Welcome to My Guide to Mid Lane! I hope you like it! :D
Mid Lane Consists of several different things, from decision-making, stances, minion wave control, roaming potential as well as routes, and out-doing the enemy jungler AND mid-laner whilst helping your team get ahead, I will cover all of that :)
~Kill Stance when VISION Calls for it. -Push Enemy to Base/Kill, Take Control, YOU are Ahead, Can 2v1?
~Push Stance: (Avoid Push Stance BEFORE Level 4) Use ALL Abilities to FARM+Push Lane & Tower THEN BACK OFF.
L Forces Enemy to CS Under Turret, Enemy CAN'T Engage on YOU, Forces Enemy Laner to STAY in Lane =EnemyNoRoam
~Farm Stance: Safe Farming, No risks, Play Passive w/ Calculated Trades, Focus CS until pos Stance Switch, Levels 1-2
L LateG-Champ=NO RISK; Utilize THIS STANCE Levels 1 thru 2 EARLY GAME; Enemy Jungler is Near/NO-PERSONAL-VISION
You're Weak atm; You're low HP; You're low MANA; Abilities on CD; Summs DOWN; Enemy has LEVEL Advantage -or- ITEMS
Before Roaming: #1 Push Lane (Enemy has to push back, Enemy lose CS, You DENY Enemy VISION)

Roaming gets more Objectives, Increases Team Morale, Heavy Leads, Shutdown Enemy Lanes, Pressure Off Jungler,
Helps in getting Fed, Forces Enemies to Play DEFENSIVELY, Lowers Enemy Morale
~Kill -> Farm -> Push -> Roam -> Kill --- Repeat (Kill BEATS Farm, Farm BEATS Push, Push BEATS Roam, Roam BEATS Kill)
~LEARN your Champion. LEARN the Game Situation. LEARN your COUNTERS. LEARN your Matchups. Play ALL MIDS atleast Once.
--LEARN your BURST. Practice LAST HITS under TURRET.
Harassing and Trading
~Harass WHEN You can't be harassed back; Harass at MAX Range; Hit & RUN; USE MINIONS; Start/Finish with AutoAttacks
~Tips For Harassing: 1. Enemy is Melee; 2. Enemy low Mana/HP; 3. Enemy Offensive Abilities on CD;
- 4. Enemy is about to CS; 5. Enemy is Under Turret attempting to CS; 6. Enemy is in Choke Turret-Wall Spot
- 7. You have Auto-Attack Range over your Opponent, AUTOS ADD UP; Minions can block Enemy DMG
- 8. END of your BURST, Finish with an Auto; 9. Enemy Overextends; 10. Enemy is Focused/Positioning to CS
- 11. BLIND Spots: Walls Between Turret & Brush, Brushes included; Be Aware when YOUR Abilities are on CD
~TRADING: "Does it HAVE to be a Trade?" THINK FIRST (Range, Harass, CS etc)
"Do YOU Have more Pots/Sustain?"
"Can YOU Out-trade your Enemy?"
"Do YOU Have MORE HP than your Enemy?"
YOU Have Level Advantage.
ENEMY is down an Ability.
KNOW where the Jungler is!!!
~DONT TRADE if: -LESS SUSTAIN

~HOW TO TRADE: 1. Sustained or Burst?
*BURST = -DMG + Run
-Normally a Combo
*Sustained = -DMG over time
-Normally NOT a combo
2. MOVE when doing Combo
3. FINISH trades off with Auto-Attacks
4. DO NOT OVER-COMMIT YOU WILL DIE
5. USE MINIONS!
*IF CAUGHT BY BLINDS/STUNS
-"Do You Have Enough HP to Sustain Their Burst?"
L - If So: BURST THEM BACK (From max range to diminish their burst potential) & MAKE IT A TRADE. COUNTER IT.
*IF A KILLING TRADE (enemy no escapes):
-IGNITE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE: Burns HP Faster, Applies Grievous Wounds, Increases DPS during Burst and CAN save YOU
*IF EXTREMELY LONG RANGE CHAMP: Take Heal/Barrier & SAVE THEM for LAST SECOND.
*Bait CS: Wait Until Creep is low and then on their move trade them; CAN Utilize Blind Spots to bait them to CS then Trade
*Avoid Tower Diving w/o Vision-of-Jungler/Calculated Survival
*DON'T OVERSTAY. Low HP? No Vision? GTFO You Greedy ****er.
~General Notes: -Count Your Mana for Combos before Burst. DO NOT RUN OUT OF MANA MID COMBO.
-If you're going for a play COMMIT, NO SECOND GUESSING, GO FOR IT! NO HALF-***ING!
-REACT IMMEDIATELY TO HELP. **** THE CS, YOUR TEAM NEEDS YOU!
~Acknowledge Jungler Types & Locations/Starts for YOUR Jungler and ENEMY Jungler, BE AWARE, HELP HIM
~UTILIZE TERRAIN IN FIGHTS NEAR MID, BE AWARE. AVOID CHOKE POINTS! WATCH YOUR POSITIONING! BALANCE SAFETY-DMG RATIO Pos
~CALL ENEMY LANER RETURN
Vision, Warding, and the Jungler
-(Buy One Each Time you Return to Lane) Green Wards: 1. Lane Bushes
2. Death Brushes Beside Lane
3. River Entrances
4. Deep Raptors/Blue Buff
-(Buy 2 Max) Pink Wards: 1. Death Brushes Beside Lane
2. River Entrance
3. Farthest From MID-Lane Red Buff Brush
-UPGRADE TRINKET: -Stealth Totem IF: No Enemy with Major Stealth
-Vision Totem IF: Stealth Carries, ie Akali, Shaco, Twitch
-AVOID WARDING IN FRONT OF ENEMY.
-STAY ON WARDED END.
-RE WARD SAME SPOT PINK WAS IF CLEARED, usually unchecked again.
~JG GANK ASSIST:
L- Don't PUSH!
- BAIT YOUR ENEMY LANER into Trade/Fight
- Don't Blow It, DO NOT SWITCH STANCES, YOU WILL GIVE IT AWAY. AVOID PLAYSTYLE CHANGES, ACT, ACT, PERFORM! THIS IS A MOVIE!
Know When Enemy Jungler is Near:
1/ Avg Jungle Clear = Ganks between 3:15 to 4:15. (Acknowledging Enemy Jungler Type; ie Farmer/Ganker/Teamfighter etc)
2/ Look For Changes in Enemy Laners Playstyles, if so Odds are the Stance Change = Jg Presence.
~General Roaming Tips:
---See Rotations = When they push wave 3/4th run past Minion wave to check for Rotate, Spot them, gain Intel.
L - Keep the Middle of your lane warded to see rotations vs High Roamer Mids
--- Lip/Loop Ganks = Rotating around the outer wall of dragon(If Red/Purple/TopSide) or baron(If Blue/BottomSide)
Rotating Through & Around Enemy Blue Buff into Siege/Gankable Lane
L - You are behind your enemy and have the flank + avoided wards
--- Roam the Enemy Jungler if you have Vision/Intel/EducatedGuess on Him
~WHEN To Base:
1/-Killed enemy Laner
2/-Enemy is roaming
3/-Pushed the lane
4/-Enemy is stalling hard
5/-Jungler is covering YOUR lane
6/-YOU'RE Low HP/Mana
~AVOID WASTED TIME after Pushing Lane/Kill:
1/-Get Enemy Jungle/Your Jungle (Raptors or Wolves ONLY)
2/-Go back to base (Push that advantage son!)
--- Pretend to Base in front of them under your tower, then back into fog of war, wait for enemy back off, return to cs
--- Push & Pretend to "Roam" Top/Bot (Bush-hide)then return to cs/burst trade
--- Push & Pretend to "Roam" -> Wait for Enemy to Try and follow (Bush-Hide)-ONLY IF ABLE TO WIN/Kill w/ vision of Enemy Jg
--- Push Stance Level 1 For Early XP Adv for Kill/Pick Adv; DO NOT USE IF CANNOT KILL.
--- Kill+Stop Leave; Play Passive/Scared then Pounce.
--- Grind Down Slowly w/ Lesser Combos NOT Full Rotation; MAKE THEM UNDER-ESTIMATE YOUR DMG.
--- Control ENEMY Laner Position by adjusting YOUR OWN and zoning them (can set up Jungle Gank.)
--- Start Game BLUE Steal?
--- Avg BLUE RESPAWN = Ward at 8:05 possible Kill/Steal
--- Roam & Enemy Returns; WAIT for your Prey lurking in death brush (ONLY IF YOU CAN WIN)
-Use LoLNexus for info
-Base in a "Bad Spot"
-Pretend to "AFK"
-Pretend to "Lag"
-Accidentally /All Coming Bot/Top
-Startgame: Show yourself in another lane (Possible switch caused)
-Used my "Flash" "Heal" "Barrier"
Ahead or Behind in Lane?
1/ Kill YOUR lane's turret
2/ Kill enemy laner
3/ Don't Push! Stall It. (Behind Enemy has to come in your zone to cs, possible kill)
4/ Zone your opponent with appropriate vision
5/ Push & Roam
6/ Steal ENEMY Raptors/Wolves with proper vision, hurts Mid & Jung, APPLY THE PRESSURE
7/ Help YOUR Jungler Secure ENEMY Buffs
8/ Buy an Elixir if going HAM (Akali?)
1/ Back away + Let it PUSH! (Don't waste time, get raptors/wolves, safely cs)
2/ Setup Ganks
3/ Stall Lane Deep (Freeze) & CS
4/ DO NOT ROAM (Unless Free Kills Obv) -6deaths
5/ Get YOUR own Raptors/Wolves, NOT Enemies as you could DIE
6/ BUILD RESIST (ie Chalice, Seeker's Armguard, Abby Scepter)
7/ DO NOT TAKE THE BLUE BUFF. -3deaths
Creep Wave Management
~Creep Wave Management:
1/ Before minions cross the lane make sure you pull the first 3 minions with you to the middle
L-(so they follow you but you shouldn't take any hits this will make sure that those 3 minions will focus on ONE minion only)
2/ Enemy Level 2 First? = Pushing to your Side. HOWEVER, YOU GET LEVEL 3 FIRST.
3/ DO NOT ever kill the mage minions instantly early game or even, don't try to 1 shot 1 or 2 minions as they appear in lane.
L-If you do this, the wave will be frozen NEAR the enemy turret.
4/ Time your back before a cannon wave. So you want to miss the full wave BEFORE the cannon one. (cannon gives you 2.5xp of normal minions)
L-(Siege minions come every 3rd wave. Normal > Normal > Siege.)
5/ Kill the MAGE minions first then aa the enemy and trade with them.
L- MAGES do the MOST dmg so if you kill them first, the enemy will lose out by taking more minion damage. (Kill 2 or all 3 b4 Harass)
6/ After Killing Enemy Laner Make SURE Wave is pushing your side slightly! (Make sure enemy wave has +1 creep than you)
L-(This means it will slow push very slowly until you can come back. Back off after that.)
L-((If you stay too long (and get ganked) or if you semi push the wave. Then it will sit on the enemy's side and slow push to them.)
L-This will let them have an XP lead OVER YOU even though you just killed them 1v1. BEWARE OF THIS))
*7: In order to properly auto-push lanes:
---Kill off the enemy ranged minions and leave the melee minions to tank your wave.
(Due to their higher natural HP, they will survive long enough that you will stack a second wave onto the current one.)
L-((This can be done twice or three times if necessary to automatically push any lane.))
**8: Covering Minion HP:
---Procedure: Locate yourself below your minion and cover its HP bar with your own HP bar
L--Usage: In lane, this can easily piss off your enemy and it is more likely that he will miss cs.
L-Tips: While he's busy left clicking on the minion to manually check its HP, you can attempt to attack him!

~Also mini-side note~ Meta-wise, I've found Ionian boots to be immensely more worthwhile than Sorc's primarily due to the CDR and the utility it brings, also considering the tank meta and the moreso pickup of Liandry's/Void-Staff the CD is just so worthwhile, I mean 5% from masteries, 20% from Morello's and 15% from Boots, you get maxed!
