Introduction

Why Rammus?

Rammus is one of the most underrated champions right now. In fact hes at least in the top 5 of the strongest junglers. The difference is just that rammus ain't a carry jungler like noc/lee but focused on supporting your lanes. He's jungling ****ing fast and the best ganker of the junglers. Once you know how to play him u'll get into the lane b4 the enemy can react and make ppl cry with your cc.

I don't see rammus in pro games so he can't be too good!

You're totally wrong. The reason u don't see him that often is that most tourny junglers (Saintvicious/Oddone..) prefer junglers u can carry with. Rammus is actually strong but very teamdependant as he does no dmg compared to lee sin e.g.

Can you play rammus in any other role?

In the current meta jungle rammus is the strongest. Support rammus is also possible 'coz of his strong cc. But if u support ROAM! GANK MID whenever your ad carry can hold the lane for a minute.

I don't have the right runes to jungle rammus

Actually u can play him with literally every rune set. The armor buff of w is just sick. The only really necessary runes are armor yel.

Summoner Spells

Must have as a jungler. This skill gets your team dragons, barons, and steals buffs.

Probably the best choice 'coz u can flash taunt people and get succesful ganks though they are close to their turrets.

Only as support but usually - NO!

Skills

Q: Your main skill to enter lanes. Already start powerballing 'bout 1s before you enter the lane so you enter it when u are fast as hell.

W: Your main jungling skill. This skill does most of your damage.

E: This skill is making rammus so strong. 3s taunt makes 1 of them cry.

R: Does some dmg to champs. You can steal their buffs faster.

Why not max e instantly?
This is to get some defense for diving and do a little dmg. Especially when you gank a lane with ap char (usually mid) it doesn't make a big difference if you taunt 2 or 3 secs at lvl 9. Your ap carry still does 1 big burst no matter if u have 1s more cc or not. Still maxing e instantly is viable. Same goes for skilling w at 3. Feel free to swap some points from w to e and the other way.

as rammus is such a strong ganker u'll be on the lane alot and force ganks - these items will get u some gold - with philo u can give 2nd blue to some1 else (sometimes it is better to take blue yourself, but usually give it to midlaner) - HoG gives you some tankyness

Things to consider when choosing boots:
a) Does the enemy team have lots of cc
b) Does the enemy team have lots of ad/ap chars
c) Is on of the enemy champions fed
d) Do you need dodge against on hits (e.g. against kog 'coz his w does way too much dmg)

HERE THE STANDARD ITEMS END! YOU CAN'T PICK SAME ITEMS EVERYGAME THAT DOESN'T WORK.

Good armor items for rammus:
1.Does some nice dmg as ppl stay at least 3s in your range
2.Alway a nice thing to revive. Not the best choice though 'coz when u die usually your team is dead too and alone u won't be able to do much on your own
3.AS+Movement debuff good thing to have (against vayne or kog)
4.AS debuff and lots of mana - usually u get either FH or Randuin and ask some1 in your team to get the other
5.does some dmg to enemies - usually worse than sunfire
6.weird choice but gives u some dmg so u aren't completely useless in teamfight after your 3s taunt - always combine with warmmog/frozen mallet

Good MR items for rammus
1.movement speed bonus is alway good for rammus - gives lots of MR aswell as health regen
2.the passive is nice but smart enemies dont waste their best skill on banshee so the only advantage is the health and mana

Good health items for rammus
1.gives some tankyness but without stacks not the best choice so get it early or leave it
2.if u didnt get warmog early but want to buy atmas for more dmg and armor this is the best choice to build next

Of course the armor items with hp are good choices for hp as well but takes too long to list them all again.

Usually u pick 2-3 tanky items (full tank) and finish the build with either some dmg or aura items to buff your team or debuff the enemy team. Any aura item is actually good to have but u should ask your support what he buys 'coz auras don't stack.

One last thing: You don't have to build lantern but you can 'coz it's good on every jungler. Still i think it's not too good on rammus 'coz low AS means low number of procs and there are way better choices.
