1. Basics

Fiddle in The Middle

Hey there.
I wrote this guide about Fiddlesticks it's based on "Fiddle in the Middle", later I will add a jungle guide and maybe a support guide, too.
I wrote this to help other people playing Fiddlesticks.

The reason for creating this guide was a "trollgame" with Fiddlesticks mid, I realized that he isn't so bad in mid so I started to play him more games and I had much fun with this Champion so i wrote this guide so You can actually have the same fun as me. :)

I skilled 21/3/6 for more AP in the Offense part, Magicresist in Defense to dominate the lanephase and movement in the Utility part for better mobility / Ulti.

You need Blast , Mental Force and Archmage to maximize Your AbilityPower.

Sorcery and Arcane Knowledge are usefull to spam Your Dark Wind and deal more DMG because of the MagicPen.

Summonerspells:



My favorites are and

Flash is for better Crowstorm placement after you used Crowstorm You flash to your enemies.
Ignite is for laning to fight Your enemy with this:

note: use Dark Wind before Terrify so Your enemy can't flash etc. away

Summonerspell You can also take:



for better mobility while using Crowstorm

for support or midlane (better drain etc.)

for jungle only (guide will come soon)

Summonerspell You can shouldn't use with Fiddlesticks:



I think this spell is useless on him because high CD and u don't need ASpeed

You rly don't need it because you shouldn't push mid in early..

You have your Drain so you don't need Heal on 5vs5 midlaning

You rly shouldn't take this spell!!!

I prefer 3x as Quints for flat AP in early.
=> more DMG

You can also Take:
1. 3x Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed for more movement
2. 3x Greater Quintessence of Spell Vamp for laning
3. 3x Greater Quintessence of Magic Penetration for more magicpenetration
4. .. Runes you prefer



I prefer 9x as Marks for flat magicpenetration.
=> more DMG

You can also take:
1. 9x Greater Mark of Ability Power for more flat AP
2. 9x Greater Mark of Magic Resist for more magicresist
3. 9x Greater Mark of Scaling Ability Power for more AP in the lategame
4. .. runes you prefer


I prefer 9x Greater Seal of Replenishment as Seals for more MP/5 in early
=> better laning.


You can also take:
1. 9x Greater Seal of Ability Power for more flat AP
2. 9x Greater Seal of Scaling Magic Resist for more magicresist in lategame
3. 9x Greater Seal of Scaling Ability Power for more AP in the lategame
4. .. runes you prefer




I prefer9x as Glyphs for flat magicresist in early.
=> little burst-protect


You can also take:
1. 9x Greater Glyph of Ability Power for more flat AP
2. 9x Greater Glyph of Magic Penetration for more magicpenetration
3. 9x Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power for more AP in the lategame
4. .. runes you prefer

BUT! Don't use AD Runes or smth. like that for mid, because u play AP carry and not AD or Tank or Bruiser.

5. Skill Sequence

Ability Sequence

Max. your Dark Wind first to get maximized DMG in laningphase and a huge mute.

While you max. Dark Wind skill your Terrify for easy ganks by the jungler.

After you maxed Dark Wind max. Drain and Terrify.

Don't forget to skill your Ulti Crowstorm every time you can.

6. Items

Preferred (offensive) itembuild:



I mostly start with and 3x if you get firstblood in mid buy Kage's Lucky Pick, if you didn't, get 2x and then Kage's Lucky Pick for Gold/5.

After farming you should go base for Needlessy Large Rod to build and finish your boots . After you got this farm for for more AP and stronger DMG. When you finished get for a better burst on laningphase. Now you have the main items on Fiddlesticks.

You can go for and now, buy first if you need HP for teamfights, if You play with Amumu in Your team You can go for to do more DMG in teamfights.

Alternative (defensive) itembuild:



Start with and 3x . Your first trip back is when you have 950 gold+ to buy 2x for AP, Mana/5 and Health. Your next time to go back is when You can buy Catalyst of Protector and for more Health, Mana and regeneration. When you got enough money for buy it and rush Zhonja's Hourglass after this.
Rush now so you can deal more DMG. When you finished go for and now so you can do better ultimates for teamfights.

7. Tactics

In this Chapter I want to show You my tactics for good ultimates, farming, harassing, etc..

I will start with the warding for midlane:



The red circles show the important warding zones for midlane to see the enemy jungler or the midlaner when he goes for roaming.
The blue cirlces show the less important but still important warding zone for midlane, this ward allows you to see the enemy jungler coming up to your lane.

Roaming tactics:



As You can see there are 2 paths for roaming each lane, You have to see how pushed the lane is to decide which patch you use.
Push your lane first and then go roaming while the enemy in the mid tries to defend the turret.
The blue path shows a aggressive road to the toplane. You can cast your ultimate out or the tribrush or from the river brush to surprise your enemy with a Terrify, this should end with a save kill.
not: Try to let the Toplaner the kill!
The red path shows a normal road to the botlane. You can cast your Crowstorm the way you can do it on toplane, from tri-brush and river brush. Trow your Darkwind and Terrify your enemies on bot. Should be at least 1 kill.
note:tri-brush is often warded.

Some ultimate positions:



The circles show the position you cast your ultimate the red lines show the direction where you cast it to.
Yellow circles: some brushes where you can easily cast your ultimate.
Green circles: some positions where you can cast your ultimate for teamfights.

Jungle road:



Start with the red marked buff (blue-buff) to get the CD-reduction and mana/5.
After blue buff do wolves, ghosts and golems now your Smite should be up again -> do redbuff.

After doing this you can try to gank mid/top/bot for this you can use the methods I showed you in the Chapter.

You can do Dragon easily solo but it's better to do it with your team, so they can cover you and it goes faster.
note: try to lasthit Dragon and Baron with your Smite so try to keep this up while doing this guys.

If you are a good jungler try to counterjungle wherever you want.

note: I will add a bigger jungle-guide in this guide soon.
