Introduction

First off me(Boozer):
Who am I and why should you read this guide and follow my setup?
I am a league player who has been playing since september of 2011, I have a level 30 acc that got banned for some stupid **** involving friends but I am getting it back soon, My other friend gave me a lvl 13 acc last sunday and with a 7 day ip boost and just got another 1day for now is now lvl 25
Now I am semi-new to making builds for the site as you can see from my builds to the right of the guide somewhere :P And the first few I created weren't that great but the kennen one in my opinion was pretty decent :3 I'm always looking for good feedback and constructive criticism to my works.

Now then what you guys are here for:

Darius... Sweet sweet Darius :]
The Hand of Noxus...
Summary of his lore:
Darius was an orphan that had to survive and help keep his brother alive along with him. He later joined the army where the noxian's were getting beat by the Demacian People. His captain ordered a retreat but Darius defied the order and beheaded the captain and then took control as leader. He later went back to Noxus and got rid of the corrupted leaders and then found Swain who he thought was the best for the job to be leader. He now works to unite his nation with his vision of noxian strength :D

SECOND BUILD(READ IF NOT USING FIRST BUILD ONLY)

The second build is for everyone that rather go Decimate maxed first for the ability sequence only, The items i put in are for anyone that wants atmas with the warmogs, i also added a good amount of items that give hp along with tanky stats or ad stats, i do not expect you to be buying all of them of course but I put it there simply to inform everyone of some items you can get

Masteries

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FOLLOW THESE IN ORDER TO DO GOOD WITH DARIUS
This is just what i put as for now seeing as i'm not level 30 yet on the second account and I am still fooling around with these masteries!!!!

Runes

  • Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage: These are Mainly for the extra damage buff that can be helpful especially early game when laning/soloing with Darius. I personally use them since there hasn't been any problems with them nor have I (personally) found anything that would better suit him in my cases.
  • Greater Mark of Attack Damage: Again these are for the damage and I do recommend these seeing as how you can start off with 8.5 damage just using the marks which is great for early game damage output.
  • Greater Seal of Armor: This is when i start off getting Darius tanky so he has that extra armour to keep all the pesky ad champs from hurting as much when getting your precious farm
  • Greater Glyph of Magic Resist: This is similar to the seals except focused against the ap champs. These glyphs and seals will go ahead and get you ready to fight and get that first blood that can sometimes wind up as a game changer.

Summoner Spells

Summoner Spells

Ignite: Very simple reason for this spell is that is gives that extra damage to win a fight or finish off an opponent either A: after you have died, or, B: After the enemy runs away with low hp
space
Flash: helps for a faster getaway along with a quick way to Get to your opponent for the slow or pull.
space
Ghost: This is a simple way to catch up to your enemies in order to get that kill or to run away from them. Only problem when you are running away you can't just jump over a wall like you can with flash.

Some other Viable Summoner Spells
  • : This is obvious, it is sort of like Ghost or flash for getting the kill if you dont want them running, however for escaping it's decent in 1v1's but team fights you will get caught :s
  • : I absolutely hate this summoner spell but that's my opinion, I personally don't think it would help much since he is so tanky and has great health regen but it's all personal preferance!
  • : ehhhhhhhhh idk about this one, in early game or maybe team fights it can be helpful when you run out of mana but i suggest taking blue instead

Abilities / Ability Sequence

Ability Explanation

  • Hemorrhage :This passive ability allows the target to "bleed" a set amount of magic damage per 5 seconds, The effect can stack up to 5 times!

This passive causes Darius' ult to do more damage with each extra hemorrhage stack.

You will see a skull looking icon above the enemies head when you are at full stacks, This is the best time to strike with your ult to do the max damage and get the kill.

  • Decimate : This ability makes Darius spin with his axe dealing damage to all nearby opponents, if the opponent is closer to the blade it will damage them more than if they were close to the handle.

This attack also applies a hemorrhage stack, keep this in mind while fighting your enemies and needing to get those stacks up.

  • Crippling strike : Upon Darius' next attack he will deal more damage along with slowing the enemies movement and attack speed. The cooldown is lowered depending on how "bloodied" the enemy is(amount of hemorrhage stacks)

This ability is strong and is a must have for getting the kill or doing the extra damage to turrets, enemies, minions, or any living being opposing you

  • Apprehend : This ability grants him passive armor penetration along with allowing him to pull all enemies n a short vicinity in front of him to him

This is another great move to keep the enemies close for A: Fights B: to help teammates get away or C: pull them to/away from turrets.

  • Noxian Guillotine: Darius Leaps onto the enemy target dealing true damage! This damage is increased for each hemorrhage stack applied to the enemy. If darius kills the target using His ult the cooldown is refreshed!!!

This ult can do over 1000 true damage to enemies with full stacks depending on how you have built darius, And hmm you kill one person with it why not get the double or triple with the refreshed cooldown you just got :D

Ability Sequence Order

This order can be switched a little at the first 3 levels of the game. You can get your Q Decimate W Crippling Strike or E Apprehend in any order depending on what you are looking for. However i suggest unlocking all 3 as soon as possible!
Level 1: Get Decimate or Apprehend depending on what you are doing, if you are going to need the pull then get it first or if you are looking for the damage in the bushes or the farm for level one then get your Q

After level 3:
By now you should have all 3 main abilities unlocked. Now what you should do (In MOST cases) is start maxing Crippling Strike by level 9 and Decimate by level 13. Unlock Apprehend early and do not touch it until your other spells are unlocked completely.
Why? aprehend is not a damage type move and is used as more of a utility, if they are building heavy armor then sure level it some to get the armor penetration but other than that you should only need it for combos for kills or farm.

Items / Item sequence

Items

Starting off with the Regrowth Pendant allows for 25 hp regen per 5 seconds which can be very helpful with lane sustainability and is also used to create our warmogs which we will be creating shortly

I usually get enough farm to allow me my tier one boots( Boots) and a ruby crysta. The boots are obvious for the speed and the crystal is needed for some hp and also works into the warmogs.

Next is our first main item of the build Warmog's Armor. Now you may be like wtf??? he build straight into warmogs??? The answer is yes and here is why, as a tanky champion you will need the health and the regen is just a plus, you already deal great amounts of damage with just the default ad and your runes. And better to start working on warmog's stacks early for a better advantage

Now after finishing off our warmogs we work into Mercury's Treads which i use for the tenacity and magic resistance but i guess can be traded out as you see fit.

Now for our second Item Frozen Mallet This is for the other half of our tankiness along with the damage and slows. As a melee ad champion you can't always catch up and stay caught up to ranged champions, this helps by slowing them down along with giving you the damage buff you have been looking for.

Bloodthirster Now is when i start getting damage output, for the next three items you can put them in any order and maybe substitute them for tankier items or maybe more damage output items. i get bloodthirster first for the damage and lifesteal.

Second seeing as how we are a little slow on attack speed i pick up my Black Cleaver giving us more damage and attack speed which helps lower your opponents armor as well.

Infinity Edge Final part of the build unless you need to add/change certain items depending on the situation. This gives us the 80 damage along with the crit chance and stronger crits.

At this point you should be criting over 1000 and doing massive damage while taking hits like a boss. Your ult should be at 900+ damage at full stacks with this build but like i said you can substitute the items as needed!
