Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Hello people at MOBA!
Bio: My gamertag is zyeboix and I am a EU NE player with a big experience of games like Lol since I started playing HoN in 2009 and then ended my HoN "career" due to the lack of interest and the motivation to find a new game to love. That's when I found LoL and started with it.
Why did I do create this build: Ok so I've played some games with Elise and been trying out different builds on her and I found this one to be the most efficient one. This one is especially made for Elise Mid, but with some small changes it can be a good Elise Top guide too.
This guides "goal" is to get you enough tanky and do crazy amounts of damage in a mid lane. If all goes well those items will give you a clear road to victory in your games.
So let's get started!
Elise the Spider Queen
Vicious and elegant, Elise's charismatic grace lures the innocent and greedy alike into her web of deceit. While her victims may discover her true intentions, no one has ever lived to reveal what dark secrets lie behind her enigmatic guise.
In dark halls, hidden from society, Elise preached the word of a mythical spider god. Her desperate followers hungered for the god's favor, believing its blessings to be the source of Elise's vibrance and power. When Elise proclaimed that she would lead a pilgrimage to the spider god's shrine, she selected only her most devout disciples to join her. Ecstatic, the chosen few followed her blindly as she led them on a perilous journey across the sea. When they came ashore at their final destination, the mysterious Shadow Isles, Elise led them to a cavern shrouded in webs. Expecting a shrine, the group looked to their priestess in confusion. She turned to the crowd and raised her arms in triumph, revealing strange, spiderlike legs that grew out of her back. Seeing her terrifying true form for the first time, Elise's followers turned to flee, but she conjured magical webs to trap them. With her victims ensnared, she turned to face the cave and uttered a screeching cry. An enormous undead spider-beast emerged from the darkness, dragging its hideous bulk on thick, pointed legs. Elise's followers could only scream as the monstrous spider ate them alive. She approached the sated creature, extracted its venom, and drank the strange substance. An immediate sense of rejuvenation flowed through her veins. With mortality delayed once again, Elise left to rejoin her congregation. They were overjoyed to hear that their fellows had chosen to remain at the spider god's sacred home. Elise reassured her disciples that she would lead another pilgrimage in due time. The spider god would be waiting.

Beats Tanks Easily
Good gank abilities
Stun and escape spell
Great harassment spells
Difficult to learn
Weak Early Game
High Risk ~ High Gain plays
3 x Greater Quintessence of Ability Power
9 x Greater Mark of Magic Resist
9 x Greater Glyph of Ability Power
9 x Greater Seal of Armor
This is a standard Mid champ rune setup according to me, with good Magic Pen and the AP Glyphs you do crazy damage, especially with your Q for harassment. The Defensive Greater Mark of Magic Resist and Greater Seal of Armor gives you enough Magic Res and Armor to withstand the damage your enemy does. Combined with the spells Elise got (I'll write more of these further on) noone can kill you unless they got massive CC's and you're being cocky enough to stay.
3 x Greater Quintessence of Spell Vamp
9 x Greater Mark of Attack Speed
9 x Greater Glyph of Magic Penetration
9 x Greater Seal of Vitality
This is a little more conflexed Elise Mid Rune setup. These Runes gives you an amazing amount of damage and so on it gives you control against most of the Mids you are possible to face, althoght I myself prefer going with the PRIMARY SETUP because you get better sustain in the lane.
For the Masteries I can only figure out 1 good Point setup because the others got their flaws. Sure they might be another setup that I haven't thought but hey, noone can be perfect right!? Anyways here it is.
Summoner's Wrath ~ 1/1 point/s.
Mental Force ~ 4/4 point/s.
Sorcery ~ 4/4 point/s.
Arcane Knowledge ~ 1/1 point/s.
Resistance ~ 3/3 point/s.
Hardiness ~ 3/3 point/s.
Durability ~ 4/4 point/s.
Veteran's Scars 1/1 point/s.
Summoner's Insight ~ 1/1 point/s.
Expanded Mind ~ 3/3 point/s.
Improved Recall ~ 1/1 point/s.
Meditation ~ 3/3 point/s.
Runic Affinity ~ 1/1 point/s.
These Masteries gives you the following essential power-ups:
Magic Penetration + 10%
Cooldown Reduction - 4%
Increased Buff Duration + 20%
These power-ups gives you both more damage and your control of your lane AND longer time of your Q harassments so you can easily jump him when he's at half HP and take him down. These are also a bit similiar to the RIOT ones, if not the same, althought these are the ones that work's best with Elises abilities.
Passive: Spider Swarm ~ Whenever your spells hits an enemy, it readies a spiderling for you when you switch to the Spider Form.
Q: Neurotoxin (Scale) 2 % per 100 AP || TARGET-ABLE SPELL ~ You deal damage to a target and equal to how much HP the target has it deals more damage. So if you use your Neurotoxin on an enemy with full HP it deals more damage than it would against an enemy with half HP.
W: Volatile Spiderling (Scale) 80 % of your AP || PROJECTILE SPELL ~ Launches a venom-gorged Spiderling that explodes when it's near a target. Now if you send this Spiderling towards an enemy champion and there is a enemy minion closer, it will automatically go after the champion instead.
E: Cocoon PROJECTILE SPELL ~ Launches a Cocoon that stuns the enemy it hits for 1,5 second/s.
R: Spider Form TOGGLE SPELL ~ Transforms into a Spider. Activates different abilities. When you transform, Spiderlings will spawn as your pets.
Passive: Spider Swarm ~ When you transform into a Spider, your passive will spawn you your pets. How many pets depends on if you've hit your spells in Human. After each time you lay a skill point for your ultimate, this number of Spiderlings will increase.
Q: Venomous Bite (Scale) 2 % per 100 AP || TARGET-ABLE SPELL ~ Launches to target enemy and deals damage equal to how much HP the target has. Deals more damage the less HP it has, so if the target has 50 % HP it deals more damage than if the target had 100 % HP.
W: Skittering Frenzy (Scale) 2 % of your AP || ACTIVATE-SPELL ~ When you activate this spell you and your Spiderlings gain increased Attack Speed and lifesteal. The lifesteal amount is 4 (+ 2 % of your AP).
E: Rappel CLICK-SPELL ~ On Ground Cast - You descend into the air, remaining there in 2 seconds, or if you target an enemy it descends upon it. Gives vision around yourself while in the air.
On Enemy Cast - You descend into the air for a short duration and then launches onto the target (Must be an enemy). Does not give vision around yourself.
R: Human Form TOGGLE-SPELL ~ Transforms into Human form. Activating the Human Form abilities.
Ok so in this build you want to max your Neurotoxin/Venomous Bite since it does more damage equal to the current HP % the target has. Some people want to max your Volatile Spiderling/Skittering Frenzy first because it got AoE damage and longer range. But I don't like this spell because it can be unrelyable even if it priorities enemy champions, it got this "duration" time which makes it explode after a 2-3 second I think. That's why it's easier and more efficient to max your Neurotoxin/Venomous Bite first. The 1 point in your Cocoon/Rappel is very important because it stuns in Human Form AND gives you a great escape mechanism in your Spider Form. Also it gives you great initiation for teamfights and other battles.
As for almost every other champion there is, you want to take a skill point in your Ultimate every time you can which is in lvl 6/11/16.
These are the only Summoner Spells setups I'm offering, since Elise does NOT need Heal, she got her Skittering Frenzy. She does not need Cleanse because she got so good escaping abilities.
Flash is important to have as Elise, well as any champion, because of the improvement you get of it.Escaping, initiating, chasing all get super good. The UTILITY is just awesome.
For Team Fights You should be the one initiating because of your awesome combo. If you use Cocoon into a brush, and HITS someone, you'll see vision around this player. Even if you use Rappel, you can SEE your enemy, because of the vision it grants you. These spells are so good as initiating because you'll see which champions is in that brush and other good information.
Even if it's just HARASSMENT Elise got awesome spells for that too in her Human Form. Just Cocoon and then Volatile Spiderling and you've done crazy damage because of the AoE on Volatile Spiderling.
Same goes for the GANKS
Now since Elise is pretty weak early on, you need to farm alot. Try to stay in Mid Lane as long as you can and get CS. Ask the Jungler if you can have Blue Buff so you can harass your opponent and kill him/her.
As soon as you get your Rylai's Crystal Scepter you can start ganking since you'll have your slow on your Neurotoxin and Venomous Bite since both spells got a ~5 second cooldown. And with Blue Buff it will be even less.
Now, if your lane gets pushed and your minions goes under the enemy turret, then go take your wraiths. Simply just transform into Spider Form and Rappel onto the wraiths, use your Skittering Frenzy and it's kina finished, if needed just switch back to Human Form and use your Volatile Spiderling for the AoE.
These are the most IMPORTANT items you will need. The Magic Res from the Abyssal Scepter will be very much needed if you're up against a AP Mid. If you follow the guide correctly and buy the Negatron Cloak first, your enemy will do absolutely NO DAMAGE at all.
Now there are other ways of building your item setup, althought the one that I've chosen is the most efficient and paid build generally. If you need tankiness you can buy a Guardian Angel or items like that.
This guide provides you the info needed about Elise - The Spider Queen. It shows the items, masteries, runes, skills, skills combo, the farm.
Good AP Damage
Nice sustain in lane
Overall creative and efficient
Not the tankiest build
Not made for pure jungling
Mostly Mid, may be used as Top if it's VS. a AP
