Hey just got my a** handed to me by Udyr top. Blew me away as I've been just dominating with Olaf by taking some of your tips. It's mostly my fault for a lack of knowledge in Udyr but any suggestions would be much appreciated.

He was probably speaking on a specific match up because I don't think Dyrus would say that as a blanket statement (It's inherently wrong, that's why)

Q is really good against squishies with low armor values, this is undeniable. I actually have been getting points in Q and getting 2-3 Doran's blades against squishy champions for superior lane dunkage. You just stay away from them and kite and chunk with Axes. For this set up you'll want armor pen runes, AD will suffice if you don't have those. Q can be picked up and thrown again quickly, and if you're gearing into Olaf's Q, and your opponent has no armor, then yes, it will deal more damage than E.

But, this guide is focused on how to beast the tanky type of solo top laners.

Most solo top laners can/will buy armor and whatnot, and maxing E and going tanky mode will enable Olaf to smash their faces.

Yeah basically.

Buy a Wriggle's, E his face and then W to heal on creeps.

Since he's full melee range, he MUST come to you to get creeps, you'll always be able to E his face and out-heal him on creeps when you have some life steal.

Udyr wins early, Olaf outscales him though and wins lane later.

I gotta say, solid guide. I can stroll into the enemy team 1v5 with this build, kill someone, and simply walk out. Great guide man. I'm surprised it's not #1.

The yesterday...was 0/3 as olaf...was GOING to use your guide but i thought we were going to lose...so i built as a joke, bezerker greaves, warmogs, giants belt, atmas, finish frozen heart, phantom dancer, and a BT....it...was...awesome...you should try it...you just become the most obnoxious champion in teh world, but it only works if your team has a fair amount of dmg and really needs someone to just start balls-deep initiating. but i like your guide as well :D +1

I dont know if someone mentioned Swain yet, at least you didnt do it in your Guide.

I started playing Olaf today, but have to admit that im not very good with him yet.
I've had a Swain on top and didnt really know what to do against him. A well placed Snare and you Harrass is over. Past 6 you can do something against it, but you cant allways ult when he snares you. Even if you dodge the most of them he can slow you and heals hisself without having some CD on it.
Yes, maybe you could wait until he loses all his mana and just heal yourself on his creeps, but they had a Kennen in mid, so he had got some blues and it was over with the mana problems.

But as I said, im not the best with him yet, so what would you do against him?
Is Executioners Calling viable with him against champs like that?

Nope, Executioner's calling is never viable.

Take ignite ghost and run him down :)

Great advice there mate, using your advice on going more defensive with runes for the naming phase really paid off for me. Won most of my games as Olaf.
