Excuse me for publishing my guide too early by accident - I am still going to cover what's "Soon to come!" and "under construction"
Due to the reason that it needs pictures that I still have to make.

Thank you for your understanding, but don't let this stop you from reading the guide so far!
Enjoy, and thank you for reading!

Well delivered guide, which is presented neatly and visually clear. Grand depth with plentiful amount of selections given to choose from. Hopefully the rest of the guide will follow said trend which I shall further await to see.

Pros / Cons

Should include that he has an internal Smite-like ability which can be used to steal objectives like Baron via with Flash and Feast combo. Also, probably worth changing "small AoE stun" into "Small AoE knock-up" since its technically not a stun (can't be Cleanse).

Runes

Should consider including Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed as I find that they're very viable and the utility provided through movement speed from chasing, escaping and positioning make them so.

Skill Sequence

I don't quite understand the concept of leveling Rupture over Feral Scream in the Skill Sequence 1 section. Leveling Feral Scream not only provides reliable damage as you pointed out but increasing improved CC from the silence duration. I don't really have any issues with landing Rupture yet I personally level Feral Scream in priority and I can't really think of a situation in which I wouldn't unless zoned out 2vs1. At mid against any AP you'd want the extra silence duration and at top there's just so many ways for champions of that position to avoid Rupture easily such as: Spinning Slash, Pounce, Valor and just general awareness of the mechanics of said ability. Although Feral Scream is technically a skill-shot its very hard to miss.

Items

I think Wit's End is worth a mention especially if your going an anti-mage direction with your build if against some formidable AP opponents. Regarding Lich Bane it presently doesn't apply to Vorpal Spikes seeing as its a toggle-able passive thus doesn't really serve any use for Cho'Gath.

Thanks for the marvelous comment Zell.

Pros / cons. I wanted to discuss the baron steal with Feast in the " Feast - Tips and tricks". But I will most certainly add it in the "pros" and refer to the title given above.

Will add the quintessence, since it is viable indeed.

Rupture delivers more burst damage and you don't have to get so close in range to hit an enemy ( Rupture has 250 more range). And in the end, Feral Scream costs more mana than Rupture.
Maybe it is personal preference, but I most certainly prefer leveling Rupture above Feral Scream.

Wit's End -> I knew I forgot something ;)!
Thanks for clearing the Lich Bane doubts I had. Will add Wit's End instead

ps: Thanks again for the nice comment -> +rep for you

Drasq

Nice start. You should point out the difference of your build to the gentleman build:
http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/a-gentlemans-way-of-playing-chogath-86284

My 50 cent:
- Watch Hotshotgg play (probably best cho gath player ever)

- Build after and forget in standard build

- Max lvl if your lane enemy is slow and stupid / Level if you cant get them with ;)

- Learn to get teammates out of trouble or enemies in trouble with your cc´s

- Explain the Combo // and how to use it

Regards,
Hannes

@HAnnesKannes

I aint going to start with pointing out all the differences with all the high rated Cho'Gath builds out there. The differences speak for itself. My explanations are different, item choices slightly different,... etc

forgetting Rod of Ages in your core build will evolve in having no power at all instead of being a meat shield. If you want to be a meat shield, get Malphite.

Why do you tell me to "learn to get teammates out of trouble..." while you never saw me play?

PS : If you want to build a pure tank Cho, Rod of Age's isn't that good. You may want some other mana item.

If you want to go AP, you may want to go pure AP, for much more damage, etc Feast damage increase, natural damage much bufferred etc.

Hope it helps :)

Amumu Guide :D

Eve guide :D

Hope whatever I say helps! :D

PS : Not all my criticism is good. Most of the time, I just talk like that anyway. So forgive me if you get offended, unless you just can't look from my angle, or at least close enough.

It's not purely for the mana why we take Rod of Ages but, because we want to add some damage as a tank, you have to be a threat and a damn tanky one. As I stated above. Just being a meatshield doesn't give the enemy a reason to focus you. Only the 'less inteligent' (not pointed to you, but speaking in general) will attack a tank who doesn't mean much besides "big HP, large amount of resistance"... A viable option to replace Rod of Ages in the tanky build would be Abyssal Scepter or Rylai's Crystal Scepter in my humble opinion.

Don't forget to vote ;)

This guide is awesome.

Rod of Ages is easily one of the strongest items for Cho'Gath. I like how you build him tanky, and I like how you balance AP with his tankyness. And you picked tanky masteries, thank god.

Good explanations, good ideas here, and a good guide overall. Nice guide.

I like your guide and I like to play cho top lane in ranked. I prefer to get boots of switftness because of the way I play. I like to push my lane hard and try and gank mid while top is pushing back and being quick allows me to do that. I agree with maxing Rupture first, it his his highest damage ability other than his ult.
