Hey, this is my 1st build showing how to tank with Jarvan IV and give some damage mid-game and in late game having great mag res and armor..
As playing Jarvan i see that he can make a great tank, can do the same as allistar/malphite/blitzcrank with the skill combo and have more damege output..That with Golden Aegis makes you really hard to get killed, you can make a team win in normal games and give some great aid in ranked games...
I think Jarvan is not a DPS, he haves a good damage with Demacian Standard but it doesn't makes you the best DPS, he can really be a great tank.

Pros:
Great armor/mag res
The Demacian Standard / Dragon Strike combo with flash makes you very dangerous when tower hugging.
Great survivability
Good damage mid-game
Good evader(ganks)

Cons:
Its a tank so don't expect to kill every1 with this build, you will support the team and get them some kills.

Martial Cadence(Passive):Jarvan IV's first attack on his target deals 10% of the target's current health as bonus magic damage, caps at 400 damage. This effect cannot occur on the same target for 6 seconds.


Dragon Strike: Jarvan IV extends his lance through his opponent, dealing 70 / 115 / 160 / 205 / 250 (+1.10 per bonus attack damage) physical damage and lowering their armor by 10 / 14 / 18 / 22 / 26% for 3 seconds. If its lance contacts his standard it will pull Jarvan IV to its location, knocking up all enemies in his path.


Golden Aegis: Jarvan IV forges a shield protecting him 50 / 100 / 150 / 200 / 250 (+20/25/30/35/40 per nearby enemy champion) damage for 5 seconds and applying a 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35% slow to surrounding enemies upon activation. The shield adds more mitigation for every enemy champion nearby when activating.



Demacian Standard(Passive): Grants Jarvan 10 / 13 / 16 / 19 / 22% bonus attack speed and 10 / 13 / 16 / 19 / 22 armor.
(Active): Jarvan IV throws a Demacian flag to a nearby area, dealing 60 / 105 / 150 / 195 / 240 (+80% per ability power) magic damage to enemies in the area and granting his passive benefits to nearby allies and again to himself for 8 seconds.


Cataclysm: Jarvan IV heroically leaps to an enemy champion, dealing 200 / 350 / 500 (+1.50 per bonus attack damage) physical damage and creating a circle of impassable terrain around them for a 3.5 second duration. Jarvan IV can destroy the area by activating it again. Champions can still leave or enter the area by using teleport abilities.

Mark of Attack Damage: Atack damage, early game boost to deal good damage with jarvan !

NOTE: You can use Armor Penetration Runes if you like it!

Greater Seal of Armor: Good amor in the game.

Greater Glyph of Magic Resist: Good Mag resist aswell

Greater Quintessence of Health: Good hp in game too to be balanced.

My masteries give some boosts to Jarvan in defense and utility and makes Flash and Fortify improved...

Core Itens :

Mercury's Treads, Randuin's Omen and Banshee's Veil

After this itens if i need more mag.res i buy Force of Nature, or if i need more armor i get Frozen Heart, if i need both urgently i buy Aegis of the Legion or Guardian Angel

Optional itens:

Warmogs Armor: A lot of HP and you will have more damage because of impaler.

Frozen Heart: Good against DPS

Guardian Angel: More survability

Thornmail: Good against DPS but i don't think its worth cause you will not be so focused but it can be a good item early game when you have big dps enemy.

Boots of Swiftness: More speed, good to run into the enemy and catch runners.

Aegis of the Legion: Another good choice to buy early game.

Frozen Mallet: Its a good item if you want to slow the enemy and it gives you good hp

My Skill Sequence is a defensive one, i start upgrading Demacian Standard,after it i raise Golden Aegis to have good armor and finally Dragon Strike.

I use Fortify and Flash. Fortify to protect our turrets when most needed and Flash so when you do the Demacian Standard / Dragon Strike combo in a tower you can Flash back or when running from enemy's use ulti and Flash away from the circle

Optional spells:

Clarity: Good to hold the lane vs 2

Ghost: Good chaser spell

Exhaust: Good to stop runners or to 1v1

NOTE: Don't take Ignite cause your tank, so leave it for another 1

Here i'll leave some tips about how to gank with jarvan:

When you want to get some1, use you'r Q/E combo and if you'r teamm8 doesn't kills him yet you may use your ultimate,ususally he is death by that time.

In Team-Fights you must try to Q/E in the dangerous enemy(like a katarina/malzahar/annie/Warwick) and even a better thing to do is to do it when they ulti so you block it, and try to ulti on their DPS so he becomes worthless.
