Chaotic Theory-Crafting brings you Kassadin, The Void Walker. This build will be similar to that of my Kayle build, but Kassadin will have Mejai's>Nashor's Tooth and Summoner Spells.

Masteries & Summoner Spells

Its a caster build, 10/0/20. Ive taken Burning Embers for the extra AP. Ive got Spatial Accuracy to make porting faster. We all know that Kassadin is know for is great mobility.

Other great spells that work with Kassadin are Flash, Exhaust, Ghost, and Cleanse.

Skills

Im following the popular things here, and going to max Force Pulse. At LvL5 you should have 3/5 Force Pulse. Always take one of everything byt LvL3. Kassadin has a shallow mana pool so if you are forcing someone in your lane to pull back, melee the minions to get mana back. It might give you very little from minions, but meleeing will save mana since you wont be spending mana to cast Null Sphere to last hit. Dont worry about stacks for Force Pulse, they will come.

I use Null Sphere for harassment eary and mid game. Force Pulse is the dmg dealer, and Nether Blade will be helping refund mana so you can lane longer. When it comes to late game you will be using Null Sphere more often so than you will be ranking it up. Just how I do it.

Runes

Marks Mpen as for all my AP builds.

Seals Ive choosen Mana regen per LvL. These will help him with his mana issues.

Glyphs Ive got a mix of Mana regen per LvL and Mpen. These will help with dmg output and mana issues he has.

Quintessences More Mpen. You come out to about 17Mpen at the start of the game. Thats more than half of most champs starting MR. So you wont only be silencing while you harass, you will be mini nuking.

Items

Amplifying Tome= 20AP
Mejai's Soulstealer= 20 Ability Power. UNIQUE Passive: Your champion gains 8 ability power per stack, receiving 2 stacks for a kill or 1 stack for an assist. This effect can stack 20 times; you lose a third of your stacks if you die. At 20 stacks, your champion's cooldowns are reduced by 15%.
Tier 1 boots= Speed +1
Ruby Crystal= 180 health
Catalyst the Protector= +290 Health +325 Mana Passive: Restores 300 Health and 250 Mana upon leveling up.
RoA= +380 Health +425 Mana +50 Ability Power Passive: Your Champion gains 18 Health, 20 Mana, and 2 Ability Power every 1 min. Bonuses cap at +270 Health, +300 Mana, and +30 Ability Power.
Kage's Lucky Pick= +25 Ability Power Passive: Gain an additional 5 Gold every 10 seconds.
Sorcerer's Shoes= +20 Magic Penetration UNIQUE Passive: Enhanced Movement 2
Sheen= +250 Mana +25 Ability Power UNIQUE Passive: When an ability is used, your base damage is increased by 100% for your next attack. This effect has a 2 second cooldown
Blasting Wand= 40AP
Lich Bane= +350 Mana +80 Ability Power +30 Magic Resist +7% Movement Speed UNIQUE Passive: 100% chance when an ability is used that your next physical attack deals an additional 100% of your Ability Power in damage. This effect has a 2 second cooldown
Fiendish Codex= +30 Ability Power +7 Mana Regeneration per 5 UNIQUE Passive: Reduces ability cooldowns by 10%.
Deathfire Grasp= +60 Ability Power +10 Mana Regen per 5 Sec UNIQUE Passive: Reduces ability cooldowns by 15%. UNIQUE Active: Deals magic damage to target champion equal to 30% of their current health (+3.5% per 100 Ability Power) with a miminum of 200 damage. 1 minute cooldown.
Blasting Wand= 40AP
Pickaxe= 25AD
Gunisoo's Rageblade=+35 Attack Damage +45 Ability Power Passive: On attack or spell cast, increases your Attack Speed by 4% and Ability Power by 6. Lasts 5 seconds (stacks up to 8 times).
Needlessly Large Rod= 80AP
Zhonya's Ring= +120 Ability Power UNIQUE Passive: Increases Ability Power by 25% UNIQUE Active: Places your champion into Stasis for 2 seconds, rendering you invulnerable and untargetable but unable to take any actions. 90 sec cooldown.

Like I said its a lot like my Kayle Build, but with Kassadin's hypermobility he will be a slilghtly better ganker. That will give him the stacks he needs early game.

Items that can be swapped out

Ive seen RoA, RCS, AA, and BV on Kassadin's before, and they all seem to have their uses.

Game PLay

Early Game
If you play 5v5, I strongly think Kassadin should be a mid laning champ. He has great harassment, and the means of getting mana back without having to recall. I start with Amp Tome and mana pots. This will help you stay in lane. If you are in a side lane, you will still have these same qualities, only less XP. Now you will want to get Mejai's and boots here. Let Kage's sit for a lil bit and get you gold. You will start working on DFG and LB also. Get Fiendish Codex and Sheen. They are simple enough to make, and its always nice to have that extra power. Now remember that Force Pulse is priority. Get one of each skill by LvL3, but Force Pulse is first to max

Mid Game
Here you will have stacks, completed LB and DFG, and start on a Guinsoo's Rageblade. You will be doing well, and if you can get Golem Buff, you will be doing great. Remember that Kassadin has some of the best mobility in the game via Rift Walk and Teleport. Dont be afraid to go Mia, and gank.

Late Game
The best part about late game is making Zhonya's Ring. If it lasts that long. Now here is where Kassadin is very dangerous. He can Rift Walk in, Force Pulse, Null Sphere, Rift Walk out. Thats one thing that Kassadin does best. He has the power to nuke the whole team, silence the Carry, chase with Rift Walk, and escape with Rift Walk. All of this can happen within a few seconds. Kassadin is one of those champs that if he is feed or has a great early game, you are in for a long game.

1v1 & Jungling

1v1 with Kassadin is always a bit funny. What I like about Kassadin is his mobility and nuking. DFG>Rift Walk>Force Pulse, Null Sphere, Rift Walk, Auto Attack. Yes I said Auto Attack. Using Nether Blade's active will give you ArP. And if you are getting the best out of his ult, and Rageblade, you will be swinging like Olaf with 1% HP and Kayle's Intervention. Not really, but you get the point.

Jungling is simple with Kassadin. Force Pulse the camps and move to buffs. Golem Buff is best for Kassadin. This will help with mana issues. The great thing about Kassadin is moblity again. Why? You can use wards on Dragon, Baron, Golem, and Lizard and port to them. Its best to put wards in bushes so if you port in they cant see you. Stealing the enemies buffs is fun, and they hate when it happens.

Ganking & Team Pushing

Ganking is like Jungling. Set up Wards in bushes in all the key places. The bushes in River, Golem and Lizard Buffs, and other various places. Be mindful of the lanes. If you catch someone over exteneding, you are ready for a gank. Make shrewd use of Wards. Once you start a gank. DFG>Rift Walk>Force Pulse> Null Sphere> Rift Walk> Auto Attack.

Team Pushes you are Rifting in and out, Force Pulsing, silencing, and using ignite to light people up. There isnt much more to it. Just know that you need to be safe in team fights. Kassadin will be focused so he cant cause the havoc he is known for.

Friends & Enemies

Most of the time Stunners and taunters are your best friends. Anyone that will let you come in, nuke without taking dmg, and get back out. You cant beat that kind of fun stuff. Kassadin can escape but he isnt all that durable. So find a lane mate that can solo a lane if you need to recall.

Enemies are nukes and other heavy DPS champs. Tyrndamere can cause a lot of issues since he can keep you slowed, and can close the gap. Kat is a problem too. She has just as good mobility.
