Introduction

Good day to you, sir or madam! I am the renowned, mentally unstable Taric main! It will be a pleasure for me to bring forth every ounce of information about my favorite champion in the entire game into this guide alone.

My Qualifications:

This is my 6th build/guide on Mobafire, my 4th on Taric alone. I have around 750 games on him, and he has been my 'One Trick Pony' champion since his rework came out. Since then, I have learned what's good and what's not too good on this fabulous hunk of man that stands before us. I have taken every item I could on him, I have taken him every role I could, I have carried multiple games with him, multiple pentakills with him, and so on.

Why should you use my guide?

Most of the other guides I see on Taric only focus one of his many playstyles. (I believe there are 4 playstyles to him.) Here, I will incorporate multiple different options for you to take, and you can use the one that most suits the way you want to play the game (or the way your ADC wants you to play the game, in some cases O_O). Additionally, experience is what makes a good build and guide, and that's what I have. Experience. XD

"I don't agree with something in your build."

Please, please, PLEASE tell me! I love feedback, and I am more than happy to listen to everyone's preferences so that I can incorporate them somewhat into this guide someday. Again, please send a comment!

Pros / Cons

Pros:
    CC!
    Great against AD teams!
    Wonderful pressure early game!
    Lifesaving ultimate and shields!
    Wonderful hair!
    Great teamfight presence!
    Not banned every game!

Cons:
Poor against a lot of AP...
Gets poked easily in poke lanes...
    People call you gay...

Runes

The runes I take are the standard Taric runes out there right now. And, with the rune rework coming, it might honestly screw up how fabulous Taric is in the early game. Some really good Taric mains that I know and talk to will disagree that this is not the best rune page on him, but the majority (and I) settle for this one.

9x Greater Mark of Armor
9x Greater Seal of Armor
9x Greater Glyph of Magic Resist
3x Greater Quintessence of Armor

Some people would argue scaling MR Blues instead of flat, or scaling health yellows instead of armor, but these make you an absolute beast early game, where it really matters. That's why I like this.

Masteries

Courage of the Colossus

CotC has been a valuable ally in lane, because of the shield I get from stunning an enemy. Let's say I throw a stun into a bush I can't see into. If my shield goes off, they're in the bush. Simple. I've tried Windspeaker's Blessing , but I can't switch over to it from Courage of the Colossus . If Windspeaker's Blessing works for you, by all means take it! I'm just saying I find more success with Courage of the Colossus in lane, and that's all that really counts.

THE CUNNING TREE

In this tree, I would say that every one of the masteries is a requirement. Secret Stash helps a lot with sustain in lane, Wanderer helps with movement speed, Meditation is wonderful with mana sustain, and Bandit is just a requirement for supports. You need more gold!

THE RESOLVE TREE

Unyielding = Armor! You scale with armor!
Siegemaster = The ARMOR! Well, I mean, if you want Tough Skin , that's also a viable option. But ARMOR!
Runic Armor = The shield and healing power scales really well if you want to go towards the non-tank side a bit. With certain items, you can really feel these effects.
Perseverance = I'd actually take any of those three, because they all really help with tankiness. but Perseverance helps with the ARMOR!
Legendary Guardian = ARMOR!
Courage of the Colossus = Funtimes.

I mean, these aren't set in stone, and you can change them around.
But these are good enough for me, so they're good enough for everyone.

BRAVADO, TARIC'S PASSIVE

"After casting an ability, Taric's next two basic attacks within 4 seconds each gain 100% total attack speed, deal 22 - 90 (based on level) (+ 15% bonus armor) bonus magic damage and reduce the cooldowns of his basic abilities by 1 - 0.55 (based on cooldown reduction) seconds, and granting one charge of Starlight's Touch."

STARLIGHT'S TOUCH, TARIC'S Q ABILITY

"Passive: Taric stores a charge of Starlight's Touch periodically, up to a maximum at once. Starlight's Touch cannot be cast without charges.
Active: Taric heals all nearby allied champions, with the amount increasing with every stored charge at the time of cast."

Maximum Charges = 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 (per level)
Health Recovered = 30 + (20% AP) + (1% Maximum HP) (per stack)

Taric can self-cast Bastion to shield himself and his marked ally if he's within range, or the nearest ally. Only one champion can be marked at a time, and selecting a new ally clears the previous mark."
