Introduction

let me start by saying that i dont waste time maxing Irelia's potential. I always start as a jungler, killing our wolves to start the match. I then usually solo the top and farm with bladesurge. i recall to get the berserkers and then get the golem buff. because of the runes and masteries you will OWN the early game. after a bit longer on top i recall again to get malady. after this point you are going to want to get a team attack on the dragon, activating all of your abilities. toward level 14 you should be able to get the trinity force, and once you do you enemies might as well surrender. this character is the single best person for this item., she benefits from every aspect of this, so your money wasn't wasted. After this i get the bloodthirster just to maximize my damage output and life steal, if you are having trouble, but the spirit visage early to gain extra heal from hiten style. Again because she is mixed i always get a hextech gunblade to gain spell vamp and power. finish it off with spirit visage (if you haven't already) just to give extra power to life steal, hiten style, and spell vamp. As you can see i don't get very much armor penetration, so try to avoid tanks, and just target the squishy targets they protect. Also i rely on life steal and spell vamp for my survive ability more then armor, so make sure to get your hits in. This build will have you owning up the battlefield, especially at early times.

Runes

i chose the mark of desolation because both her "Q", and "R" are physical attacks.
the seal of fortitude is for her early game domination (with this build she will start with 514 health, and 515 gold, allowing for 4 hp potions, this is before items.) Anyway the glyph of alacrity is to farm monsters with you hiten style. Again the Quintessence of desolation is for armor penetration.

Masteries

i made these masteries for early game potential, because a good start leads to a great finish. with the 0/9/21 build you have all of the extra ability, you can also do 20/9/1 or 8/21/1 builds for different play styles.

Items

oooooooo items, the backbone of this entire game. i chose a mixed build, i've played this build and beaten down the barbarians, and the tanks. I always rush a berserkers and malady for that extra attack speed early game. If you want to you can replace the berserkers for mercury treads for tenacity and armor. Also you can replace the hextech gunblade with a defensive item like randuin's omen or guardian angel. otherwise this build has been very succeful in the past, and only costs around 15k for the final items here.
