Dat Support Mundo Mens
Once you get high enough elo where people realize how to dodge cleavers or just stand behind creeps, mundo becomes useless in the early game. This is especially true when you are bot laning against a support that can simply heal the pitiful amount of damage you are capable of dealing against players with IQs greater than hamsters. Now you're throwing cleaver into the enemy creeps taking last hits from time to time and pushing the lane to make it easier to gank your unsupported carry...
If I were against this in bot lane I would simply stay behind creeps and harass the opposing AD carry from behind creeps...you just keep trading blows- ad carry verse ad carry- and have the support block cleavers, heal, and cc mundo if he tries to close. You keep it up for a minute or so then mundo's carry is dead or zoned...because mundo is not a support...
You talk about people diving low hp mundos and getting caught...well that explains the ELO you are playing at. Prolly half the kids you play against are like, "Who's that champ, what does he do?" because they weren't around when mundo was actually a good champion. And that's why they are getting heal baited like derps...
That's true in most cases, but especially early game, I stated that Mundo revolves around the bush. I don't know about your skill level, but I doubt anyone's good enough to anticipate a random cleaver from the bush. And besides, at a higher elo, you should be skilled enough to hit them x.x
