The thing about Rod of Ages and Rylai's Crystal Scepter is that they offer no resistances (armor, MR), just HP, so since Cho gets HP from Feast stacks, I chose to go Frozen Heart and Spirit Visage because I will be in the middle of the fight instead of just casting spells from the outside. In addition, Frozen Heart provides mana, and Spirit Visage provides HP, so you're not missing out on much by not getting Rod of Ages (the AP comes from Nashor's Tooth) With out armor and MR to back up your HP, you will lose it all a lot quicker.
That's just my playstyle with Cho'Gath in top lane. If I was going mid, I might get Rod of Ages instead, but this is a unique guide for top lane. Thanks for commenting!
But I'll try one time to check. :)
Freaking riot lies.
-1, wrong runes (attack speed is for the jungle) and items (Nashor's Tooth is a huge pile of useless)
This is rather harsh; just because the sight of attack speed makes you think the build is rubbish, doesn't mean it is. After having tried this, it actually worked pretty well for me (I went 9/2/11 on my first Cho'Gath game with this), and dishing out -1s because you disagree on the look of an item build is something I consider to be rather offending towards the author who has put quite a bit of time and effort into this, especially if you haven't tested it.
~No offence meant, just my opinion~
To Laggermeister, the reason I go AS is so I can win longer trades between tanky enemies. Vorpal Spikes only launches when you auto attack, so having a higher AS = higher damage output. I realize AS is mostly in the jungle, but given the unique style of this build, I hope you understand that they're not necessarily "uselss". Thanks for the comment though haha.
Welcome to MobaFire and thanks for creating a guide!
After having read your guide, the build (items, runes, masteries etc.) looks pretty good, and I tested it out. It worked pretty well, so thanks for that!
I can also see that you have put quite a bit of effort into explaining the logic behind your choices, what to do in-game etc. So good job on that =) What could be added is a Matchups section, and a section on what to do at certain stages of the game (early, mid and late).
What your guide lacks, however, is the lay-out and BBCoding part(such as Cho'Gath). Seeing as this is your first guide, I can understand it is pretty overwhelming to try and code your guide. To make it look less like a chapter in a schoolbook, however, I would recommend trying your hand at it and being creative =) It would make your guide a lot easier to read, and it's quite fun to do!
Here's the link to the beginner's guide for BBCoding, created by jhoijhoi: Making a guide.
I will not vote for now, although I will vote once you have added a little style to your guide =)
TL;DR
Build:Looks good(tested)!
Explanation:Seems pretty good, try adding a little more detail like matchups.
Formatting&BBCoding:Terrible, but I trust this will be added soon =)
Spelling&Grammar:Excellent, only found a few minor mistakes(some it's that should be its).
Overall, a good 1st guide. Keep adding more stuff and you've got yourself something good!
