This is my first build ever on mobafire, but i have had so much success with this build that i felt i needed to share it, this guide wont have much description on the character itself but ill try my best to fill in as much as a can.
all of my runes are for skarners early game progression
as for marks i go for flat physical damage to supplement his early game lack in damage
glyphs i go flat magic resist to make him more durable
seals are flat armor for the same reason as the glyphs
my quints i go flat health, once again for the survivability early game
my masteries are set up for the for making skarner very strong and very scary mid to early late game. enough said.
for my items this is my standard build for skarner i haven't had any problems, and haven't had to change any of the items yet but u can switch out anything if u feel that it is needed.
my skills are set up for damage output more than for the survivability, if your not an aggressive player than your probably not got gonna like skarner all that much. your Q is your bread and butter if u sequence it with your W then you can spam it alot making up for your early game lack in damage. your ultimate is one of the most important abilities to skarner in my opinion this ability has so many uses its hard to name all of them, and so ill only list a few. First flash and grab can kill an enemy in seconds if u pull it off just flash in grab him and pull him to your team they'll do the rest, make sure you hit Q while pulling him so u can slow him right when he gets un-snared. second is using it defensively, pop W run up hit them hit your Q always then if they break your shield use your ultimate, you may think but thats a waste cause you cant hurt them while there snared and your right you cant, but it will let your shield come off CD and thats what you want. third is saving a teamate you can just kind of imagine this one for yourself. as for his e once you get it and if you have blue buff then i don't see why not to use it for more damage and a small heal. now this build is pretty hefty on needing blue buff but thats fine cause once your get your zeal n zerker greaves you can get blue right away.
my summoner spell choices are for being even more aggressive in the laning phase don't be afraid to use them even if u cant garantee the kill its great for pushing people out of lane or even if lucks on your side picking up that first blood.
basically in a nut shell you should play as if you can kill anyone even if the character has an avantage over you such as range if you have flash you can kill them.
