Pros / Cons

Pros
- Excellent poke.
- Spell Shield.
- Team buff ultimate.
- Possibly best wave clearing AD.
- Good at baiting abilities.
- Amazing chase ability.
- Great counter-siege.

Cons
- No repositioning abilities. (Ezreal, Tristana, Graves, Corki)
- No crowd control.
- Short auto-attack range.
- Mana reliant.

Sivir effectively counters many other AD carries and supports. All of this is subject to individual skill an must be thought as such.

Summoner Spells

Ignite To finish off kills.
or
Cleanse If vs. heavy Crowd Control. Place 1 point in Summoner's Resolve
or
Heal For fighting kill lanes with not much CC. Place 1 point in Summoner's Resolve
or
Exhaust Good vs. burst damage carries.
or
Teleport Great for getting to fights and killing turrets. Have good map awareness if you wish to use this.

Never replace Flash.

Items

The Bloodthirster - Build it ASAP. Great damage and sustain.
Phantom Dancer - Helps clear waves faster, without using Mana.
Infinity Edge - Must have if you wish to carry the game. Build 2nd or 3rd.
Last Whisper - Tank/Bruiser killer. Helps take down those pesky Bruisers with high armor that run at you in fights.
Trinity Force - often recommended to build this instead of Phantom Dancer. I build it often if I feel I need it.

Berserker's Greaves - Basic AD boots. Offensive in nature, build these if you are confident in yourself.
Mercury's Treads - Can be a good choice if other team has a lot of CC.

Banshee's Veil - Two Spell Shields will keep you effective during a fight. More health, mana, and magic res too. Helps deal with those pesky AP Nukers.
Guardian Angel - More magic res, armor, and prevents death every 5 minutes.
Good for most carries but I think Banshee's Veil is better on Sivir.

If you are truly dominating a game, there is often no need to build a defensive item.

Summary

Remember that Sivir is a very offensive and defensive champ at the same time. This is what makes her so strong. In return she has no CC.

She is rated as very easy to use, but she can also be avoided quite easily. She is Mana reliant and often relies on Spell Shield to win trades.
She works well with almost all supports with Soraka being one of the stronger ones.
