Blitz is one of the only supports I enjoy playing, the other being Alistar. I do like your idea having 3 slow items, I will have to try that next time I play him. +1 for making a good guide about one of my favorite champs

Attack Damage AND Ability Power? but no real hybrid items? I can't see this build work.

Got your message and looked over the guide. Now this is constructive criticism and also just my opinion :) I have recently been frustrated by the lack of good Blitz support guides...I mean high ELO players claim Ali to be one of the best!!! Pshaw, Blitz has so much potential to outshine most and possibly be one of the best supports in the game. Reading this guide I see a lot of good info in this guide but in my humble opinion this does not fill the support role as needed if anything after playing it over and over I just ended up being an underfarmed tank of sorts...Being a good support you sit in a bush the entire laning phase, harassing and CCing but never farming...the item build you have presented is almost 16,000 gold, yes you may get there late late game and in a solo q and low ELO average games last little over 30 minutes and in higher you want your core build done by mid. I would honestly put 21 points in utility, for a pure support role it is just too too good, and with the other 9 in offense you end up with great cooldown, a passive 15 gold per 10 sec and increased exp gain...not to mention the extra 40 gold to start and a 15% cooldown on summoners. Runic affinity is a waste seeing as if your jungler isn't taking the buffs your ap and ad carries should be...or something is wrong. The move speed is up for grabs I love it, but you are support...it is your job to keep river/jungle warded as much as possible so I lean toward scout. A lot of the "pros" are using runes of avarice recently which i thing is a great idea for supports because even late game you want to defer taking creep waves when your carries can. Also, being support you should be carrying aura's for your team, let the tank tank and let the carries do the killing/damage. With full utility/greed tree you can start with 3 hp pots, 2 mana pots 2 wards letting you carry farm in peace and what i like to do is throw one in the lane bush on the opposing side, this stops them from using the bush to zone/gank you. Upgrade into a philosophers stone and grab a heart of gold and this takes care of another huge blitz problem...MANA!!! He is insanely mana hungry!!! These to items with greed and runes of avarice will have you rolling in the dough and building fast into an aegis, merc treads or ionian boots, philosophers stone into a shurelia's reverie and heart of gold into randuins (if your solo top doesn't build one, banshee's veil, and possibly a frozen heart...i love force of nature, just not on my blitz support. between all your other items you have more than enough MR, hp and mp regen and health..not to mention the aura's buffing your team. You will also have over max CDR and will be spamming to your hearts desire. Late game I like grabbing any number of different items: players will love you if you grab a will of the ancients in team fights, abyssal scepter is great if they stacked MR or my favorite is topping it off with a Triforce. Again, this is all my opinion and who knows I am probably completely wrong. You asked so I told. Great guide, honestly! I just don't see it as a support build but a tanky hybrid that would need to farm to sustain his expensive tastes.

The idea i was going for here is guided for the majority of players. I beleive anything 1500+ elo is around the top 20% of players on league, for the other 80% and many still in the 1600+, we are in "elo hell" a place where you are matched with amazingly bad teammates or amazingly good opponents who could easily just be a tiny step above you in skill and a single kill ahead. Blitzcrank serves his role in the support lane by being a very serious deny from kills made on your carry. By building him without utility, and focusing on tankiness and delaying enemies with slow (which is more long lasting than knockup), he takes over the role of tanky dps adding some damage to your team. His skillset is what makes him powerful and where his utility comes from, so building him for sustain doesnt bring out his bruiser capability, especially in the unpredicatable matchmaking that riot offers. This build is indeed harder to pull off in higher level play, but my argument remains- proper grabs make game changing plays, and if you cant land grabs then you wont be playing him well with any build. I have semi-carried many solo or duo que games where my team would not have won if i had gone full support blitzcrank using builds close to this one. The utility mastery tree is horrible since the update, offence and defense tree greatly overpower it and the 40 extra gold is really worth nothing but an extra potion you can easily do without. Scout as well is a point that offers handly anything. think of the defense tree as the new utility tree, most people will agree with me. regardless, thanks for the post.

Hi there. theres a few reasons why i left this guide alone.
honestly i felt like the community was very negative about anything improper, i received some criticism about how it was simply not viable because it was not a proper "support" build. Due to this, i decided to leave this guide alone as all builds are merely opinion and i felt mine was not welcome so i have no reason to explain it to anyone who doesn't have enough respect to listen.

Recently i have been playing blitzcrank with gp5 quints, philo, hog, and all the other regular support items as well so i cant blame anyone for being too tryhard, it just seemed that this was a community that reflected more of a "one correct build only" situation and was more about grabbing +rep or votes than any sort of theory crafting in general. Of course this is not a serious build for high elo, but if it had to be then there would only be one or two correct blitzcrank builds and there wouldn't be a need for this website or any sort of creative building. Not to take away from anyone who posted constructive or nice comments earlier, thanks.

I currently run Quintessence of Gold, Greater Mark of Armor, Greater Seal of Armor, Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist, and build Shurelya's Battlesong, Randuin's Omen, Frozen Heart and Frozen Mallet if possible (while warding all game). This is certainly more ideal in most games i have recently been faced with where at my current elo a majority of full on premades with op champions are matched against me.

Blitzcrank is by no means an easy champion, or a great supporter. I would say that alistar, janna, taric all outshine him and sona, soraka will be of incredibly more use during the early lanephase sustain. The most i can say about this guide in particular is to enjoy the game and try things out for yourself instead of following the top players. I found it ironic that most of the bashing i got was from players averaging 1300 elo in ranked. Low level gameplay is different from higher level gameplay, the point is to enjoy the game. My ign is still in my profile if anyone wishes to contact me for whatever reason :3

Guide is Fresh, author hasn't been seen since early January. If you come back to MobaFire any time soon, shoot me a PM and I'll review your guide. For now, I'll wait for a response.

Incredible guide :) I will be sure to use it sometimes.

I really like the depth and the personalised items.

Just a heads up: You could find some videos to rest the eyes of the reader for a little while.
