal Scepter This item works well with Void Staff. It gives you damage and some magic resistance.
Okay Items
Morello's Evil TomeThis item is simply not as good as any of the core items. It gives cooldown reduction which is helpful but it lacks ability power.
Deathfire Grasp A great active but again, it lacks the ability power needed. The active bursts down one person but more ability power will let you shred through all five of the enemies.
Lich Bane Great for pushing towers, especially with Cassiopeia's spammable skills. However, i do not recommend this item since it is very expensive. You won't be able to get an autoattack off in fights if you are busy spamming your Twin Fang and Noxious Blast.
Note: If you are really struggling throughout the game, you can buy Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Rod of Ages in the same build. It is not limited to only one build.
Pros
- Gives you the ability to spam your spells
- Cheaper than Rod of Ages
- Gives about 110 ability power at max mana (Not including other mana items)
Cons
- Gives zero survivability
- Takes a while to build up when compared to Rod of Ages
- Does not benefit your early game
- Not needed as much because you should be getting blue buff
Farming
- Cassiopeia is a great farmer. Her farming skillset is identical to Morgana. You throw down your Noxious Blast and a Miasma onto the ranged minion wave and they will all die. Or you can use two Noxious Blast.
- Last hit with your auto attack.
WOMBO COMBO
- Farming:
+
Throw these two spells onto the caster minions to clear them. You have to last hit the melee minions or Q spam them until they die. This should give you the entire wave, but you should only do this after you get your catalyst so you are able to regain your mana after you level. Use this lazy farming method if you WANT to push the lane.
- Laning:
+
+
+
This should be your harass combo. Do not overuse it, because it will drain your mana.
- Dueling:

If you bush camp until an enemy appears and use this combo, you are almost guaranteed a kill.
