Introduction

This Diana guide is made to give you the chance of using her abilities to farm your jungle safely and allowing you to have a great sustain without having much max. life. An early purchase of the new Jungler item, that is perfectly stacking with dianas abilities, allows you to stay on high health. Your jungle-clearance will be extremly fast right from the point in the game when
is finished.

ALTERNATIVE RUNES + SITUATIONAL ITEMS + MORE DEFENSIV MASTERY MIX ARE SHOWN IN THE ALTERNATIVE BUILD

Items

Using the new jungle-item and chalice of harmony is only one possibility to spend your early gold.
An early Hextech Gunblade or Liandris Tornment will also help you to harass on the lanes and to outfarm the enemy jungler.

This item will seem to be more and more useless the longer the game goes.... If you get stucked
in a long game, you have to face the right time and sell it !! Same goes for chalice of harmony as long as you dont upgrade it to athene´s unholy grail to fill the whole Spirit o. t. s Wraith has left in you build....

Therefore i opened an alternative Build !!!
JUST TO SHOW ADDITIONAL ITEMS THAT REPLACE SPIRIT
OF THE SPECTRAL WRAITH WHEN GETTING INTO REAAAAAL LATE GAME ;)

Runes

This Rune Setup is basically made to increase dianas early sustain, while mixing up glyphs for a bit of magic resist and ability power late game.. Attack speed reds can be replaced by 6 more magic pen reds, but i experienced that dianas passiv can be extremly helpful...
(you receive ~10% attack speed for those 6 runes.. so your passive will trigger out moreoften)

Skill Sequence

Some players will tell you diana´s Q skill is the best way to outpush and harass enemies but like i explained shortly in the introduction, this guide is aiming on giving diana the chance of quick farming. Early ganks will seem to look senseless, because without your ultimate you aren´t able to catch up to the enemy laners unless they are dumb or you use your flash to get in range for an E Skill.

Getting your ultimate to zero cooldown, by marking enemy champs with your Q-skill before ulti-jumping in, is what you need to master. Be careful when practicing, cause the range you jump in the enemy direction can place you out of position.

In letters your main skill combination is : Q (on enemy ap or ad carry!!) - R - E - W
afterwards you can decide whether you let your Q cooldown to combine Q +R again or simply use your R to dash in an enemy once again. Setting your Ultimate to ~20 sec by not marking a target with Q and using it can end horrible in a teamfight or safe your life. Having your ultimate on CD is dangerous as Diana has no other way to escape if she cant jump on enemy or neutral creeps using the
Q+R comb...

Creeping / Jungling

Early Game:
-right timing of the W-skill, to get a double shield (activation 1-2 sec before first auto-attack)
-secure to get blue buff with early coverage over your blue side of the jungle
- Wolves -> Blue Buff (smite it down!!) -> Wraiths -> golemns -> (smite ready again) red buff ->
Wraiths + maybe Wolves again


> time for the first recall (boots, farie charm + some potions)

When you cleared your jungle and went back to buy you can either gank or simply farm on. Depending on which champs your team is laning against you can try gank before reaching lvl 6. Otherwise you only harass your Enemies when passing by on your jungle route.

Your E-skill is not that necessary for jungling. Save it for the case you get counter-jungled or caught out of position. (you should combine E skill and flash, because E has huge slow but draws enemy champs right next to you)


IN BETWEEN EARLY AND MID GAME: BUY WARDS WHENEVER YOU CAN !!
---> another possibility to escape when you´re getting chased down is to place a ward in a neutral
camp and R-jump on those creeps as fast as you can (this can save you if Q is on cooldown or even if you have your Q, since in my opinion placing a ward and targeting a creep is easier than Q+R- comb over a wall on moving creeps you dont see that good)

When you hit lvl 6 --> farm like a fool by resetting your R !!! You will fly across the map !!


Mid Game:
-try to steal enemy buffs by good map control (BUY WARDS !!)
-roam around and show some presence on the lanes. Your Q-skill flying through the air will really
scare them!!
-when it comes to teamfights make sure E+R are ready (Really short CD on Ultimate but if you waste it right before the fight you cant fly through their tank-line to catch a proper target)
-in a 5v5 try to hit as many champs with your Q, but stay save until you AND YOUR TEAM is ready to iniatiate on them

Late Game:
-in addition to mid game: Q+R combo enables you to catch enemies standing in drake or nashor pit.
----> right timing will kick their a*s
-the choice of your target will decide over victory or defeat! catching a single target is always fine but you need some backup
-roaming around with your team (or 2-3 members) to catch single target seems to be the best option
-before facing a teamfight make sure your grouped.....
-make use of your ultimate do dash away their damage dealers, dash them again to kill or jump to enemies that stand near your team

Team Work

When laning phase ends and it comes to a fight at drake or baron you should be well prepared to react in the right moment. Beeing kind of squishy is a problem that can be solved by the right timing. When you are able to land Q-skills on fragile enemy targets and your team is grouped up next to you, manage to ulti-jump in right after the q has landed. IF your team is ready for that moment, your ultimate combined with your E-Skill will catch your target and allow an easy kill. Good warding (as it always seems to be usefull o0) and a team that is able to stay grouped and ready for quick takedowns will make diana a horrible fast initiator.

Every Game is different !! some of your opponents see diana in the loading screen and know who they will focus all game, some people don´t... you will quickly notice if you get focused down or if you are invited to do Pentakills all day long!!
