Introduction

Hey guys, I decided to make a build for Darius because of how successful and how much fun I have been playing with this champion.

This is my first build and I have many more to come for champions I enjoy to play, but enough chit chat lets get to business.

Pros / Cons

There are many Pro and Cons of Darius

Pros

- Use of hemorrhage to help deal extra damage and bleed out your oponent.
- Apprehend pulls enemies and minons towards you.
- Ult cool down after killing an enemy or if he dies .5 seconds after.
- With 5 stacks of hemorrhage on the enemy crippling strike cooldown is reduced allowing you to spam.
- Is tanky and quite strong.
- In my opinion one of the best solo tops.

Cons

- Can be hard to escape ganks.
- Apprehend has a long cooldown.
- If ult missed the kill has a trouble killing his opponent.
- Has sustain issues, sometimes I find my self low on mana after owning.

Masteries

These masteries I use 21/9/0 is basic attack damage masteries with little armour and heath for the solo lane. I use 21/9/0 because darius can deal heavy damage and the AD carry masteries work a lot better then defensive masteries.

Runes




These runes add flat AD, Armor, and magic resist with 4.5% movement speed.

Seal of Resilience adds flat armor, a total of 12.69. Although this is a little number it contributes well especially early game.
Greater glyph of Warding adds flat magic resist, a total of 12.06. This helps a lot especially if your laning against an AP caster.
Greater mark of Strength adds flat AD, a total of 8.55. This adds extra damage to all summoner spells except Apprehend.

Greater quintessence of Swiftness adds % towards movement speed, for a total of 4.5%. This is especially helpful for chasing down that low enemy for escaping from that deadly gank.

Items




Mercurys treads these boots are one of the most popular boots for tanky champions due to there 25 magic resistance.
Frozen mallet is a very popular item due to its unique passive. The item adds 20 AD and 700 health. Its passive slows enemy units by 40% for 2.5 seconds.
Atmas impaler is a very popular tank item due to its passive. You receive 45 armor and 18% critical strike chance. Its passive adds 1.5% AD from your maximum health.
Shureylas reverie is not a popular item but has its benefits and that is why I chose it. It adds 330 health, 15 mana regen and 30 health regen. It has a unique passive that has a 15% cool down and nearby champions gain 40% movement speed to catch those escaping enemies.
Blood thirster a very good item due to its ability to gain stacks. It adds 60 AD and 12% life steal. When you gain all 40 stacks you have a total of 100 AD and 20% life steal. Use of this item must need stacks to be beneficial and must care towards not dying.

Now there are two options become more tanky and receive little AD or become more AD and help carry your team towards victory. Warmog or Infinity edge if your team already has a tank and is doing his job I would recommend Infinity edge.

Infinity edge an extremely popular item of the AD carrys. It adds 80 AD and 25% critical strike chance. Its unique passive adds 50% critical strike damage for those heavy crit shots.
Warmog That popular item for tanks that has a lot of health. It has 920 health and 30 health regen. Its unique passive lets you gain an additional 320 health and 10 health regen.

Summoner Spells

The two summoner spells I chose are mainly for top lanes. Summoner spells can be different depending on your preference and how you will play the champion. I would expect you to play with ghost and teleport while you jungle.

After casting for 4 seconds you will be teleported to either friendly minion, champion, ward and turret. Very good for solo lane especially if you end up taking to much damage and must go heal (330) second cooldown.
A very popular summoner spell for catching up to enemies or escaping a deadly gank. Ghost improves your movement speed by 27% for 10 seconds (210) second cooldown.

Summoner Abilitys




Hemorrhage is Darius passive, which drains his enemys health over time dealing 12/15/18/21/24/27/30/33/36 +0.4 per attack damage. The enemies bleed out for 5 seconds. Darius receives 5% movement speed for every enemy bleeding. Hemorrhage is a very important passive as it helps you deal extra damage especially on his ultimate.
Decimate is Darius spinning move with two outer rings it deals 70/105/140/175/210 +0.7 per attack damage to enemies in the inner ring and 105/157.5/210/262.5/315 +1.05 per attack damage to enemies in the outer ring.
Crippling strike probably one of my favourite abilitys minus the ultimate, with 5 stacks of hemorrhage the cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds. It deals % from your AD 20/40/60/80/100% additional damage. It also slows your opponents by 20/25/30/35/40% for 2 seconds.
Apprehend a grappling ability that pulls your enemy champions and minions toward you. Although it does not deal damage its passive adds armor penetration 5/10/15/20/25% armor penetration.
Guillotine the ability that makes darius, darius this is his ultimate it refreshes its cooldown on a kill or .5 seconds after using the ability. Dealing 160/250/340 +0.75 per attack damage and with each stack of hemorrhage you deal an additional 20% attack damage 320/500/680 +1.5 per attack damage.

Team Work

Darius can get full of him self and easily be fed by kill stealing. His ultimate Guillotine has the ability to come in and steal a lot of kills. Stealing a lot of kills can get you fed but also set your team behind. Thats why co-operation and team work is a must with Darius. Restraining from taking that kill can help your team climb to victory.
