Introduction

Graves is one of the BEST AD Carrys you can play as currently. His skills combine several other ADs into one skill. He has the movement speed with his E, the attack speed with E as well, His Q can farm and do damage like no other, his W can be game breaking and completely change team fights, and his Ult kills everything. I will do my best to go over everything Graves has to offer so you can carry and win the game with Graves.

Keep in mind this is my first guide so any and all feedback is helpful to making this guide and future guides the best they can be.

Runes

The rune set for Graves is quite standard for AD carrys (so it seems for me.)

AD Red - Gives the extra damage early game to make last hitting easier. Helps you win fights and does what it needs to do. Best in slot at the moment.

Armor Yellow - Gives the early game armor to help in small fights. With these he can take some extra hits and come out alive. Pretty standard for all ADs.

MR Blue - Gives all the MR you really need until you need to get a QSS. Best in slot so he can focus on damage.

AD Quints - Just like the red, give him the extra damage for last hitting and extra damage.

Masteries

21/9/0 seems to work best on Graves. Give him all the added bonuses for AD and the 9 in defence to help him stay alive. Not much to say here as it is pretty self explanatory.

Items

Now this is where you see a lot of similarities to the other ADs but allows room for customization. Depending on what you need or how the game is playing out, you can easily change up what order you buy things, or even what you buy, to help win the game.

Starting off, graves has two options to start.
He can start of with a if the support is Sona, Soraka, or Alistar.
If any other support or he needs to mobility more Start of with and 3 .

One your first trip back you should have saved up around 1450 gold. This will ensure you have enough to have 2 and a This is your bread and butter building into a If you are good at making the most of it, buy it. If you are unsure of being able to use it, then skip it. With Wriggle's you should be zoning your opponent, warding their blue or a bush if need be, and forcing dragon. Wriggle's is such a strong buy, you need to make the most out of it as you should now be winning your lane, and be quite farmed.

Once you have gotten your Wriggle's, you need to start working on getting your . If can last hit well enough, get a dragon or 2, and a few kills or assists, you should be getting it under 20 minutes.

Once you have gotten your IE, start working on your Now this is where changing the build really happens. If the other team now has 3 or more people with 100+ armor, buy a then instantly start building a Now if the other team is high AP and a lot of CC, instead of building the Last Whisper, build your You don't do any damage if you can't live long enough.

After your buy your PD, LW and QSS are the next targets. After all that, you need to buy your if you haven't already. When you buy your Boots, it depends on weather or not you had the extra gold, or needed them sooner. There is no sure way to say when to buy your boots, so it is all up to how the game is playing out.

After all this, the last item you should consider buying is a You can sell your Wriggles for it, but only buy BT last. Everything else is to important to keep you alive so you can deal the damage.

One thing to consider is that if you don't need a QSS or LW (which is rare) you can replace them for more damage items or something else you need. This is rare to happen but can.

Skill Sequence

R-Q-E-W

should be taken when ever you can. It is one of the strongest ults you can have. Dealing so much damage to the first target it hits, and can still injury all other enemies if aimed well. Think having MF ult but instant and people can't dodge half way through.

Should be maxed first (other then ult) Is is having several different skills in one. It can farm a creep wave in 1 shot, hit all 5 enemies and do a lot of damage. It can also be used shooting into a bush to hear if it hits an enemy. The AOE on it is very nice, but can be hard to hit up close. Practice with this skill is important, and once you master it you will be dominating whatever you hit with it.

is next. Use it to catch up or escape an enemy, use it to jump over small walls, and use it purely for the attack speed it gives. This skill can be used it so many ways and once taken advantage of, it beyond useful. One thing to note is when you use the skill, each auto attack while it is active will lower the cool down by 1 second. So mid-late game you can be able to use it right after it finishes if you can auto attacking the whole time.

is a game breaking ability. One need 1 point in it at level 4, and maxed last, it still does what it needs. It denies vision on ramps, or in a bush, and it slows movement speed. Used defensibly to escape a gank, or offensively to catch a fleeing target. Use it on a ramp and the other team wont dare pass it. Late game when maxed even does enough damage to hurt the target if thrown on top. Every other skill is needed to be maxed first, but don't underestimate this ability and it's uses are unlimited.

Summoner Spells

I feel as if is a must on an AD carry now. It will allow you to stay alive in a 2v2 fight on the other AD. It isn't worth having your support run it as you will not receive the full heal with it, which may cost you your life.

is needed to catch a target or escape that gank. Pretty common to see almost everyone using this. I feel it is still a must.

Other abilities to think about taking is Ignite or Exhaust
This depends on what your team comp is or who you are against. Ignite will help secure the kill if needed.

Summary

Graves is an all around beast who can melt the other team, change a team fight, and just outright farm. Use him to his full potential and you will be the best controlling bottom and winning the game. He is much stronger then he may look and can put fear into his enemies.
