i have just a quick question. why get boots of mobility instead of, say, mercury treds? i know that moving around is important, but what do you do for CC reduction that helps so many tanks?

honestly my opinion of tanks like jax would not to be to get an aegis, i would rush odem or get a sunfire or even warmongs just so you can be more of a tank and less of a support but i do like your ideas behind shen and your guide +1

I do understand what you mean with this but this build is more to be a supportive role in the fights. You will be mostly focussing on your ultimate and your Vorpal Blade. These are both very supportive attacks.

The only problem with rushing to a warmongs or a sunfire is that Shen isn't that strong and he is melee so you will have to do your best to get last kills.

Doran's Shield shouldn't be a core.

Also note that Ardor has little use on this build, seeing you build no AP or attack speed.

Perseverence is not good. You have no mana regen and the regen from Force of Nature should be good enough. To be a good tank, its not having a ton of regen anyway, but HP, Armor and Magic resist.

Besides that, this is kind of a short guide with little explanations. You may want to work on that.

Hope it helps!

Amumu Guide :D

Eve guide :D

Hope whatever I say helps! :D

PS : Not all my criticism is good. Most of the time, I just talk like that anyway. So forgive me if you get offended, unless you just can't look from my angle, or at least close enough.

I do understand that but being a tank also means that people have to attack you!

Stacking alot of hp, armor and MR makes you a tank that everyone will avoid and that's not what you want! Also you say that you want a ton of hp, armor and MR but then you say that I stack no AP and attack speed ... As a tank, you aim for assists, not kills, you need to take aggro away from the enemy's and let your carry's kill them! That's why they stack AP/attck speed/... and you hp, armor and MR!

A short guide? Yes, but that's personel, I prefer a shorter guide wich doesn't annoy you by saying the same things over and over again or bores you with tons of text, images, colors, ...
But I'll add some more explanations and some situational items and such!

I take Doran's Shield in the core because at the end you will have 1 itemslot free and this is a very nice item for only having to buy 1 item! Well, what do you suggest to replace it with maybe? (I'm not a fan of potions, you have your vorpal blade and feint to cover your *** if you fail)

Thanks for the comment

To help clarify what deathalo44 is saying...

Doran's shield, as you both said should be sold and as a replacement, i feel that a health item such as frozen mallet would be appropriate due to his passive and ability to get in melee range with his e. In other words, an item that provides a moderate amount of hp or another magic resist item if you like going heavy on resists. However, keep in mind that only the core should carry over from game to game. Each game is unique in the challenges you face

Preservance and Ardor actually are not all they advertise upon investigation. I remember seeing various articles with the hard numbers on Preservance and they went all too pretty. Ardor, now that i look at it, isnt too great for a tank mastiery as it applies to bonus attack speed and AP. With most tank builds, this is typically not the scene for boosted offensive stats.

I hope this helps and didn't just completely undermine Deathalo44 (we still love you and good catch on the Ardor mastery)

Thanks man, changed a bit my masteries, I hope they are a bit better now and about the items: I will take a deeper look into that when I have some time (not today or tomorrow)!
