You are searching for a Champion who can outplay every other Champion, but Riven and Zed are way too mainstream? Then welcome to my Guide.
About me. I am playing League of Legends since Season 2 and i am currently in Platin. I guess i am not that kind of player who can play one Champion on a godlike niveau but I can do well with nearly every Champion...and especially with Fiora. I want to keep it simple in this Guide. I assume that everyone of you knows how to play top lane and what it's all about so I am just going to tell you the important things about Fiora. Here we go!

Fiora has one of the stronges ultis right now. It allows her to duel nearly everyone (unless your oppenent is pretty fed, but even then) and can turn teamfights around. So I focuse on getting the heal as fast as possible in a teamfight. It is hard to loose a teamfight with a heal way higher then Janna's or Soraka's ult.
So what do we need to achieve this? We need to be fast and live long. And that's all about. Get fast and tanky. Fast means movements speed and CDR.

Runes are pretty simple. You do what you do with most Top-Laners. Get some Armor-Seals and Magicresist-Glyphes and then maximzing your damage-output. For this you should go flat AD. You don't need that much Armor-pen because of your amazing passive.

This is pretty simple. You should always go 21/9/0.

You don't have to think a lot about you items.
Youmuu's Ghostblade: Since you won't have much damage-items ghostblade's active and your ulti gives you the 8 seconds to beat everyone. It doesn't matter how tanky he is. This synergy works great every game. And you get CDR.
Black Cleaver: The passive gives you movement speed while attacking an oppenent. With this passive and Ghostblade's active you can run around enemies while attacking. And you get CDR.

You have to farm very well. This is something Fiora didn't changed. But it is pretty easy. Your Lunge has a short CD if you hit an enemy and it is always aiming for the lowest creep or enemy Champion. While farming try to hit the enemy as often as possible with your Lunge and make use of duelistsdance. Get away with the movements speed buff. If he is trying to trade you back use Riposte to deny his damage and then use Bladework and get away. After you hit the enemy once with your passive, the next angle will be behind the enemy which is bad for you. Go back to your tower and out of the range of the enemy so you loose you passive. Get back to him and mostlikely your passive will be infront of your enemy and you can strike again for his weakspots. Repeat this until you are sure you can kill him. Your ulti has a huge burst and gives you great mobility. Use it always if you can't get away or need to execute the enemy. Towerdiving is pretty simple with grandchallange. If you manage to kill your oppenent you have a huge heal and get simply out of towerrange. (but be carefully. You all-in is weak early)
