Hey guys, Duff again.

This was the first build I've completed off of my "Requests" page, and I was delighted when somebody requested Singed.

Singed is actually a champion I love playing, and a champion that I consider myself to be rather good at.

Here we'll go over (And focus on) the way I play Singed in 5v5 games, (Not the same as how I play him in 3v3's) and why. (The second build listed is actually for 3v3 play, and the other 4 builds are for 5v5 play)

Hope you enjoy, and go check out the build requests page and let me know what champion you want to see next! (Apologies if the guide's don't come out right away, writing guides takes some time.)

Here we go =)

Singed in a nutshell.

Singed is a champion who I believe is best played as a full tank. Maybe someday somebody will build a legit AP Singed or something, or even be really random and build AD or something crazy, but, for this guide we're gonna outline full tank Singed for 5v5's.

With Singed, and the items provided here, you're going to be perhaps the most invincible tank that there is in League of Legends. The only other champion I can think of who could compete would be Alistar when built full tank, and even then his tankiness won't last as long as Singed's. He's quite literally almost impossible to kill when fully geared.

Also, we're going to evaluate Singed's skills, item choices to compliment these skills, and basically go through a general overview of Singed to achieve a greater understanding of what is actually a great champion who is often underestimated and misunderstood at lower levels of play.

We're building a tank, who has lot's of CC. Keep that in mind, a TANK... With lots of CC.

Where should you be as Singed?

Ideally, to make the most out of Singed, I think he should be top lane in a 1v1.

Singed scales really well with levels and farm, and actually beats a lot of the annoying sustain lanes when in a 1v1. He can even farm fairly well even in lanes verse champions he can't beat.

He actually -is- one of those annoying sustain lanes, via the HP regen on his ult.

In a duo lane, he won't have the ability to make use of solo lane farm/exp or his sustain as well, and that will hinder your success with Singed. He's one of the few tanks that literally becomes tankier with his ult, meaning that getting higher level faster will allow you to tank harder earlier in the game.

For these reasons, I say, solo top lane, or pick a different champ.

Very awkward play-style!

Singed has a playstyle that can be compared a little bit to that of Udyr, but in other ways it's entirely unique.

Singed doesn't have to stick to a target and deal damage like Udyr does. If you're off chasing some target away while a 5v5 teamfight is raging, then chances are, you're not playing this champion correctly.

Instead, Singed wants to "Touch" key targets with his poison, and run around and keep it applied to the targets he desires, which will apply Rylai's 15% slowing, and make team-fighting much more difficult for your opponents.

You often times don't have to land a fling either. Sometimes running at a champion and "Threatening" that champion with a fling is good enough already, as they will be forced to run back and be unable to deal damage.

Generally Singed has a few main roles.

-Initiate

-Disable/Interrupt (His fling can break Nunu ults, etc)

-Enable team members to escape fights alive, via slows (His aoe goop and his Rylai's slow poison should make chasing down your team members almost impossible, but this is only true if you buy Rylai's.)

-Until you have sufficient tank items, you will be top farming. This may be a bit boring to you, but as long as you are in the lane pushing forever and farming, they will have to have someone else in the lane as well or forfeit their tower. Via careful warding, this can be achieved safely.

-When geared, you must be a fearless SPARTAN! You will be the spearhead into their team, and slow everything you deem necessary to slow. Don't be the noob Singed who over-estimates his survivability and runs in and goes SPLAT. Instead, be the Singed who farmed well and knows how to take a hit.

Duff, explain the items?

Well, you may have noticed there are a few items that are fairly consistent throughout the builds, and other items which change and vary between builds.

Basically, when playing Singed, you run into the fight and threaten other players via slows, and your fling.

You literally have no other way to threaten. Later on your poison doesn't deal enough damage to truly be considered "threatening" in a team-fight, although occasionally you will get a hilarious poison kill mid fight, and everyone laughs because you weren't even close to the champion who died. Good times.

Basically, you need to threaten by improving your CC capability, and also by enabling yourself to just walk through their team.

End game Singed is often times entirely capable of walking through teams as if they weren't even there.

Priority items:

-Rylai's.

This is your best item as Singed. If you don't think this is true, it's because you're AWFUL at this game and have NO understanding as to the role of what tanking means. You have to be outputting CC, and this is the best way to do so.

It's what takes Singed from that weird guy you can just ignore, and turns him into that problem that makes catching your opponents almost impossible as you are slowed in the trail you leave.

Also, Singed's Ult gives large resistances and regen, and Rylai's offers a healthy block of HP to make the most of those benefits.

RYLAI'S IS YOUR BEST ITEM AS SINGED, AND IT IS A MUST BUY- EVERY GAME. IF YOU DON'T BUY THIS ITEM, YOU NEED TO IMPROVE YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF LEAGUE OF LEGENDS AND REALIZE THAT YOUR LOGIC IS FLAWED! JUST BECAUSE FKING AWFUL PLAYERS WILL CHASE YOU THROUGH YOUR POISON, DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU SHOULD BE BUILDING ACCORDINGLY. BUILD YOUR CHAMPION TO WIN TEAMFIGHTS AND WIN GAMES, NOT TO POTENTIALLY GET A KILL BECAUSE SOME ****** CHASED YOU THROUGH YOUR POISON TRAIL UNTIL HE DIED!

-Warmogg's

Again, one of Singed's best items. Personally I would say this is probably his second best item.

His ult gives a fat block of resistances (65 at top rank) and the best way to maximize your general survivability at this point is via Warmogg's. If you force your enemy to build items like Madred's against you, THAT'S OKAY. That means you're doing your job, because Madred's isn't going to be as deadly against a squishy as perhaps an Infinity Edge or whatever else they might have purchased in it's place. DON'T refrain from building the right item just because a counter exists. Force your enemy to counter you, and you're taking them out of what they had initially planned to do. (Not to mention Madred's is an incredibly expensive and this will delay their other items substantially.)

-Merc tread's / Movement speed boots / Ninja Tabi.

When to buy which boot..?

Personal favorite are the Merc tread's. 30% Crowd Control Reduction on your ult + 35% Tenacity on your Merc treads = A very hard tank to pin down. It makes it almost impossible for you to die, if you accurately evaluate the situations. It can also be useful in baiting CC's, which will allow your team to act more freely.

If you buy movement speed boots, you will still have your 30% Crowd Control Reduction from your ult- while your ult is active. That's good, but you may want a Banshee's veil to help ensure you can get in and get your flings off.

Ninja tabi is the ultimate counter to Auto attacking champions, because it is the cheapest counter to auto attackers. If you're playing ranked, and you see a few scary auto attackers, think logically here. With large enough health and your ultimate, and perhaps a Banshee's veil, Magic damage won't be a problem- you're gonna live through that. The sustained and high damage output of end game auto attackers with an item like Last Whisper and good crit chance is what's going to kill Singed, not much else when everyone's farmed. You can eat an Orianna ball into a Annie Tibber's drop + full combo and just run around like nothing happened, but if you try to tank full gear Caitlyn/Ashe/Tristana etc, it's a different story. For this reason, Ninja Tabi and dodge runes are an excellent choice, and should be kept in mind and considered for your games. Don't underestimate your dodges proc'ing nimbleness as well - A very powerful dynamic for a champion like Singed who relies on move speed so heavily.

-Randuin's Omen

There's not enough to be said about this item.

If Ninja Tabi aren't the best counter to Auto attackers, then Randuin's IS best counter to Auto attacking. The combo is a stunning amount of protection against auto attackers, and chances are you'll be able to tank more than one auto attacker with that combo, between dodges and slowing attack and move speed proc's.

It also build handily out of a Gp10 item, making it easier to obtain, and offers 5% CDR (Not to be under estimated)

Warden's mail is one of the most cost effective counter's to solo lane AD champions and other sustain type champions. Jarvan, Lee Sin, to name a few, are stopped dead in their tracks by warden's mail. If you're worried about the lane you're in, you can build your HoG, a warden's mail, and lane safely while you farm. You can finish your Randuin's early, and this will act as your AoE slow until you farm up your Rylai's.

There's a reason this item shows up on almost every tanky champion guide I make. It's one of the best protective items in the entire game, and the active is in my opinion, the best active on any item, Zhonya's and Youmuu's being tied for a close #2 spot.

-Banshee's Veil

Another example of a great item for Singed. If Taric keeps stunning you at the last moment before you get your fling, a Banshee's veil will allow you to get in next time and land that fling.

Also keep in mind, it actually is adding 468 HP, not 375, due to Singed's passive. A very substantial block of HP.

However, unlike a wide popular opinion, I don't consider this item to be a "Must build" or a "Must rush after Rylai's item" either. It's just a very excellent choice, and a counter pick to obnoxious CC's which stop you from doing your job. (Merc treads at end game should be almost enough with that much CCR, but mid game you probably won't be tanky enough to just waltz into their entire team and fling someone)

-Force of Nature

Again, one of Singed's best items.

It synergizes with his ultimate in literally every way, and makes him sort of have a mini version of his ult on at all times.

Not to mention it's the highest MR item in the game.

I personally prefer FoN on Singed, even slightly more than Banshee's Veil in lots of cases. This item is an exceptional choice for Singed.

-Frozen Heart

More ways to protect your team, and Singed really makes the most of this item's awesome stats.

Area of effect attack speed debuff, nuff said. Late game this will be your biggest weakness, so combating that weakness will be invaluable. It will also be beneficial to your mates.

99 armor, and 500 mana are also no joke. Keep in mind this means 125 HP as well for Singed via his passive.

20% CDR means more ultimates, more flings, more slowing goop... This item is an amazing choice for Singed.

-Thornmail

Normally, I genuinely dislike this item, but due to the Nature of Singed, I believe it's a viable choice on him.

Almost literally nothing is going to kill you end game except a full on auto attacker. Your HP will be high enough, and in combo with your poison, Auto attackers are going to be hesitant to try to kill you with a thornmail. You'll basically be a porcupine that everyone is scared of but can't ignore.

FIRST BUY YOUR WARMOGG'S (Or have at least 3k HP). That will allow you to survive long enough to make use of this item.

A very decent pick when auto attackers are scary and you know you can easily survive their AP burst.

-Rod of Ages

CONTROVERSIAL STATEMENT INCOMING.

Don't build this unless you're playing 3v3.

On the Twisted treeline map, yes, Rod of Ages is great because everyone needs to be able to deal damage there.

On Summoners rift, however, you just need to be the tank, and there are other items that get the job done better.

DON'T get all OOGLEY EYED over Singed's passive and just zone into it like a full ******. There are better tanking item combinations out there, like the ones I've provided here.

Summary;

If you're playing 3v3, use the Rod of Ages build here.

If you're playing 5v5, use the other 4 builds as you see fit.

When to build what during laning phase?

-Philo stone: cheap over time sustainability and mana regen. This keep Singed in the lane longer, and allows for more farm. Some people achieve this via Catalyst. I like Philo stone, because I don't build RoA in 5v5's and don't always build Banshee's either. +GP10 owns. Don't buy this if you're planning to buy a catalyst. Get that asap instead.

-Warden's mail: Cheap, incredibly effective counter to AD solo lane champions like Jarvan, Lee Sin, garen, Irelia, etc. Particularly great against mana users, but no less effective against cooldown/energy users. Keeps Singed in lane, and that's what we want. Builds into Randuin's, and if you need Warden's now, you'll need Randuin's later.

-Negatron cloak: Buy this and a regrowth pendant or two for a similar effect to the Warden's mail in terms of sustainability and reduction of damage. Again, verse guys like Morde and Rumble, this is what we want. Builds into FoN, one of Singed's best items.

-Catalyst: When you already know you'll build RoA or Banshee's veil, you can buy this and become an immovable object that will never be pushed out of lane. The amount of heal you'll get between your ult and this when you level up will keep you in lane forever as long as you don't die like an idiot :) Only buy if you want Banshee's for 5v5 or RoA for 3v3. Also, when you build catalyst, don't buy the philo stone. It's a waste of time, I only buy philo for free lane sustain because I don't often build BV or RoA, and I need lane presence.

-After achieving sustain verse your lane, (However much or little that may be, sometimes just the Philo Stone is even good enough) build your Rylai's. It's your best item and you need it for teamfights, whenever one might happen. Also, it protects you much better verse ganks as well, forcing opponents to chase through slowing poison.

At this point, continue to build as a normal tank, planning and preparing for your first team fight.

Function:

The way I play Singed is full tank, and since you are reading my guide and following my build and advice, that's how you'll be playing him too.

In order to fully tank, you must buy Rylai's. This is not optional.

This is the only way to provide your team with enough CC to be considered a "Tank" at all.

Your goop has an amazing amount of CC as is, and adding a 35% slow onto your fling is just amazing.

With well over 4k life (On a few of them even breaking 5k) on all the builds, and with resistances ranging from 150-300+ when your ultimate is factored, you'll be essentially invincible when your full gear is completed. Mind what's causing you damage and build against it, and remember that geared auto attackers will be your only true threat late game.

You will want to protect your carries and endanger your opponents squishy champions so they are unable to effectively participate in the fight.

CC everything!

Intelligent and fast initiations made with proper warding and map control win games!

Be the perfect initiate, and always catch your opponents when the time is right! As a tank your team will be following you!

Watch high Elo video and stream to learn Singed, he's a very straightforward, but simultaneously tricky champion to play and master.

Most importantly, have fun! This champion is hilarious to play and a lot of fun!

Summary.

Tank those noobs for your team!

Farm forever in top lane, and when you've got good and tanky, fight!

BUY RYLAI'S YOU FREAKIN' NOOB OR YOU'RE NOOOOT VERY GOOD AT THIS GAME. =)

Don't get TOO focused on Singed's passive... Tank items first, gimmicks later.

Enjoy!

Have fun with it, I sure do when I play Singed ;)

Cheers!
