Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
You're gunna want to get a good leash on blue, after smiting Blue, head to wolves, then wraiths. After wraiths you will still be level two (To gank effectively, youre gunna want to have your Q W and E) so head to golems, frenzy the big one first, and smite him, and finish other golem. Immediately after getting your third ability, run to gank either top or bot (whichever side has golem) and use your ghost to hunt down a victim that doesn't have flash, or has already flashed. The best way to use your abilities for ganks is to use your Q to flip the enemy, and immediately use your E so that you can get a few more hits on the enemy while they are feared, giving you the opportunity to use your W and bite that mother! After ganking a few times, resume jungling and try your best to hold out on returning to base until you can afford giant's belt, and are close to level six.
Mid and Late Game
After getting some of your basic items (Primarily Warmogs and Mobility Boots), continue to feed yourself by jungling VERY LITTLE, and looking for squishy enemies that are by themselves (and dont have flash). During and after this team, you should start having teamfights, which are a cakewalk for voli:
Basically, if your build is going well, group up with teamates, and dont be affraid to initiate. Since Volibear is viewed as a tank, you are most likely not going to be targeted with an AD or AP carry near you. When initiating, youre going to want to flip, fear, and use your ultimate. You can use your frenzy at the begining of the team fight, but I like to use it to get fed by last hitting, or to kill a low HP champion that is trying to escape.
I promise you, the combination of Mobility Boots, Ghost, and Frozen Mallet basically makes it impossible for enemies to escape. Don't be affraid to initiate, as you are viewed as a 'nonthreat' for being a tank and won't be targeted, and on top of that you have about 4k health.
Basically your core is BOOTS OF MOBILITY, WARMOGS, ICONIC SPARK, and FROZEN MALLET, I have MAW OF MALMORTIUS for extra frenzies when close to death, and INFINITY EDGE for extra damage. You can switch those last two items for any health, attack speed, or attack damage, and you will succeed. I also recomment ATMAS IMPALER.
