Pros

Due to Dr. Mundo's passive Adrenaline Rush he has some of the best sustain in the game right now and after lv6 with Adrenaline Rush and Sadism you are pretty much un-gankable. When late game comes you just stick to the enemy carries during team fights and pop you Sadism when you get low you become a nightmare to the enemy team. Due to your Masochism, Sadism, and Adrenaline Rush scaling off your health if you stack as much health as possible you cant be killed and your damage output is still really good.

- True damage and % damage counter him
- If he falls behind hes worthless
- Relies on team in team fights
- Common ban in ranked
- Struggle early game
- Hard to land Infected Cleaver in team fight
Dr. Mundo is an amazing champion but like all champs he has some cons the first one being he his damage scales with health witch is great but if someone builds a Blade of the Ruined King it takes a chunk out of your health and another problem is Ignite is a big counter to Dr. Mundo and its one of the most popular summoner spells so theirs almost no way of getting away from it. Another problem with Dr. Mundo is with Infected Cleaver being a big portion of his damage in team fights there extremely hard to hit so your so all u can really do is stick to the enemy carries with Burning Agony and Masochism.


Smite is obviously a must have item when your jungling. I go Stalker's Blade just for the slow so I can hit the enemy with a Infected Cleaver. Cinderhulk enchantment gives you 15% bonus health and since Dr. Mundo scales so well with health its pretty much the only viable enchantment on Dr. Mundo jg.

Exhaust is great when your playing Dr. Mundo support,top,and jungle. It keeps the enemy in place so you can perma slow them with your Infected Cleaver and kill them with your Burning Agony and Masochism.

Ghost allows you to chase and play more aggressive also allows you to escape. One of the other options is flash but flash only works well on Dr. Mundo pre six. After lv 6 Dr. Mundo doesn't really need to Flash out of situations he has time to run away with ghost plus Ghost lets you cover more distance.

Teleport is a must. I bring Teleport on every top laner no matter what. Teleport is an essential for all top laners it allows you to tp gank, get to lane without loosing much cs/xp, split push, and gives you the ability to have greater map control.

Infected Cleaver is your main and most important ability with Dr. Mundo. If you cant do anything else just make sure you can land your Infected Cleaver's. When you land Infected Cleaver it refunds all cost making it a great tool to farm with, poke with,engage with, and escape with. Infected Cleaver also gives you a perma slow and is on an insanely low cool down.

Burning Agony is a great ability for just about every thing Dr. Mundo does. Early game Burning Agony costs a lot of health so you have to be cautious when you use it but after you get a core item your pretty much free to use it as much as you want. Its a great form of cc and it gives you tenacity.

Masochism is most of Dr. Mundo's damage. Masochism does 1 bonus damage for every 1% health missing, it also does 5% of your current health as damage. Masochism also work on towers.

Sadism gives you the power to do what you want when you want. Dr. Mundo practically becomes unkillable if used at the right time. if you are ahead you can pretty much tower dive when ever your ult is up if used at the right time because it gives you a ridiculous amount of movement speed. Sadism is used to engage, disengage, or just for more lane sustain.

Infected Cleaver and Burning Agony scales really well witch magic pen and Masochism with armor pen making it really hard to counter build Dr. Mundo.

Mundo's Masochism scales with health so this gives Dr. Mundo extra tank and a little bit of extra damage making them perfect.

As Dr. Mundo you don't really but much cdr, the only item you get that gives you cdr is Spirit Visage witch is only 10%. With these runes you get an extra 5% cdr on top of that 10% from Spirit Visage witch put your cleavers on a 3.4 second cool down.

Its always good to have extra mr from the start. really helps when your going against supports like karma or lux.

Dr. Mundo has no form of escape making him extremely susceptible to ganks early game. That's why we go with Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed this helps mundo escape, re position himself for cleavers and most importantly "Go where he pleases".

Grasp of the Undying is my personal favorite keystone to bring on Dr. Mundo. Its great for support Dr. Mundo and top Dr. Mundo.
Grasp of the Undying takes 3% of your maximum health away from the enemy. Since all of your other abilities scale with health this is the perfect keystone.

Bond of Stone is another great option on Dr. Mundo it reduces all incoming damage by 3% and it doubles if your by allies. I usually only bring this on support Dr. Mundo because 6% damage reduction all laning phase is insane and it makes adc's scared to death to leave there tower.

Strength of the Ages is another option but compared to the other options I feel like this one is the least useful. Yes Dr. Mundo scales really well with health and this gives you bonus health for every siege minion and large monster you kill but the main problem is it takes way to long to stack it doesn't help you to much in laning phase and if your playing support Dr. Mundo you only will get a stack when you use relic shield on a siege minion.
