Warning! This build set is VERY Offensive, Experimental and Definitely Not Perfect. Yet it is oriented to be flexible in all directions. By choosing over ad/ap orient and swapping optional items you can fit the build to your playstyle and game's needs.
In early game, farming is your key to win, so obviously you pick the 'w' skill and start earning gold even if you have to hide behind your tank and stand far enough from main creep mass. Though you can try jungle with builds that include lantern->lightbringer, it wouldn't be so easy because tear of the goddess is the first item almost all the time. Why? Because mana for ap/hybrid Kog'Maw is almost the same important as for skilled Ryze, and when you start playing you will feel it.
.. And so you have reached the 6th lvl and grabbed your first ulty lvl! Now its time for a new level of farm! With this wonderful thing, your creep score will grow in geometrical progression, as you throw it to a crowd of creeps, killing it in 1-2 shots alongside with harassing enemy champs unlucky enough to appear nearby.
Team Work is the key to progress in any MOBA game. And in our case... And our character.. Its a main part of gameplay. Check bushes / vilemaw / center / altar ? Slow down an enemy chasing your poor mate to make a last hit ? Help your mate to do a kill by dividing target's armor and resists by 0 ? Yes, you can. Kog'Maw has a perfect skill-set for a hybrid character (to compensate quite low stats on hp and dps, wich we would increase through our build), wich makes him a valuable unit in almost any role. Mostly he is build was apc/adc, yet with the latest update he became extremely rare due to nerf and sad statistics. This guide is based on positive-resulting experiments with hybrid or simply unusual item combinations both in normal and ranked games. Though even if the game is a defeat, mostly your score will be a positive KDR ... or a *censored*load of assists and cs.
Kog'Maw's unique ability lets him act like a real suicide bomber, giving him a couple seconds of intense running and a nice magic damage explosion after he dies. This skill lets you do double or even triple kills simply by diving enemy turrets when they're low on hp (or just dumb enough), so this abil may be used for: fun / trolling / kill from the grave, wich delivers your enemy an impossibly bright butthurt even if you don't kill them :3
Overall playstyle with these builds varies from heavy artillery role, to a highspeed armor-reducing machinegun, yet you can achieve almost any effect by using dot-s or different combinations of hybrid stuff. Like making your enemy suffer 2.5 aspeed ad barrage and then ruin whats left of them with your burning blackfire-torch arty. Anyway, all these have a quite bad aspect of low defense, wich exposes you to burst melee enemies like rengar / nasus / darius / vi / riven. Yet you can kill a 7/0 adc 1v1 if you have at least a tiny understanding of tactics and counter-building your items. The most flexible thing here is order of items after you get manamune or archangel, wich gives you a great potential in almost any situation.
