Hello. Welcome to my first ever guide on LoL. This may not look as nice and as attractive as the other top rated guides, but the content will be up there hopefully! None of that hyperlink techy, BBCoding whatever. Just Volibear straight up.
I am a Volibear main, i play on NA and im currently in Silver4, and was once in Bronze5. Now, you might think, this guys is in Silver, he is trash. My voli certainly isn't trash, even if I am.
To the guide.

I will be talking about how to use Voli, in different roles, who he shines against, who shines with, and who fails against. I'll discuss different builds, and how to use him effectively.
This build, and my play style, is massively influenced by Trick2g.

If jungling, start with your blue, make sure you get a good leash, Voli can't solo buffs at level 1. Then take your wolves, and rush to their immediately. Ward it with your trinket. Then move to the other bush, behind the walls of Red, incase he decides to check the ones to the side, where most people stand, thats why you have vision on it, so you can be a safe distance away, and creep up when you see it go low, or he smites. Take note here, wait till they engage it, and hopefully smite early, thinking its uncontested. If they smite early, you can steal it easily, then get your level 3, and destroy them for an easy first blood. If it goes down to be a contested smite, click on the red, and watch its health, smite at level 2 does 490 true damage. So try to smite then. Even if he gets the red, by smiting correctly, you can still kill him, because he will be relatively low on Hp, and have some abilities on cooldown. Risky if he is 3 and you aren't.

Now if you aren't a Trick2g kind of guy, and don't like counter jungling, the safe way is to start with your red, then take the wraiths, your blue, and a gank top or mid.
If all your lanes are doing ok, and your jungler is clear, don't be afraid to surprise their jungler at their wolves or wraiths, where they could be low, or counter jungle, and always leave one of the pets, unless its mini golems or wight obviously.

Volibear needs to get tanky early/mid game, for successful dives and ganks, and being able to duel. Building HP helps your W, Frenzy , and your passive, The Relentless Storm Bigger bites, more healing. Then comes, increased healing effects, and regen. You can't imagine how good a Spirit Visage, Warmog's Armor, combination is with Volibear's passive. The healing is much higher with the increased regen from these 2 items, along with the spirit of ancient golem
