Jarvan IV Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Don't downvote or upvote before you actually have read my guide and see the point i'm trying to make of my version of Offtank jarvan.
whatchu know about jarvan?
D-town in the house. Xin knocks you, your sister and your mom up in three hits.
Jarvan does it in one. ;)
As the royal family of Demacia for centuries, members of the Lightshield line have spent their lives waging war against any who opposed Demacian ethics. It is said that every Lightshield is born with anti-Noxian sentiment in his blood. Jarvan IV is no exception, even though he is the first Lightshield born to the age of the League of Legends. As his forefathers had before him, he led Demacian troops into bloody engagements with Noxian forces, and on many occasions he has bled alongside wounded allies and fallen comrades. In his most crushing defeat, he was outmaneuvered and captured by a Noxian battalion under the command of Jericho Swain. This mistake nearly cost him his life at the hands of Urgot, but he was rescued by the Dauntless Vanguard, an elite Demacian strike force led by Jarvan's childhood companion, Garen.
Those close to him believed that his capture changed him. Xin Zhao was quoted as saying: ''His eyes never seemed to look at you, only through you to something he could not look away from.'' One day, without warning, Jarvan IV handpicked a squad of Demacian soldiers and left Demacia, vowing to find ''atonement''. He began by tracking and hunting the most dangerous beasts and bandits he could find in northern Valoran, but he soon tired of such prey. Seeking something that only he understood, he ventured south of the Great Barrier. He wasn't heard from again for nearly two years. After many had assumed the worst, he returned to glorious fanfare on the streets of Demacia. His Demacian plates were adorned with the bones and scales of creatures unknown. His eyes bore the wisdom of someone twice his age. Of the twelve soldiers who had departed with him, only two returned. In a tone as cold and steady as steel, he swore to bring the enemies of Demacia to their knees.
''There is only one truth, and you will find it at the point of my lance.''
- the ''last words'' of Jarvan IV at his failed execution
Pros / Cons
-very good ganking
-HOOOOOOOOOOOLY ****!» ****! ****! ****.... tons of crit chance so therefore good dmg
-Can not be played as maintank
-Needs skill to play correctly
- Cataclysm can work against you and your own team
-Alot of people have Flash/movement abilities Valkyrie etc.
Greater Mark of Desolation ArP, what can i say? No reason you shouldn't have these, no reason you shouldn't use them on jarvan.
Jarvan has a low mana pool and since his nerf v126.96.36.199 he cant keep up with his mana. Jarvan's skill's are too good in creeping or aggressive play to not have mana regen IMO.
Greater Seal of Vitality But.. He CAN rely on his auto atacks in lane and some people just don't like the mana regen. Than you simply can go with HP since it makes you more defensive aswell as offensive thanks to Atma's Impaler :)
CDR is just the way to go, Again.. v188.8.131.52 hit him hard in the CD's, and it's just awesome to be able to spam your skills as much as you can = more CC and more armor reductions.
More defense, more offense Atma's Impaler. :)
I just CANNOT make a guide about masteries, masteries are just how you like to play
and what fits your playstyle the most. I gave a 21/9/0 tree just as it will be most common,
because off the offense/defense build i give you.
TBH i find myself going most of the time with Utility masteries
cuz i'm sucha utility freak and it fits my playstyle.
I always, but really always take Flash or Ghost on D with every champ i go.
Since jarvan already has a "teleport" with his Demacian Standart + Dragon Strike i go with Ghost.
On F as any other melee champion Exhaust is a beast.
BUT-BUT-BUT if your team is FULL of people with Exhaust be an adult
and pick otherwise. Ignite , Clairvoyance and Teleport are also good spells to have
again.. Can depend on your playstyle / preference.
This passive is BEAST in team battles, as jarvan i ALWAYS but ALWAYS recommend, don't be killgreedy, be assistgreedy. You can only use this passive at full capability if you swap target's and deal that % to everyone. This will win you teambattles and there is no reason to not swap targets to fully use this passive correctly.
This does damage.. it's ranged.. and debuff's there armor. It's AWESOME. You basicly use this in lane to last hit creeps, harras enemy's and do your supper awesome combo ( i explain the combo's further on ). Also in teambattle's when your not able to knock airborn combo, try to position yourself so that you hit more than 1 enemy.
This armor debuff will also apply when you knock airborn.
It's a demacian thing. i am really convinced that every demacian has some kind of shield between there skill. Erm sona.. wellyeah she heals and buffs. that's "shieldy". I don't know if riot did this on purpose, or if it's just a coincidence. This basically gives you a pretty flat shield that gets buffed the more enemy's near you there are. In bonus it also slow's the enemy, so it can be used for getting away / chasing. ALWAYS USE IN TEAMBATTLES!!!
You drop a flagg on the ground that damages nearby enemy's on dropping, and buffs your allies atack speed and armor on standing. Otherwise it's used to pull yourself to with Dragon Strike and knock nearby enemy's airborne.
Whatchu know about demacia? when you hear an enemy shouting it, your screwed. It deals a great amount of damage on landing and traps your enemy in uncrossable terrain, this is awesome for teambattles to take the carry out or just to get any enemy away from the teambattle. But but but, it's easy to escape from with Flash etc.
A standard MUST KNOW combo is.
Demacian Standard - Dragon Strike.
If you 1v1 with this, you will basically proc both of the skill's damage.
The armor reduction AND the buffs the flagg give's.
This will also knock more than 1 enemy airborne, and is always useful in teambattle's.
So don't go like Dragon Strike Lee Sin and Demacian Standard Galio..
Just Line Lee Sin and Galio up Demacian Standard behind or ON them and Dragon Strike to your flag, this will cause them both to airborne.
i'm insecure to engage with this combo how else should i engage into a 1v1 or fight i can win
Well there is no problem on that kiddo :)
just open with Cataclysm since it's a click skill, so there's no doubt that is gonna miss.
Put Demacian Standard up and benefit from the faster auto atack rate, and just when your ulti is gonna run out, Dragon Strike to your flag you placed before to get him longer in place, if that doesnt do, Exhoust GG.
if you are secure with your combo you can also open with Demacian Standard - Dragon Strike, and Cataclysm afterwards. It's all up to you.
But remember between everything i said.
use Golden Aegis EVERY TIME YOU CAN WHILE IN BATTLE.
Engaging a 2v1 can be like the following,
wait till they split a bit up, Cataclysm mr squishy, take him out, Demacian Standard - Dragon Strike Mr panicking because his friends mr squishy is getting atack all the suddenly, and take him out with Exhaust
Just make it a fair 1v1 for both of ya :).
NOW depending on there team.
If they have alot of CC
if not and you want to be a tad more offensive.
Those 2 are just a must go on jarvan. Don't combine them though. ;)
So i got told in the comment that Phantom Dancer is not fitting on this build, but..
my point of this build is being tanky while having alot of crit chance, so without the phantom dancer you will miss out on alot of my crit% that will proc your Infinity Edge.
I also like the speed buff and Frozen Mallet.
But, i can agree that it's not a that MUST HAVE item.
You can easly replace it by a Banshee's Veil or any other situational tank item.
Also, the chance that you will be able to complete your Infinity Edge Seems pretty low.
It's a pretty expensive build and mostly the game will end after Phantom Dancer if it's a long game.
Going to the key of my build.
I have enough HP to let people know, focusing me isn't a good idea.
Frozen Mallet Sunfire Cape
I also have enough ARM to resist your AD carry.
Atma's Impaler Sunfire Cape
But don't think of me as a weak hitting tank... because i can wreck you in a matter of seconds with my huge crit chance, cit dmg and my little bit of atack speed.
Atma's Impaler Infinity Edge Phantom Dancer
Why are you even trying to run? Don't you know there's no escaping from
Phantom Dancer + Frozen Mallet ?
Catch my story? :)
This was it, i had fun creating this build, AND it is my first build ever made.
If you disagree with me please let me know ALSO
before you go like
