Thanks for upvoting my guide, I really appreciate it. Can you please explain why you do not think that Rod of Ages and Zhonya's Hourglass are good items on AP Cho? I'm also interested in your possible alternatives for these items. Besides, I have included an alternative skill sequences which makes Feral Scream so alternatives are provided I just prefer maxing Rupture myself.

Thanks again for your comment.

Anyway, for starters, i play a more defensive style of cho. around 300 ap max, and this one is near 600 with rabaddon's. so that may be part of the difference.
Ahh... no problem. it deserved it. i don't like RoA, first of all, because it takes too much time and gold. although a good item, i prefer my mana with cdr, i tend not to get hp on cho (although feel free too as long as it's not a warmog's) and because it's more of a defensive item for a caster than a damage item for an off-tank. as to zhona's, i don't like the active. besides that, it's a decent item. it's just been my experience that if you want survivability, the survivability items are most cost efficient and the same with the damage. as to alternates, i would recommend either a Force of Nature or Banshee's Veil inplace of the RoA and a Frozen Heart instead of the zhona's. but those are more defensivly oriented. however, i think that at least you need some more mr in the build.

and anyway, i think this cho is a bit too fragile. while ap cho is quite potent, it's difficult for him to get in for the feast. i can tell that this isn't pure ap, which is good, i just think it needs a bit more defence. i might be wrong, so please let me know if i am.

Thank you for your comment and your thoughts. The items you have pointed out are good, but I do not really feel like building them on a mage (in my guide Cho'Gath is treated as a mage, an unusual one but still). I have never seen a Malzahar with Force of Nature or Frozen Heart xD, but the items are of course still great on Cho.

The real thought behind this guide is: "I am already tanky so why build more tankyness?", it is the same thing as, for example, with Irelia and Mercury's Treads: "Extra CC reduction is amazing or is it overkill?". Cho'Gath is with his Rod of Ages and Abyssal Scepter/ Zhonya's Hourglass still quite tanky, especially for a mage (assuming you have about 3-6 Feast stacks). Personally I have never problems with getting in range of the enemy for my Feast because Cho'Gath can silence a lot of them with Feral Scream and his Rupture will prevent them running away.

However, there is a small catch here. Mage Cho is significantly harder to play than Tank Cho due to the fact that you become a target for the enemy team. Cho's positioning and timing are significantly harder when playing him this way but if played right, he sure is a beast on the fields of justice!

Anyway, thanks for responding to me and I really hope that you will give AP Cho'Gath a shot.

Great guide, i was gonna try to say a constructive criticism, but then i saw this guide is greatly built and that there isn't much to improve atm. however, you might want to add a few notes on what items to take in case the team suddenly needs a tank:

ex:

Chapter???: Situational build\items (optional)

having pesky cassiopia on the enemy team? feel like even with your gigantic damage you still dont survive till the end of a fight? why dont you try out this! :

with great magic resist, awesome health regeneration, and the unique +%hp regen passive, this item can save you in many situations, adding the unique passive, the Rod of Ages and your FEAST, you can get into some real heck of a nice health regen in no time! with sacrificing only one item slot you will gain whatever survivability you needed during those fights! i recommend swaping Etc Etc Etc or combining with the Abyssal Scepter's awesome magic resist no cassiopia will dare to waste her mana on you anymore!!! happy feast gentlemen!.

Feeling like the enemy team has too much magic resist? 150~ magic resist for enemy team and with 4 AD annoying munchkinz over there? there's no problem gentlemen! simply add to the equation!, wasting a tiny bit of that no longer strong AP, in order to counter counter them with suprising amounts of AD, still having strong spells yet some attack damage with allow you to still participate in damage dealing, + you have your feast and [rod of ages] so what harm caused? :D

anyway i know i put it very commercial like here, but its just an example, if you do write those items down do it a bit less optimistic and more guide-like :)

Your comment is appreciated thanks, but I am not sure if I would do this. I mean would you build a Force of Nature or an Atma's Impaler on Orianna for example? My guide treats Cho'Gath as a mage and the items you have suggested sure are not mage items. Banshee's Veil is mentioned in the guide by the way.

I will see what I do with this, for now thanks for your comment.
