Introduction

Hello and welcome to my S3 guide to Fiora The Grand Duelist! This is a full remake of my first Fiora build. I’m Return of Bob or that's at least what I call myself in game and here. I’m going to show you my way of play striking good with Fiora! This build focus heavy on her ultimate Blade Waltz's damage, meaning how to take one enemy down alone or how to make grave damage to everyone in the enemies team in a couple of seconds! I would be very happy if you can give me constructive criticism and only vote my build (up or down) after actually trying it :D

If you find anything wrong in this guide, grammar errors or whatsoever, then please tell me so i can fix it! I'll make sure to credit you in my "People that have helped me section".

Here follow's a video teaser of me getting all in the enemy team (quadra+one) I used my ultimate just before this video was recorded;

Throughout the guide you will find these;

In them you can find reasons, details and stuffs like that, so feel free to click on them!

Summary

So, some key words to summarize this whole guide!
SPACESPACE Sustain SPACE Abusing Fiora's great sustain in lane, both with lifesteal and with a huge amount of hp/sec ( Duelist, Ravenous Hydra and Health Potion's) SPACESPACE

SPACESPACE
SPACESPACE Hit & RunSP SPACE Both in lane and when the opportunity comes, you will play fast paced, always on the move, focused with fast trading and a wise play. SPACESPACE

SPACESPACE
SPACESPACE Focus SPACE Fiora excels at taking down the enemys carrys. Always focus them, not that Rammus with 400 hp, it will take longer time to kill him than that Ashe with 2000 hp anyway. SPACESPACE

Pros & cons

SPACESPACE
SPA

+ Awesome early game damage!
+ Really good gapcloser and nuke Swith Lunge.
+ Her ultimate Blade Waltz applies Son-hits effects.
+ Underestimated sustain with her Spassive Duelist.
+ Thanks to her Riposte she gets Spassive attack damage.
+ Last but in my opinion the best; SReally fun to play!
SPACESPA

Returnofbobreturnofbobreturnofbob
Returnofbobreturnofbobreturnofbob
- Kinda squishy in early game.
- Multiple stuns is a killer if put on her.
- Often focused, this is to expected Sthough.
- No CC what-so-ever.

Abilities

: This is Fiora's passive, there is not much to say about it, it will heal you for 7+(1 per level) over 6 seconds and stacks up to 4 times if you hit a champion, use this to your advantage by hiting the minions when the lane allows it.

: (Q) This ability let you dash forward to a enemy, you can activate it once more within 4 seconds to dash one more time at no mana cost. This is going to be your primary mean to damage opponents in early-mid game where you will want to harass and take so many kill's you possible can.

During the cast of Lunge Fiora's unit collision is ignored, this means that she will be able to dodge skillshots.

: (W) Riposte let you block a enemy's basic attack, and send back a set amount of damage to the enemy that attacked you. Also buffs you AD as a passive. This ability is great when you are up against champions that rely on on-attack abilities like Gangplank's Parrrley or for example Wukong's Crushing Blow. These kind of attacks are the one you need to learn how to predict and block. I also really love the passive AD it gives!

Note that for most abilities only the damage will be blocked, Parrrley will still applie Grog Soaked Blade, Decisive Strike will still silence you, and Crushing Blow will still take away your armor. This is the one big flaw of Riposte.

Full list of abilities you can block!

: (E) This ability make's your attack speed go alot higher, awesome damage if we say it like that. If you hit someone when under the spells infusion, your movement speed increase (stacking up to 3 times) Lunge count as a "hit". Take care to when to active this cause one single stun will make it go to waste!

: (R) Fiora's ulitmate. This baby is a killer blow! When you use this ability you become untargetable for 1.25 seconds, dashing around the battlefield, hitting random enemy champions for physical damage for five time's, if there is no more that one champion present at that time, it will hit all of those five time's at that champion but only for 25% a damage for the sucessive strikes. Best thing about it though? It applies on-hit effect's! Remember to not forget that it don't only do damage, but also can help you survive long enugh for your teammates to come to your aid if the need should arise.

Take care when you decide to use Blade Waltz because of it's long cooldown, also do care about blinds as Teemo's Blinding Dart or Quinn's Blinding Assault as this will make you "miss" you hits in Blade Waltz, also care about Jax's Counter Strike as it will make him dodge all your damage and stun you when Blade Waltz has ended.

Skill Sequence

BOBBOB
BOBBOB
-> -> ->

So here's the deal, we are going to want to max out Lunge first for the extra damage and cooldown reduction that will be given on the ability, secondly take one point in Riposte for the extra early 15 AD at lv 3 you should take one more point in Lunge and at lv 4 you will want one point in Burst of Speed for more attack speed and Ms. Don't forget to max out Blade Waltz whenever possible (lv 6,11,16).

Summoner's Spells

My first picks

Flash
// Teleports you a short distance.
// One of the few spells that is viable on almost every champion in the game, the uses for this spell is almost endless, jump after a enemy that has low health to last hit them, run away from a good gank or dangerous situations, dodge enemy spell (primary ultimates)

Exhaust
// Makes one enemy champion weaker for 2.5 seconds.
// Fiora lacks CC before you get your Frozen Mallet, the slow can make a huge diffrent, and all the damage reductions make you alot better at dueling, if you throw this at a carry under a teamfight, that carry is gonna have a bad time.
BOBBOB
BOBBOB

Other good options

Ignite
// Ignites your target.
// Ignites your target, dealing damage and reduces healing effects on that target for 5 seconds. This can be really awesome for taking down a enemy that is running away with very low health, or if you are fighting that pesky Dr. Mundo on the top lane.

Barrier
// Shields your champion.
// Give your champion a shield for 2.5 seconds that protect you for damage. Good for giving you a edge over your opponent.

Teleport
// Teleport you to a friendly minion, tower, turrent, shroom or ward.
// You can use this to get back into your lane without losing exp, or to make a gank, save someone in your team and so on.
BOBBOB
BOBBOB

At your own risk

Ghost
// Give you more MS for a time.
// I never use this at Fiora she is fast enough anyway and i find it hard to know exacly when to use it, but sure, if you like it go ahead!

Smite
// Deal true damage to a minion or monster.
// This is a jungle spell and this is not a jungle Fiora build, do not pick this on top lane.

As you hopefully have guessed by this time, this Fiora guide isn’t made of critical based damage, therefore I pick Cdr over more damage from crits, the defense tree picks talk for themself, you are a melee damage dealer right? That means that you will take damage!

Items Core

This item has so good synergy with Fiora so it’s like Riot created it exclusive for her. It primary make her ultimate much more deadly. The active and passive stacks with attack damage, guess what? Fiora gets free attack damage from her Riposte!
What Fiora primary needs in early game is sustain and damage, let’s take a look at the pieces of Ravenous Hydra! Vampiric Scepter, life steal and damage. Tiamat, damage and hp/5. It gives everything Fiora needs in early game!
Fiora do not have wave-clearer ability, but Ravenous Hydra makes her clear waves like a boss on steroids. Fiora also don’t have any ranged pokes or attacks at all and therefore make her needing to stick to her enemy’s. Ravenous Hydra active actually give her some range for pokes and to finish someone of. Don’t forget that the active can be used to attack someone even if you don’t have any vision on them, so go get those bush-jukers!

And dont forget that Black Cleaver passive get applied by Ravenous Hydra to! Play around with that fact and Blade Waltz in your head...

So, we just got alot of damage right? Then we need some health to get a bit tanky, and if we think about that, whats better than health+damage and a slowing passive!? The passive makes you able o keep up with your enemies, something Fiora really needs to be able to do! The passive also get applied by your ultimate, helping your team to get enemies!

This is core, 90% of the games.

Enemies got alot of CC? Then go and grab these! Gives some awesome tenacity and Mr for those pesky AP carrys!

Fed AD carry or just alot of AD in the opponents team? Then go and grab these, one of the cheapest boots out there!

Dont feel a need any of the other boots? Then go and grab these, provides you with a excellent increase in Damage, though i would always trade these for Mercury's Treads in lategame if you get that far.

Situational Items

These items will be very different for every game that you play, you should take a good look at what you are fighting and think over the following facts: Alot of Ad? Alot of Ap? Many tanks? Is it Hp or resistance tanks then? Or even many supports? Who got most farm? Who got most kills? And then make your pick after that, I will make sections here for the items I believe fits Fiora! Remember, you don't have to build full items directly, often parts of a full item can be really good, for example; The Brutalizer and Hexdrinker.

Striking Tips & Tricks

So now have we at long last come to the part that atleast I think is the most important one! Anyone can copy a item build but what really wins a fight is to know how to play your champion. Here I will try to cover everything that i know about Fiora!

Combos

*Video is work in progress*

So, here we are; How to utilize all your spell's! You will want to play very aggressively with a Hit & Run tactic. First off, your standard combo:

+ + +

This will let you: Close the gap + make a hell of a load's damage + defend yourself + hunting down. Now you will have to decide if you do want to use your ultimate xD

In level 1-6 you will probably want to only:

+ +

As off that Riposte will drain your mana really fast, don't hesitate to use it if needed though.

If your enemy is the one attacking you, use:

+ + +

Use one Lunge direcly after your Riposte and save the other one for usage when the opponent make a run for it. Don't let it go more than 4 second's between them though, then you will lose one Lunge-strike (bad).

Tips & Tricks

Ultimate:

What happens here is that im meeting a Tryndamere when im pushing mid, he's almost killed and uses his ultimate Undying Rage that makes him imortal for a time, i wait a little then i use my Blade Waltz so the last hit of it will hit him after Undying Rage has ended. This way im not hited by the tower or him.

Here I use Talon as a catalyst for my Lunge and then ultimate Vayne that's standing behind him. When i get out from my ultimate I use Flash to get away so im not hited by the tower.

Yo Darius, you want to ultimate me? What about NO.

Escaping

So, somehow i ended on a duo top cause of that our jungler ninja locked Ezreal in the last second (dont ask me) and then Rammus ganked.
