Yes nobody should have -1 this as much as they did, because it DOES WORK so surely a -1 isn't right? I just prefer tanking and wanted to give my 2 cents why, also to help people who look at this guide possibly who check the comments, maybe they could of read my comment so they get an understand that they put tanking on Amumu to one side, and look at his other possibilities, so in the end +1 to you Animorte :)

I understand how to play Amumu, I have played him so many different ways over my seven months of playing the game just as much as I have played just about anybody. This was just my off-hand idea. I have an aweful lot of those. I honestly didn't expect that this would get such a bad start (given the fact that I also didn't require the comment to vote).
Apparently people really hate thinking of Amumu as anything but a tank. I just thought I would capitalize on his damage potential.

I also didn't say that this was more viable than jungling or tanking, but as far as normal games go, it doesn't hurt you very much at all. This build is most definitely not recommended for ranked games.

I just like being able to deal damage while staying alive...with basically everybody I ever use.

Keep in mind that his ult is a snare.

He is also a much more viable tank than a DPS in my opinion (Don't stop here, read my wall of text plx), there are much better carries in the game. His stun is to be used as a tanking method, but he will still take damage because it's a snare, to be able to use his ultimate to full effect he needs to be in the midst of the battle as it's a CC and if you build him as a Carrie he doesn't have sustainable health to carry out his Ulti to the full effect.

He can work with AP and im not saying that the only VIABLE way to play him as a tank, but it is a much more viable way of playing him as a carry, even as an off-tank I would still prefer a Udyr or something to do that, as he doesn't have as much sustainability as Amumu or as much CC on multiple targets. I would prefer a carrie who can deal real single target damage even without the AP, something I feel Amumu just can't do as well as veigar or Annie.

In the end I think Amumu in ranked should be played as a jungler/laner and a full on tank with a Rylais, he still does some OK damage. All im saying is that his Tank ability is much more than his carrie ability, nevertheless I won't -1 or +1, I feel the guide could do with a bit more information before I honestly rate, and the fact that this does work, doesn't mean I should give it a -1, but the fact that he just is more viable to play as a tank I won't +1, I hope my criticism is constructive, and you get something out of reading this, this is not intended to be offensive, but helpful advice to a fellow Amumu player :)

But on the note of him played as AP offtank, I would build a Rylais THEN a Archangels THEN a Deathcap THEN a frozen heart, maybe with something for a little more mana in there, and obviously boots somewhere in there aswell. Also a void staff instead of a Abyssal Sceptre, and then get a guardian angel, you'll still end up with some really great AP with the deathcap and you'll be a little more tanky, and you could use your Ulti without worrying about insta death.

I understand this may work out for you very well, but in the end, Amumu be tank is what Amumu be! Otherwise, ok guide, work on it a little more, I did enjoy the read :)! And the fact that it isn't generic is really nice aswell!

Doesn't work, there are much better ap carries with CC than amumu. Also, his ult is not a stun, but a snare.
