Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Welcome to the "Evelynn: One Badass Chick" build!
This guide is geared towards people interested in playing a well rounded and powerful stealth class. She's a bit difficult to master but is an incredible force once done right. She's incredibly versatile with the different items she can take to match certain enemies and she's a stealth assassin that can actually get HEALTH. Simply incredible! Hope this guide is helpful, please read it carefully and provide any feedback you may have. If you're unsure of this build please test it before you downrate it and if you downrate it please give a reason why. So far this build is undefeated in testing!
First thing first, Masteries. These are key to your characters build. Now I have seen a LOT of Eve builds that focus on Utility, while those are good you may notice that I've focused on Offensive. She simply works better if she deals more damage. She's versatile enough that when played correctly she is very hard to kill.
The added critical strike chance and critical damage in Offense help a lot when you use her ultimate just before setting up a stun out of her stealth. If you get a crit on top of your Ravage your opponent will often times have suffered enough damage that they will run from you, this is important. It lets you run away, re-stealth, then dive in for the kill. Works most of the time during Mid-game and even late game if your opponents aren't getting oracle elixirs. ;)
Just be sure to get Greed in Utility, it helps a lot. I also chose Expanded Mind in Utility over Awareness simply because of its great synergy with Archangel's Staff.
Pretty straight forward here:
Ghost is great while in stealth to get the jump on other enemy champions in another lane without giving their teammates much time to call MIA. It's also a great escape mechanism for when you've opened on a target and get focused and need to run and re-stealth quickly.
Ignite is incredible for pesky classes such as Tryndamere and also helps reduce the effectiveness of enemy support/healers. It's also a great tool to ensure a kill when an enemy is attempting to flee from a battle.
Start every game with a Doran's ring and a health potion (depending on how good you are at survival you could substitute the health potion for a mana potion). Then buy your starter boots and then begin working on Rylai's Crystal Scepter by getting an Amplifying Tome or Blasting Wand to get your AP up. Then finish your Sorcerer's Shoes in-between finishing your Rylai's. From here you can go a number of different routes, so be smart and mindful of your enemy team. I will have more in this section for suggested deviations to my current build, but for now what's listed in this guide is a general and decent suggested path to follow. Build Zhonya's Ring late and round off your fifth-sixth slot by getting buff potions.
The build in this guide more or less walks you thru numerous buys and shows you what items to build in sequence to nab the end-game items you're looking for. Zhonya's is icing on the game for those long games where you're getting fed. You might also try some decent ATK SPD items that work well with your ultimate. Such as Sword of the Divine or Madred's Bloodrazor. Guinsoo's Rageblade is also really fun on Evelynn as well. Be creative late game, you have some slots to play with. ;)
THIS SECTION AND MANY OTHER SECTIONS WILL BE UPDATED IN THE FUTURE WITH FURTHER TOOLTIPS AND ITEM SUGGESTIONS. PLEASE READ THE "LATE GAME" SECTION ON MORE END-GAME ITEMS THAT ARE USEFUL AND WHEN TO GET THEM.
As for runes its pretty standard. AP Quints and Glyphs provide some nice early game AP (along with Improved Ignite in Masteries) to make your Ravage hurt and hurt hard as it has a 1:1 scaling ratio with AP. Magic Penetration Marks are a plus and help make your Ravages hurt harder. (beginning to see a pattern ;p) The evasion Seals are kind of up in the air, but are good against physical damage champions that give chase. Since damage will only prolong your re-stealth you want to make sure you can dodge some hits here and there to take that much less damage since she is pretty fragile outside of stealth.
The key here is to focus on your side of the map as a whole. You will be moving around to set up ganks later on and you need to have good map awareness to play Evelynn effectively. Just be sure not to die early on and leech xp from minion kills in bushes or stealth when things get a little too heated. Laning with a champion that also has a stun makes it a bit easy to setup a early gank for some extra gold and xp so be sure to communicate well with your team. Lets go for the breakdown:
Grab your starting items and head for either top or bottom lane (in 5s) or just stick with your team (3s). Early on you want to level as quickly as possible. Use your stealth to harass enemy champs by stunning them every so often then quickly running away. Make sure you grab some minion kills and lane as long as you can (sometimes just letting your minions kill while in stealth). Once you hit level 4 you should have 2 levels of Ravage and your hate spike, now you can set up some ganks within your current lane if you're confident enough with your teammate. Just make sure that once you open on an enemy, always put in as much damage as you can and be sure to RUN AWAY if focused and re-stealth. Then come back in for the kill.
Your ultimate as Evelynn is the DUMBEST thing imaginable and I LOVE it! xD
Once you have your ultimate and hopefully you're close to Rylai's Crystal Scepter you are ready to lane hop and snag some kills to help build your arsenal. Remember, your ultimate's cooldown refreshes whenever an enemy champion dies (it doesn't matter where they are on the map!). Use its activation to help chase down fleeing opponents, provide more damage during a gank or to push a tower and really tick its health down. The best part of the ultimate is the passive ability, you heal whenever you get an assist or a kill. This heal IS affected by Spirit Visage, which I often get if I notice the enemy team has a lot of squishies I can play with. ;)
This makes tower diving a bit more bearable since you can run in, take a hit, snag the kill, gain some life, pop ghost and GTFO like a champ! ;D
Just don't get too cocky however! Towers all have invisible sight so don't try to sneak past one, it will NOT work. Also be wary of mid to late game as this is where enemy champs will begin getting oracle elixirs. If that is the case, have your team help you focus those particular enemies down, because re-buying oracle elixirs keeps them from buying much needed build items! It really helps to use the bushes to hide yourself from those that use oracle and wait for them to be busy with one of your teammates before running in to finish them off.
After mopping up the lanes for a bit you should now be well on your way to having your build completed. This is where you want to focus on what particular items help benefit you the most given the current enemy team. As I've said before, Spirit Visage is a great add-on item that you can use. If the enemy team is CC heavy and you're afraid of being focused, look into Banshee's Veil as well. Quicksilver Sash is great for removing Ignite and other DoTs that prevent you from re-stealthing very effectively so if you're playing against champs like Mordekaiser or Malzahar you may want to look into it. From this point you shouldn't be dying at all. Learn to run when being focused and always re-stealth before coming back into a fight. If you're doing well and not dying look into getting Mejai's Soulstealer.
This guide is still in its early stages and will be updated frequently, so please provide feedback and check back to see how things develop here. I will also be adding some color and some nice tooltips to help make the guide much easier on the eyes and less of a long read. Hope this was helpful, please don't downrate without commenting why. Hope this build works for you, give it a try! Good luck and have fun!
