Threats to Sejuani with this build
About the author
Hello, and welcome to my sejuani guide I am a mid silver rated player on the EUW server. I have main sejuani jungle since the pre-season of season six. I chose to main sejuani because I loved to play jungle in season five and I only liked playing tanks. The main reason I liked playing sejuani was because she has great wave clear and she does surprising amounts of damages, and if you build her full tank you are ridiculously hard to kill. This is the reason why I fell in love with sejuani. sejuani is my most played champion this season and it the first champion I ever got mastery level seven on.
Pros/Cons to sejuani
- Deadly post-6 ganks
- Permafrost: AOE slow on a low cooldown; very strong
- Decent AOE damage
- Counters immobile champions
- Good wave clear
- Hard CC on Q: Arctic Assault (knockup) and R: Glacial Prison (stun).
- Weak early game dueling.
- No sustain.
- Lack of single target damage.
Greater Mark of Magic Penetration
Greater Seal of Armor
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist
Greater Quintessence of Scaling Health
These are the runes that I take on Sejuani. I take these because it allows you to do more damage whilst being really tanky.
I take marks of magic penetration to allow me do more damage to champions.
I take seals of armour to make me more tanky in the early game but you can replace them with health, scaling health or scaling armour if you want to scale into the late game. The health will not only make it so you can take more damage but it will also allow you to do more damage with your w Flail of the Northern Winds as it scales with the amout of health you have.
For the glyphs I take magic resist but you can replace them with scaling magic resist to again scale into the late game.It best to use them if you have a late game team compassion
For the quintessence's i use health to give extra damage on your w Flail of the Northern Winds they my clear are faster and safer and also it make you tanker so you can tank more damage for your team
Sejuani's passive is called Frost Armor
Damaging an enemy with an ability or basic attack grants Sejuani 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 bonus armor and reduces movement-slowing effects on Sejuani by 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 % for 2 seconds. Both amounts increase at level 7, and every 5 levels from there on. Subsequent damage will increase the duration by 2 seconds up to a cap of ~8 seconds, where after damage will refresh the duration.
sejuani's q is called Arctic Assault
Cooldown: 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 / 11
Cost: 80 / 85 / 90 / 95 / 100
Sejuani charges forward, knocking enemies into the air and dealing 80 / 125 / 170 / 215 / 260 (+40% of ability power) magic damage (max 300 damage to monsters). This charge stops after knocking an enemy champion into the air. You can also dash though 99% of terrain.
Sejuani's w is called Flail of the Northern Winds
Cooldown: 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 / 7
Cost: 40 / 35 / 30 / 25 / 20
Sejuani's next basic attack deals 4 / 4.5 / 5 / 5.5 / 6 % of her target's maximum health (+3% per 100 ability power) as bonus magic damage to her target and all nearby enemies. She then swings her flail, dealing 40 / 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 (+4 / 6 / 8 / 10 / 12 % of maximum health) (+60% of ability power) magic damage to nearby enemies over 4 seconds. If this ability is reactivated, Sejuani immediately starts swinging her flail.
icon=sejuani size=20] Sejuani's e is called Permafrost
Cooldown: 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 / 6
Passive: Sejuani's abilities and basic attacks apply Frost to enemies for 4 seconds.
Active: All nearby enemies with Frost take 80 / 105 / 130 / 155 / 180 (+50% of ability power) magic damage and are slowed by 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 % for 1.5 seconds.
sejuani's ult is called Glacial Prison
Cooldown: 130 / 115 / 100
Sejuani throws her frost-forged bola in a line. If the bola hits an enemy champion, it shatters, stunning the target and nearby enemies for 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 seconds. If the bola reaches its maximum range, it shatters and slows enemies by 30% instead.
All enemies in the shatter area take 150 / 250 / 350 (+80% of ability power) magic damage.
Abilities Leveling OrderFlail of the Northern Winds because it gives her good waveclear in the jungle then i get her e Permafrost for the extra AOE damage and makes her clears easier. I max Flail of the Northern Winds first because it gives her a lot of AOE damage. I max Permafrost second just to add the the amount off AOE damage she has and the large 70% slow at max rank. i level it this ay because it allows you to stick to your target.
What jungler item should you get and why
The three types of jungle items you can get are Skirmisher's Sabre, Tracker's Knife and Stalker's Blade
You get the Skirmisher's Sabre because of the passive of Challenging Smite. Your smite can be cast on enemy champions, marking them for 4 seconds. While marked, you deal 60-162 (based on level) true damage over 3 seconds, have vision of them, and reduce their damage to you by 20%
You get Stalker's Blade for the passive of Chilling Smite your Smite can be cast on enemy champions, dealing 28-164 true damage and stealing 20% of the target's movement speed for 2 seconds
You get Tracker's Knife for the passive of Warding Consumes a charge to place a Stealth Ward that reveals the surrounding area for 150 seconds. Holds up to 2 charges which refill upon visiting the shop.
I normally take Stalker's Blade because i prefer to have the extra slow in the kit just in case i need it and it helps me stick to my targets and gives me the movement speed to help me stick to more than one target.
There are three possible routes that you can do in the beginning. Your routes afterwards will have to vary.
There is one route where you do a normal full clear including all the small camps and the buffs. If you want to do this make sure to buy 3x Health Potions at the start, since you will need them.
Route 2 is to do your first clear with just the small camps, skipping blue and red buff. After that you go back, buy the Machete and do a full clear including the buffs and all small camps, which will respawn as you make the clear. I recommend doing this clear, since it has several advantages: You maximize your XP gains, as you make best use of the small camp respawn timers and do the buffs with both Jungler Items. It also allows you to start with Refillable Potion instead of 3x Health Potion. It also helps you against Level 2 invades since you can't get caught at your buffs and in the worst case you loose a buff, but not your life.
Your last route option is to do one side of you jungle. This includes two small camps and a buff then back and get boots or second jungle item. Afterwards go strait to the other buff and gank immediately after however you do not get a much Exp from this route but it allows you to generate some early pressure if you are against a farm jungler like Shyvana or Master Yi to try and get some lane snowballing and prevent them from free farming in their jungle if their lanes are winning.
I mainly use the last route because i like to gank a lot with sejunai to try and get a lane snowballing so we can try and end the game as fast a possible. If i manage to do this i can then not focus in that lane and be able to apply pressure in other lanes that may need my help.
You should look for a gank around level 3 when you have all three of you basic abilities .When you gank as sejuani you should look to dash into them with your q Arctic Assault then auto w Flail of the Northern Winds and then when they flash or dash away you will want to use your e Permafrost to slow them this will allow you and your lanners to catch up to your target. IF the lanner you just ganked used a summoner like flash you should go back and gank them later on as you know then no longer have it this will most likely tern into a kill and they have n escapes to get away with you huge amount of cc from your Permafrost
in teamfight you will want to look to get the best Glacial Prison as possible ideally you will want to get the whole enemy team in your ultimate but if that is not possible you should try and get the most important person in the ultimate so that your team is safe to fight without the worries of them flanking them and kill them. In the the fight you should look to dive into there back line and try to soak up as much damage as possible and try to land a good ultimate that get there carries it stop the amount of DPS the enemy team can produce. Doing this allows the rest of your team to reposition and allow them to kill them without taking much damage.
Thanks for reading my sejuani guide. Sejuani sejuni is my favourite jungler and it was a real shame that people dropped her after she and Cinder hulk were nerfed, but she's still a lot of fun and is a great champion to play with as she has lots of cc and I hope that this guide will encourage players to pick her up again.
