// This guide will hopefully help you become a better Diana player, she is a fun assassin AP champ that usually goes mid lane and can also jungle. (Jungle Guide coming soon.) Also this is my first guide so constructive criticism will be noted.

Pros / Cons


Pros


+ Great burst champ.
+ One of the more tanky AP champs. (Although still "squishy")
+ Good wave clear.
+ Easy farm from distance with Crescent Strike.
+ Can do fast wraiths while taking little damage with Pale Cascade.
Cons


- Not a big treat in lane till 6.
- Not the greatest at escapes.
- Focused in team fights.
- Weak against a good poke champ early.

MASTERY // This is a pretty typical mid AP champ mastery setup, move speed is nice on melee champs and the buff increase will give you an edge if enemy mid doesn't have the mastery.

Ability Explanation



  • Crescent Strike(Q): // Diana bread and butter skill, hits everything in its path and also enemies affected by this will cause your ultimate to suffer no cooldown.
    TIP: Can be use to check bushes the debuff applies vision of a target.
  • Pale Cascade (W): // Does AOE damage around Diana Also applies a shield that will shield for 2x if all 3 orbs hit enemies.
    TIP: Use when clearing waves and Wraiths to take minimal damage.
  • Moonfall (E): // An ok soft CC, will pull enemies around Diana towards her and also slow them. Helpful in ganks and also keeps people close for your (W).
  • Lunar Rush (R): // Gap closer that also does damage. If enemy is affected by your (Q) and you use this skill there is no cooldown allowing you to use it more than once in a short time frame.
    NOTE: You can only ult once per debuff.
  • Moonsilver Blade : // Passive scales off AP and on every 3rd auto attack deals the bonus damage ability also cleaves. Lich Bane synergies will with this passive.




Items





Abyssal Scepter is a very strong item for Diana against an AP mid, both for the defensive capability and if you are going to be hitting someone they will be in range and suffering from the debuff.

I don't see this item on alot of Diana guide and I don't know why. To me this item gives you so much more burst potential. Your 1st auto attack will proc the Lich Bane damage and then your 3rd attack will proc your passive damage. So with Q, R, Lich Bane, W and 3rd auto attack, the damage output is crazy.

This item is great if you need ALOT more burst towards the end of your build. This item is very common on AP mids and I usually pick this up myself. But this item isn't by any means a staple in this build. If you need to "tank up" grab a GA instead.



Teamfights


// Diana has a decent amount of AOE damage with Pale Cascade and Moonsilver Blade but first off in a teamfight you are going to either want to take out the ADC or the AP mid by hitting a (Q) and rushing in with all you have. When everything is on cooldown make sure you pop Zhonya's Hourglass to wait your cooldowns out and to get the enemies off of you. Then focus down the rest of the priorities.
Other than these basics as an assassin champ you will be looking for someone out of place to burst down before a teamfight. Try to keep enemy wraiths and buffs warded to make this easier.



Summary


// CONCLUSION: Diana is a fun champ to play if you like mobile assassin champs. She is a solid choice and is never a bad pickup unless your team is in need of hard cc. Being able to jungle or mid makes her versatile. Thanks for reading and hope this helps.
